“I remember I was waiting anxiously on a windy Friday 13th at about 2 or 3 to enter the Museum of Death, but since it was their Grand Opening there was a lot of people, as you would expect. As Shannon, my mom and I were waiting in line, we saw people that you would typically be the murderer or a serial killer in a scary, movie but we didn’t think much of it because it was a museum about death, what else was I supposed to expect.”
“Wait, who are Shannon and Mom?” the little boy asked.
“Shannon was my best friend and well Mom was my mom.”
“Oooh okay, you could go on now.”
“Okay, when we were finally going to get in, it was around 6 or 7 and the worker told us that the self guided tour would take us about an hour and that they were going to close at 8:00, but we convinced him to let us in. We were probably about halfway through when we noticed that they were going to close so we went to the bathroom and then we were on our way out. When we got to the closest exit we saw that it was locked and that we were locked in.”

“The letter next to it said: THE GLOW IS SAID TO GRANT THE THREE WISHES OF ANYONE THAT ASKS IT TO HOLD IT UP IN A DARK PLACE AND WHERE THE GLOW IS THE ONLY THING YOU CAN SEE, THEN SIMPLY SAY YOUR WISHES ALOUD AND WATCH THEM COME TRUE.”
“Since we were the only people there, we thought that we might as well try it. We decided that we would all get one wish. Shannon wished for 1 million dollars, Mom wished for a new car, and I simply wished to be rich and famous. As we were walking around, Shannon said that she was going to see something really quick and when she turned the corner the lights shut off. The last thing Mom and I heard from her was “Money” then a scream and we never heard anything or saw again that night.”
“Where do you think she is?” I asked

Fifteen year old Conrad Clark just came home from basketball practice where he was absolutely exhausted. He is the best player on his undefeated school basketball team. He lives with just his mom and only sibling Thomas after his father had recently been murdered by an unknown killer. As he approached the front door of his massive three story mansion located basically in the middle of nowhere surrounded by a lake and lots of wildlife, a gut punching feeling went through his body. He was remembering what had happened before he left for practice. He got in a huge fight with his mom about his grades in school, and was regretting some of the things he said. He goes through the front door and goes up to his bedroom on the third story. He lays down on his bed and he sees a note telling him that his mom and Thomas, are at a party and will be gone all night. He puts the note down and closes his eyes. About forty five minutes later he wakes up to his alarm going off. He turns off the alarm clock reading 10:30 p.m and is wondering why his alarm went off for no reason. He lets it go past him and goes down to the first floor and turns the television on. He turns on his favorite show, Criminal Minds, when Bang! At that moment Conrad knew that something bad
The National Geographic film, A Portrait of a Killer, examines the types of stress that living beings can endure, and how it can thus affect the rest of their bodies. Severe chronic stress can lead even lead to the destruction of brain cells. Dr. Robert Sapolsky is a neurobiologist of Stanford University who has been researching stress for over thirty years. In order to study stress and its implications upon nonhumans, he went to Africa to study baboons. This species has only three hours of stress caused by eating, and the rest of their daily routine is consumed by about nine hours of free time. Much like Western society, baboons socially stress out one another, as they have social hierarchies to regulate how them interact with one another.

That day still haunts me. It was only my second month as a police officer. I remember the day time sky fading into the dark starry night sky. I flipped on my lights and that when the call came in. It was a 10-40, which means there was a murder. My heart started racing and the adrenaline started flowing through my body. Flipping my lights one I start racing to the scene. Living in Chicago murders were common, but this was my first time responding to a call like this. Getting closer to the park- where the body was- I slowed down and pulled into the park. As soon as I got out of the car this dewiness just took over me. Something felt extremely off. Taking in my surrounding I notice the body it was laying underneath a slide, somewhat hidden under
I could not believe what I had just said, I said it so hastily that I thought no one had heard me, but the judge clearly heard me say “The defense moves to indict Isabella Moores of first degree murder.” Everybody in the courtroom was speechless, “This so called witness was planning to murder her mother since she ran away from home, all because her mother was constantly abusing her and I have evidence to prove it!”
They laughed and started to play with Brodie’s goo ball until it was bed time.
Today my mom was murdered. Our doorman, Stuart, found her in our apartment. It was strange to hear someone was murdered in New York but when it's your mom it is even harder. My sister, Maria, doesn't even know, and I don't want to be the one to tell her. I had to drop out of college to take care of Maria and not having someone else to help will be a challenge but I am willing to face it.
Officer Gordon comes quickly up to me and says “Chief Lussen we found him” and that officer Miles is taking him into the interrogation room. As I take a second to myself and take a deep breath officer Gordon passes me files for the case. I walk towards the interrogation room but i wanted to look at him before I walked in and started interrogating him. So I looked at him through the observation mirror into the interrogation room and thought to me all my years of working as a homicide investigator this case is the case that has shocks me the most. 37 residents that live in the neighborhood and saw & even heard something or someone yelling on the street didn't even call the police.

“I’m going to kill you.” It’s a threat. A threat he will, most likely carry out, but there’s something in his expression that tells me differently. It’s something that doesn’t make sense with his personality. It’s fear. A fear I know all to well. Fear that he’ll be left here to die and no one will care. The same kind of fear I’ve experienced.
When we went into the abandoned library we had to get use to the place. The only reason it closed is because someone died in . I wasn’t shere because i really don’t want to die. The only thing i am afraid of is me and my sister peggy dieing. After mom and dad died in front of me. We just ran as far as we could which i guess lead us here.
