I was writing an email to my director/dean about your concert when you wrote. I just got back from a little tour of Kentucky and have not had time to catch up on emails until now. I hope your festival went well. Both my best students are playing chamber recitals next week and it was not realistic for them to attend. I know $500 is pretty low for you and I am looking into increasing your funding. There are two student organizations who might be able to provide additional funding : Middle East Socio-Political Association (MESPA), and the Persian Student Association (PerSA). The MESPA's goal is to promote a greater understanding of Middle Eastern cultures and politics through panel discussions, lectures, coffee hours, movie nights and various cultural events. PerSA strives to achieve the following goals: • To build a stronger and more unified Persian student community at Georgia State University. • To serve as a medium through which both Persian and non-Persian students who are interested in Iran, Farsi language, and Iranian history, culture and people can …show more content…

Consequently, if we get funding from either, or both, they might want you to speak with the students about your experiences. Please let me know your thoughts, and suggestions , and I will get in touch with the faculty advisors and student officers to pitch the idea and ask for funding. I'll ask about selling tickets. The last time I looked into this, however, I was told that GSU School of Music funded events, by policy, are free and open to the public. So, bare minimum, $500. Hopefully, $300 more for a masterclass (which I am pretty sure will happen). Then we also have the two student above who might be able to pitch in additional funding beyond the $500 for your concert.
