Since the beginning of my clinical 2 experience, I have had the privilege to learn something new on how to become a better nurse and how I can maintain certain goals by following procedures, learning from the nurses, patients as well as my colleagues. I have learned that medication research, therapeutic communication, time management and prioritizing are vital in caring for patients. I am genuinely amazed at the whole complexity process of each care and attention required to achieve the intended goal. The fourth week of clinical was very interesting; learning that being a part of and working in a supportive climate is the best way to overcome the stress that comes with various demands of patient care. Increased workload can be overwhelming and brings about stress, fatigue which could cause a decline in productivity. Teamwork helps reduce some of that. It’s entirely up to the nurses to make the environment conducive to work in by simply communicating and documenting any findings and doing so in a timely manner.
Since the early 1950’s, becoming a medical administrative assistant was based of being solely dedicated to the medical assisting programs for the community. When I was a volunteer at the San Luis Somerton walk in clinic in Somerton Arizona the first task they had me do is watch videos on the history of Mexico and of my home town. At the time I was unaware of what these videos were entitled for, but I soon realized that they were to help me understand my own personal heritage as well as the patients I would speak to. I only worked with medical assistants and they were quite competent when addressing every individual. Every Medical assistant spoke both Spanish and English. What I found most interesting was how comfortable the patients were with the Medical assistants. They would socialize in a way that appeared to be as if they had known each other for a very long time. This was the case for everyone.

MCEP at BWH offers perfect opportunities for those who seek experience in the medical field and ready to devote a lot of time and hard work to do the most in the environment. I think of myself as a person who is set to pursue medical career and is very passionate about the subject. I am dedicated to the idea of helping people and would love an opportunity to get involved with a hospital that makes a difference every day and contribute in any way possible. I am extremely good in learning new complicated tasks in a very short time, an example of it can be my intern position at Sanofi Pasteur this spring, when I was assigned to a project in protein chemistry department, and was not familiar with any techniques they were using, such as HPLC, Octet system.
In contrast, I feel like the most problematic issue I have during nursing school is being unsure of what area I would like to work in once I graduate. I seems like many of my classmates already know where they would like to work, but I am keeping my options open because I am still unsure. Unfortunately, this might hinder me from researching and learning more about a particular field I could be interested in while I am attending clinical field experience in that area. I feel that my goal of simply passing has humbled me and keeps me grounded and willing to accept what I cannot control. Although I cannot control everything, the main aspect of nursing school that I am in control of is how I manage and use my time. I feel like my expectations

Attempting to translate obscure medical terms to non-English-speaking parents can be quite the challenge. In spite of that, I felt a profound fulfillment in doing so when my brother had to undergo procedures due to intracranial hemorrhaging and when my baby sister suffered life-threatening gastrointestinal complications. Amidst the frequent visits and the awkward translating, I grew enthralled with the various facilities and the healthcare members working within them. This early exposure piqued my interest in medicine and patient care. To gain firsthand experience in a healthcare setting, I became a certified nursing assistant (CNA), serving as a caregiver, physical trainer, and the occasional emotional crutch to numerous patients. While I
My job duties for CMA I welcome patients by greeting them, in person or on the telephone if needed.
Working as a pharmacy technician was initially only thought of as a stepping stone to advance my clinical experience. I had little expectations with regards to gaining valuable lessons because pharmacy was an area I had little interest in. Nonetheless, it was one of the more enlightening experiences because it taught me the shortcomings of our country's healthcare system. I became aware of the insurance system and the obstacles that must be overcome to ensure one’s prescription was covered. My communication and team skills drastically improved with interacting between co-workers, providers, and patients. I became more acquainted with regular patients and understood their adversities. Through simple conversations, I realized that providing emotional
I am applying for the job as a Registered Nurse in the Emergency Department at Baylor Scott and White Health in Carrolton, Texas. I recently completed the sixteen-week Emergency internship at the Baylor Medical Center at Irving and worked an additional three months due to the shortage of staff. Which is where I heard about this position. I am well qualified for this job based on my educational background and my previous internship in the Emergency Department.
I was first amazed by this concept in my medical school, how the cells would aggregate to form new blood vessels. I sensed my propensity to look at nature with precision and concentrate on the minute and dynamic phenomena. The understanding of the complex interplay of homeostatic mechanisms and critical decision-making process propelled me towards Internal Medicine. During my internal medicine rotation, I came across a patient with a rare disease of protein S deficiency presenting with painful deep vein thrombosis and acute Budd Chiari syndrome. My mentor took the clinical decision of getting her imaging and a cardiology opinion for stenting. The procedure was successful and she happened to meet me after 3 months of anticoagulation. It was a sheer joy to see her relieved of pain and a learning experience to be proactive in our approach. I also imbibed the virtue of empathy and responding to the needs of ailing patients.
To date, I have completed 202 clinical hours. I have spent the last couple weeks trying to arrange clinical time with specialists. Despite speaking face to face with the doctors who said they would be happy to precept me, this has proven to be quite challenging. I have reached out a few times to the hematology/ oncology office, and I cannot get the preceptor agreement form. I have physically went to the office, but just missed the office manager. Also, I have sent several emails. I do not think I am going to continue to pursue this. It is too late in the semester, and I do not want to come off as overbearing or pushy. However, I did receive back the preceptor agreement for from the pulmonology office. Unfortunately, FAU does not have a contract
