I am a musician at heart and always will be. I keep my life interesting and full of entertaining activities. What I have done up to this point in my life has prepared me for whatever may come my way.
I love music and have always been involved in various musical activities. I started band in fifth grade and have been to over ten honor bands in my middle and high school career, learning skills each time I went. I am on the Color Guard team, captain of the team for three years and writting the routines for two years. I have been in choir for two years and have participated in three honor choirs. I also take solos to contest, competing at state with my clarinet solos twice and receiving a one and a two; performing in Regionals with my choir solos and receiving twos each time. I have received the director’s award in band for demonstrating leadership skills in and out of class. Last year a clarinet choir was created in which I participated with other class members and received a two at Regionals and performed at a concert for the school.

I have been an active member in Family Career and Community Leaders of America for three years: one year as a member, the next as secretary, and the last as president. One organization that is involved with FCCLA is Big Brothers Big Sisters, where I was given the chance to mentor two “littles” in my time there. I was able to help other people through my church by helping with the opening ceremonies of special Olympics and other subtle service projects that benefit others. The medical profession I’ve recently decided to pursue was a certified medical assistant. You will need some type of plan before you decide to pursue in anything. It could be as simple as writing down your short and long term goals on a piece of paper .In my case, I always have something that motivates me because that will help me stay focused on achieving my goals. My motivation is knowing I will wake up to something I love doing on a daily basis once I get my career started. There are a few steps I will need to take to achieve my goal in becoming a medical assistant.
I have been since I was 9 years old, when my legs were too short to reach the pedals on the piano. Ever since the first time my fingers brushed over those keys all those years ago, music has been the very basis of my individuality. Being a musician has shaped my life in ways that cannot be described. My creativity in my musicianship has allowed me to flow into fields like photography, film, and other forms of art. I am a dedicated and conscientious student in class, and a key member in many extra-curricular activities. As a keen musician, playing violin, trombone and piano, I contribute to a number of musical ensembles in school and played an integral part in the organisation of our school’s summer concert. I came to realize that playing music can bring someone great fortune. I had no plans for the future, no goals, nor dreams before I starting my path in music. I never wondered without direction. But one day, good fortune came to me. A fortune I would have never of thought of. It was The Gracias choir and music. I was thinking to myself “I have never been so happy nor have I had so much enjoyment to live. To have an open mind to people around the world by delivering my heart threw my music. Staring down at the baby; my baby in his little plastic box, I was overcome by a fear I had never felt before. I would later find out that his box was called and isolate, a special bed for premature babies. His eyes were covered with gauze, he had a tube in his nose that was assisting his breathing, and he was so small. Awestruck, I watched his slight movements. His mouth moved as if he was searching for something. His tiny hands grasped for something to hold on to. I slowly reached my finger to his hand and he clutched it with all of his little might. His grasp sent shock waves of love through my body that I had never experienced in my life. I was a mother.
