“What would you say if I asked to go away, just like we did after we met the hunters?” I brought up. “I would say okay, if you want to. I would say that I would come because we all need to go away sometimes. Where were you thinking?” “We could catch a train and head south on the coast? Just for a few days.” His eyes widened, vibrant at my words. “It would be nice to see the tracks.” “Okay? Yes?” “Okay.” He nodded. “Okay. I’ll tell my mother we’re going to check out one of Carolina's beaches or a VCU college tour or something. We can head to the city. Cameron and Abby just moved to Richmond after graduating, we could visit. I need to tell Ava, I’ll be back in an hour.” Standing, he left my home and went next door. I paced down the hall, …show more content…
I gulped down the remainder of Mountain Dew, before heading back onto the sidewalk. A short walk led us to the closed iron gates protecting the park. After hopping the pointed fence, receiving a tear on the side of my jeans, we were inside after dark.
The park was all soft grass and hills, with a tall important white building. At the top of a huge set of stone stairs, was a guard’s circle. Many feet next to it was one of the major historical buildings, and below that, was the underground level where tours were conducted. Due to the time, the entire park was a dark blue. The wind was silent, flowing between the crooks of the trees. Only the sounds of straggling cars were left to be heard.
“It’s beautiful tonight.”
“Indeed.” He commented.
With a hotel placed conveniently across the park, I connected to the Wi-Fi and played a music album aloud. We walked the circling trails for at least an hour, before trudging up to the large white steps. We resided on the last one. My back rested against a pillar as Vesper sat on a step and watched me.
“It feels so good to be out and not have to deal with anything else.” “It’s a good moment to be appreciate.” We wandered off to the fountain when it hit two in the morning. The reflection of the water showed both of us sitting on the stone
I wasn’t sure what our day would entail. I could feel a slight tremor present in my body as I slid behind the steering wheel of the MKZ. Running my finger tips over the leather where the treads to the steering wheel was laced together I contemplated leaping from the car and running like hell. This was a seriously stupid and dangerous thing I was about ready to take part in. Could I do this? My mind wanders to the trunk of the vehicle… What’s back there? How much is back there? Enough to be charged with a misdemeanor…a felony! My heart jack hammered in my chest. Was the benefit worth the risk? Feeling panic setting in I swung my legs out of the vehicle just as Eloy took his seat behind me closing the door. His eyes caught mine in the rearview mirror.
Seeing as there was nowhere else to go, you shuffled over to the opening and frowned. It was dark and you could just barely make out a doorway to what was most likely another room. What really threw you off guard was how nicely the doorway was carved. An intricate pattern wove itself around the exit. Did that mean… someone else was here? At the thought of possibly being able to get out of here with the help of another person made you scurry over to the patterned doorway with little hesitation. The sleeves of your two-sizes-too-big sweater fell down to wrap loosely around your forearms when you reach over and grabbed the wall to peak around into the next area.
On a cold December morning snow blanketed the ground while a frozen mist masked the trees. Only the very tops could be seen. I stepped outside and inhaled the clean, crisp Texas air. Still half asleep, I walked to the truck feeling the soft powder compact beneath my boots and the snowflakes melt as they hit my skin. It was the time of year that I had been longing for.
head to the hotel we was staying at. The town was nice and we saw some beautiful things, we
“We have somewhere to be.” Malessica said. “I’m in the city all the time, you can take pictures any other day.”
The sun was setting in the distance and the gleaming golden rays penetrated the western glass wall and cast luminous patterns on the walls. Gentle music playing in the background, soothing the both of you.
As I thrusted open the wooden doors, refreshingly cool wind blew my hair back. Sunlight surrounded me instantly, and I basked in the glorious sunshine. The blinding sun warmed my body, and I quickly unbuttoned my coat. Just then, the sound of conversations filled the air as people started leaving.
“I guess we could come. It’s about time that we got off this tiny island.”sighed Rudder.
“Alright, well… I’d better be gettin’ back home now anyways. I’ll see you later, okay Savannah.”
“Can you go with us tonight?” Nicole asked. “The kids are asleep, and we’ll be home before their parents get back.”
“Fine.” Anderson sighed. “But we have to make sure you and your family are safe somewhere other than your home, as you could all be at risk.”
“Let’s go,” he muttered, nervous tension building in his neck and shoulders. “I’ll feel much happier once we’re miles away from here.”
"No, I don't want to" I whined, feeling Dennison wrap his arms around me again.
“We’re going home!” Laina exclaimed, holding up the wads of cash they had earned. “Quick, let’s get to the ferry before it closes.”
“I don't know how you all can live in the city, I couldn’t stand being away from nature all the time.”
