Perceptions Narrative Writing Paper It all started in the year 2010 and only at the age of 10, when I was in the 4th grade and was attending Pine Meadow Elementary School my English teacher said that we were going to have a spelling bee. I did not think that I had to study for the spelling bee even though she gave us a list of some of the words that were that were going to be in the spelling bee, and the teacher said that all the students have to be in the spelling bee. The night before the spelling bee was going to happen I was not nervous about it, and did not study any of the words that were on the list because I thought that they were not that hard to spell. Also because I thought that I was one of the smartest in my class so I was going …show more content…
She then started in the front of the class, which I sit in the back of the class so I had a little time wait and see what other words my classmates have to spell. One by one she went and every kid in my class seemed to spell the word that they had to spell perfectly and nobody in my class got a word wrong. Then she said Jason and the room got quiet it is your turn and she said that my word was February and I was so scared because I had no clue how to spell that word because that was the hardest word that was on the list and I thought that there was no way that I would get that word because there were so many other kids in my class that the odds of my getting that word was so low. I stood at my desk and I could feel that my face was getting red and my palms were sweating and the was an awkward silence in the room and then all of a sudden I said F-E-B-U-A-R-Y and she said sorry Jason that is not how you say February and the whole room was silent and in shook that I could not spell the word February. I felt like I was going to cry and I felt like I could have done a lot better and that I felt like I let my self down by not doing so well on the spelling bee As she kept going through the list of words that were piece of paper to finish the spelling bee I thought to myself that I probably should have studied for the spelling bee even though I thought that it was going to be easy and
In 2013, this department store has been celebrating being in business for 110 years. It also once lured its customers in with its famous discount pricing strategy and coupons. The retailer is J.C. Penney rebranded itself by making the announcement that it wanted to become America 's favorite store by creating a specialty department store experience (JCP, 2013). Cameron Academy, the place where it all started for me. The first ever school that I had gone to. It was the place where I learned to fear anyone older and bigger than you because the teenagers there were not above fighting kindergarteners. Where I learned that the safest place to be after school was the office because the fights between the police and the students that took place outside on the front steps of the school were too brutal for me to witness; at least that's what my mom told me. That school was the place where I learned to be ashamed of any art that I may produce, to always keep it to myself, lest I be laughed at by the teachers. Cameron Academy is where I learned that “bad” kindergarteners who were in Ms. Valorie’s class got beat up.
As an observer who often sees students getting in trouble for what they have done, I never would have thought that one day, the student would be me. I am unable to recall exactly what day of the year it was, but I remember what happened clearly. That day, everything seemed to go so well; I had a great day with my friends and the school day was coming to an end. Suddenly that evening, at 2:12 PM, my day began to get worse, as if I got jinxed. During passing period before my last class, I decided to go use the restroom and unsurprisingly, the girls restroom was packed. By the time I got to class, I remember clearly that I had arrived a second or two after the last bell had rung. That day, my teacher happened to be standing by the door during passing period and when I got to class she said, “I want you to write me a page on why you
As you get older, people expect more of you, just as Esperanza has had to do. Think about a new responsibility that you have taken on in the past year. What were some of the challenges you faced as you assumed this new responsibility, and how did you deal with those difficulties? Write a story to show what it was like to take on a new responsibility, and reflect on what you learned from this experience. Be sure to use descriptive details to show what this experience means to you.

A worldview is how one views the world through their perspective. Individuals then conduct an opinion on how the world should be and how others should live. If an individual hears an argument about how committing adultery is right, but their opinion of adultery is that it is wrong, then that statement is their own personal worldview and how they view the argument. Therefore, an individuals’ worldview can be formed from the ideas or dialogues of others, but has to be primarily your perspective of the
Have you ever been held up by traffic? Just sitting there in your car waiting to go home or wherever the day is taking you. Imagine the people who never got to the place they were going. Never seeing the people they love and they never will because their life is gone in a blink of an eye. A lot of the time, this occurs is because of distracted driving. One of the examples is texting and driving. Florida has made it a law where texting and driving is punishable, but only as a secondary offense. That is not enough to save a life.
Worldview is the overall perspective of an individual or group of people in society. It is different in everybody’s point of view. I also don’t have a similar worldview to anybody else. As I said in my last paper, I believe the world is a free place where each individual have freedom and the right to make decisions. But even freedom can be seen as the most important thing that is needed for human beings; people still need to make rules in able to limit their freedom, protect themselves and others. Because of freedom, there is nothing right or wrong in this world; people agree what is right and wrong base on the rules that they made.
Worldview is a set of assumptions that we hold about the basic makeup of our world. We all have different worldview, and individuals’ worldview is often shared, and is strengthened by their various diverse cultures. Also, worldview largely impact culture by creating basis for its formation, provides an explanation of reality, evaluates cultural experiences, supports culture’s way of life, and helps culture integrate new experiences. This paper answers the top three-worldview questions of this course that pertain to God, the world and humanity: what is the nature of reality? How do we know? And how should we act in response as individuals?
“Man, I’m telling you I can’t wait to get out of college.” stated the Jock. “HA! You probably won’t even graduate after all the detentions and write ups you got!”a random person answer back. Slam! I grab my books out my locker and I began to walk to my next class. Truth is, I was very exciting that I made it this far, into this master class-like school.
Before providing context into the history of social equity in public administration and a discussion of the major challenges that confront public administrators in the delivery of equitable public services. It is important to know how this study defines social equity and public services. The definition of social equity is taken from NAPA and is defined as “The fair, just, and equitable [emphasis added] management of all institutions serving the public directly or by contract; and the fair and equitable distribution of public services, and implementation of public policy; and the commitment to promote fairness, justice, and equity [emphasis added] in the formation of public policy” (as cited in Norman-Major, 2011, p. 237). Public services are
It was the end of my fifth-grade year.We had a graduation and when I went up on stage I got an award for perfect attendance. The award looked like a dolphin with a paint that sparkles and is blue it also had my name at the bottom of the award saying “Perfect Attendance Karsten Widick”. After that award, I got an award for but everyone got one of these.I also got an award for being there for 6 years. My parents said that they were proud of me. I started off my 6th grade year scared of all the work we will have to do because my brother told me it was a lot harder than Elementary School and it was my first year riding the bus. When I got to school the teachers were telling us to go to the gym I didn’t know where it was so I just followed everyone
The scorching heat of the summer day in Stamps, Arkansas made the dusty roads and cross tracks have mirages. It was a slow moving town otherwise, in my opinion. I amongst many other blacks were segregated from the whites. The whites are richer than the blacks in my town, but through hard work and determination I do have a similar lifestyle to the whites. One thing that was important to me was helping one girl accepting herself in this disconsolate town that she can do anything she puts her mind too..
It all started in math class, it was a Monday and we had a test on the summer packet from math 2. I didnt study, but nobody did so I thought I was okay. Last year in math 2 I got an A, and I thought it would just be the basic curriculum, nothing advanced. When she handed out the test I was confident thinking it was gonna be easy, but was I sadly mistaken. It looked like material I had never seen before. I thought I was screwed, but the farther into the test I went, the more I started to remember. After about 45 minutes I thought I did pretty decent. Yet, I was nervous to get the grade back. I left class that day with my friends talking about how we all thought we made a 50 on it in a joking fashion.
