Partisan Grace White Analysis

Human nature is truly a complex thing to understand. Jackie French has lured us into a world bursting with vital historical information, she has entangled in the novel, a series of facts about the many events that occurred in World War II. French has taken the time to structure this novel with sensitivity and sophistication. She has shown great sympathy towards the Jewish people throughout this captivating novel. The author then leads us onto a path to teach us the importance of history and the endless lessons we may learn from the mistakes of previous generations.

“It's a wonder I haven't abandoned all my ideals, they seem so absurd and impractical. Yet I cling to them because I still believe in spite of everything, that people are truly good at heart.” (Anne Frank) Anne Frank was one of the many children who fell victim to the Holocaust during the World War II. Anne’s story is nothing short of a tragedy; she died at the early age of fifteen from Typhus while being held by the Nazi Regime, in the concentration camp Bergen-Belsen. Before dying, Anne and her family went into hiding and lived secretly in her father's office building in the Netherlands. While living in the “Annex,” a secret hiding place, she developed many interests such as reading and writing. Anne is famous because she is one of the best-known victims of the Holocaust, her story has been shared with millions in a publication of her diary, and through her writing’s she introduces many people to the massacre and its horror.

It is just one of many stories of ordinary people taking the heroic call for action upon themselves. For example, Anne Frank was a young Jewish girl whose family was hidden for years in the annex f oan office building with the help of the family's friends and coworkers. Many Jewish people’s choice Anne Frank and her family had little choice about their lives simply because they were Jewish. Anne Frank’s family was forced into hiding to avoid being sent into concentration camp and to avoid Anti-Semitic practices. Members of the Assisi Network believed that all refugees should have a choice: in what religion they practiced, to not be discriminated against, to have a life and personality outside of their race and religion. Gertruda Babilins was the nanny of a rich Jewish family and saved the boy who had she cared for when the war began. She worked very hard to give him a good childhood because she thought that the Nazis had robbed him of that. Gertruda wanted Mickey to practice Judaism even though she was a Catholic and he was immersed in Catholic culture. Even though it was hard for her to pay for his Jewish schooling. Just like those of the Assisi network allowed the people they rescued to practice Judaism even though it made the hiding process more

     In the following essay I will be talking about the disadvantages and advantages of partisan elections for state politics. I will also examine the last couple year’s election results and costs. Finally, I will discuss if partisanship made a difference in the vote, as well as if a judge should be decided by partisan vote. In the next couple paragraphs I will talk more specifically about these topics.

Texas has a controversial way of electing its judges. When Texas became a state in 1845, judges were appointed by the governor with Senate consent, but since 1876, judges at all levels of courts have been elected by the people in partisan elections. The main problem with this system is partisan elections lead to more campaign contributions and increased partisanship among judge which hinders fair and independent judiciary system.

These disagreements resulted in tension between the two. Although they attempted to create togetherness with the Missouri Compromise, politically the Northern republicans who were for free states had difficulty agreeing with slave state ideas with the democratic southerners, economic wealth for the North was gained from manufacturing while the South’s wealth came from the manual labor of slaves, and socially North was positioned to abolish slavery but not segregation even though the South wanted both. At this time, women pushed their stereotypical boundaries and positively impacted the outcome of WW2. During the Warsaw Resistance, women were a key component in aiding men on the battlefield. Women many times fought by the side of men, serving as messengers carrying important information, and also carried out medical duties .

In contemporary times, America represents the pinnacle of national power. It exhibits unparalleled global influence, holds the most powerful military forces, is the site of major technological innovations, and contains a wildly glamorous entertainment industry. Quite simply, the United States is the most powerful nation on Earth, and commanding it, is the president.
