Team, I just want to provide you with insight on how I deal with accounts outside of the hospital. Ideally, all of the outside accounts should contact customer service first. However, I will begin with a little background information. First thing to note is that everything begins with the money (RA). Our RMO section keeps a two separate Project center list (PFMR) . One of these list are for Med group accounts and the other is For outside accounts. The list for outside accounts shows the PFMRs that are deemed as active by base finance, and it provide the RA/POC for those PFMRs. BLUF: 1. I would respond by first letting MSgt Jester know that we to first research the items to find what best fits your requirement, However the AEDs (Equipment) will have to be coordinated through our Medical Equipment management Office (MEMO), here is their contact information. From there I would research the First Aid kits and Eyewash station by first contacting the acquisitions section to see if they have a preferred part number. However, the goal so to find an item that is sourced through PVM or ECAT, or sold here on base at the GSA Store. Once I've found potential products I confirm with the customer that everything meets they're requirement (AFIs, TOs, Operating instructions) and then I provide them with the following information: manufacturer, part number, item id, Unit of purchase, and price per unit). Once they know what they want to purchase and the total dollar amount, I direct them to their resource advisor, who will route funding to DFAS, from their DFAS will send a load sheet for the funds to the NCOIC of Medical Material. Additionally, this is why it is important to provide all of the order information to the requestor; that information should follow the load sheet all the way to the NCOIC of Medical Material. If we receive items for 374 CES for example, ideally we should be able to contact RA to coordinate delivery or pick-up. - Always make sure the RA is involved. They're may be money in a PFMR, however its set aside for a specific purpose, only the RA should make the determination on what is purchased with their funds. - The Embassy and Vet are not outside accounts. - If Joe Schmo from CES calls to ask about a status, ideally he should be in contact with the requestor or RA. Otherwise we might duplicate
