It only happens once a year. Our annual fall camping trip to Pawtuckaway State Park, one of the best nature gateways specifically to observe spectacular fall foliage. A lot of people are timid by a thought of taking a camping trip that late in the season at the end of October when the temperature at night falls to smoldering thirty degrees and only a thin layer of a polyester fabric of a tent to keep you sheltered from the cold temperatures, wilderness and the elements. It does seem a little extreme, but I absolutely love it and it’s the event I wait for the whole year. We set on our journey early Saturday morning. The park is situated in the state of New Hampshire, a short drive up north. A vigorous smell of pine trees slipped in through …show more content…
We are finally here. First, we check in at the camp office, we had online reservations for a specific site, so the registration went with ease. Then we stock up on firewood purchasing five bundles. Being somewhat of a regular here we know exactly how to get to our destination campground. We drove on a narrow, winding dirt road, the gravel under the tires made a popping sound to our site and the drive was gorgeous - fall foliage at its best. A coating of vibrant red, yellow, and orange covers the terrain. Panoramic views of the sprawling Pawtackaway lake are breathtaking to witness. Wooded campgrounds line the shore of the lake and most of them come with a private view of the water. You get the feeling of being secluded in forest and lake environment with a relaxing and picturesque atmosphere. The lake is spotted with numerous various size islands mainly created from post glacier rock formations. Much of the topography is boulder spawn giving it a New Hampshire mountain feel. There actually is a small mountain you can hike. Hiking trails overlooking the rim of the rambling lake. There is a no better place to escape to the great
Experience a new environment and the best of the Bamff, Yahu, and Rockies National Park.
As a gateway community to Texas Hill Country and Lake Travis, Lake Pointe is in an ideal location. Just 12 miles west of all the employers, entertainment, and cultural opportunities of downtown Austin, Lake Pointe is a carefully planned community that has just been built in the past 10 years or so. Developed near Highway 71 and Bee Cave Road, Lake Pointe is able to boast a great location as well as homes that are both more spacious and more affordable than many of the properties available within the city boundaries. Lake Pointe has always been popular with families who want plenty of space and clean, safe living while also enjoying all the amenities of Austin. Families also adore the fact that Lake Pointe is part of the prestigious Lake Travis School District.
Turtle River State Park is a park manage by the North Dakota Parks and Recreation Department. The mission of the North Dakota Parks and Recreation Department is to provide and enhance outdoor recreation opportunities through diverse parks and programs that conserve the state's natural diversity (ND Parks and Recreation). The area we chosen to manage is a small parcel within the park which includes a small prairie, an oak stand and a small pound. The prairie was just given to the park a couple of years ago before that it was a hay field. This paper will discuss how we will manage this small parcel for Muskrats (Ondatra zibethicus), Eastern Bluebird (Sialia sialis), Gray Fox (Urocyon cinereoargenteus), Plains Garter snake (Thamnophis radix)
During this history class extra credit opportunity tour to River Bend State Park I fell like I learned a lot of very interesting information on not only American history, but also Seminole History. I also learned the methods that have been utilized in hopes of preserving the park in its natural state. It is well known that it will not be possible to get the park to be an exact replication of the way it was when the wars were taken place, because the park changed before and after those events, and we do not know the exact changes to make today. But nonetheless, the park is as close to as it was back then as it needs to be, and I thought that it was an amazing thing to be in such a well preserved meaningful location. I had no idea that the Seminoles were such a big factor in American history as well as the fact that they were the only Indian group to never surrender. The wars upon the Seminoles were not necessary, and America should not have taken everything from them, or killed so many of them. The Seminoles could have been a huge advantage towards America if we would have accepted them and learned their tracking skills, war tactics, and healthy living habits, rather than stealing from them and killing them.
If you like to hike, swim, explore, and do fun outdoor activities than you would love Voyageurs national park, located in Minnesota. I found most of my research on www.nps.gov. Yosemite National Park is a beautiful park that is just hours away from San Francisco and has some of the best hiking and scenic areas found in our National Parks. Camping at Yosemite can be a challenge though. All of the campsites within Yosemite are on a reservation system that fills up in seconds after the dates are opened. Seriously! If you know you want to camp within the park, please plan way ahead of time to secure a spot. When making a reservation make sure you are signing up for an RV or a tent space. If you are tent camping, know that you will have to park a little bit away and carry your gear in as there is no space for you to park next to your tenting spot. Yosemite camping can get
There were full of environmental sounds around the Fort Snelling State Park. I recorded the sounds for about 5 minutes and I could hear a lot of sounds I can imagine and reconsider the soundscape and landscape of the Fort Snelling State Park. There were sounds of winds, several different kinds of birds, water, grass when I stepped on, and even sounds of breathes. The Fort Snelling State Park is located in the center of Twin Cities and it is really close from the MSP airport. It is also right next to the highway, so there could be heard various sounds of human resources such as flights which are departing and landing, cars which across the highway, and other sounds from buildings around the park. Because of these reasons, I relatively went to
Today, Liberty State Park serves an important role in the New York Harbor area. As the railroads and industry started to drop the land was abandoned and became an empty dump site. Land with decaying buildings, tracks and piles of debris was transformed into a modern urban state park. The park was formally opened on Flag Day, June 14, 1976, as New Jersey's bicentennial gift to the nation. Most of the 1,122 acre park is open space with about 300 acres made for public recreation.

For many young people the summer season includes plans to travel the world, take leaps in life, explore new things, and make lasting friendships. For my summer 2018 internship, I will be interning at Cheesequake State Park. I will intern directly under David Donnelly's supervision. I plan to work 4 days a week, Monday-Thursday (9-4) for 4 weeks, then 2 shorter days in the beginning of July (completing 120 hours).
The negotiation executed discussed the scenario of the Lane Cove National Park access road in North Ryde. Three parties were involved; the council, a privately-operated cemetery and Lane Cove National Park. In this scenario, a council owned local road lead down the hill from its junction with a main RMS-owned road to the entrance of Lane Cove National Park. A heavy real station is located at the top of the hill, which means that the section of the council road towards the top is now used by train commuters as a car park. Half way down the hill is a large cemetery located. The road is wide and well maintained down to this cemetery, after passing the road narrows and is in poor shape, without a footpath. The national park is concerned, that in case of a bush fire, public safety cannot be guaranteed if the road is not widened; in addition, storm water runs from the cemetery towards the park, damaging its ecology. Lane Cove is keen to improve the situation by widening the road section, control the parking and address water pollution. To do so, cooperation from the other parties is necessary.
