In my opinion, freedom needs to be repeatedly earned, generation after generation. I believe this because years upon years have been dedicated to winning freedom in certain categories, and within our country itself, but after those years, some of the freedoms are taken away. Some people completely devoted their lives to develop free countries, or gain freedom in other ways, and succeeded, but then, the freedom was taken back. I do not see that as being fair. To begin, I believe freedom needs to be repeatedly won, or obtained, in many homes, among many families. Sometimes, the freedom you have in your home is dependent on certain things. For instance, your age or your gender. Age overrules gender in most cases, but gender can still affect this. Age affects things like, when you have to go to sleep, when you have to come home, and the things you may do. When you grow older, your freedoms begin to change a little bit, but still, parents are still protective over what you do. For instance, people in jail or prison, otherwise referred to as inmates, have basic human rights, the chance to receive medical care, and provided safety. Although, their privacy is mostly always taken away when they are sent to jail or prison, especially if they do something while in the jail. If they break one of the rules of the jail or prison, they are punished. And to punish them, security guards take away more of their freedoms. In 2011, I walked through the big red doors of Metamora Township High School at a whopping 92 pounds. I was five foot as a freshman, causing me to be very nervous for the first day of the next four years of my life. High school had its ups and downs, but overall was a very fun experience. What I remember most from high school is the wrestling season, student sections from different sports, participating in football, and making new friends along the way. High school was a very good experience for me to realize my goals in life and left me with great memories.

My wife and I drove to Colorado today for the Mother’s Day weekend. The sky is overcast and threatens to rain at any moment. On day such as this, I am reminded of our track meet day in elementary school. I grew up in a very small town and many schools in this area held a track meet on the last day of school. Nearly every year, the track meet took place on a day with similar weather conditions. It was just cool enough to keep comfortable as you ran, jumped, and played, but not too cold to ruin the day. Everyone loved the track meet since there were no classes and students were treated to a day of athletic competition. Each child participated in every event and ribbons were given out to the top 6 finishers. Participant ribbons were given to every child who did not place in the top positions.
Thursday morning came quickly for Samantha. She had lain awake until the early hours of the morning reliving her lesson from the previous night.
“No, no no! That’s not how you do it! THIS is how you do it.” That was my mantra as a young child. Back then, I came across as bossy and mean. As I matured, I soon realized that I was simply trying to help. Albeit, in the wrong way. I was being a help nonetheless. As an adult, I have learned that my passion is seeing or hearing a problem and working to solve it. Now I work with people instead of bossing them around, but it is this passion that makes me believe wholeheartedly that I am perfect for the Customer Success Agent position at Next Chapter.

It’s morning, the sun is just starting to peek over the trees, today is a special day, today is my 65th birthday, I’m old I’m truly old, but at least I don’t look like the Crypt Keeper. As I start my usual morning routine, I can’t help but wonder where did the time go? I’ve always been told to get old was a blessing and only the lucky ones make it this far, I suppose that’s true considering the alternative, getting older is definitely better than being dead.
Ronald Reagan once said, “Freedom is never more than one generation away from extinction. We didn't pass it to our children in the bloodstream. It must be fought for, protected, and handed on for them to do the same.” Freedom is unexplainably valuable. The only way to truly understand freedom and the obtainment of it is to understand the roles of those involved. Namely, the freedom complex is made up within the role of the dictator, the role of the individual, and the role of society.
Freedom is an innate right, humans are born with. Nothing should threaten our freedom, deprive us from our rights. Though we must respect freedom of everyone in the society. For me, Freedom is about surrounding yourself by people who motivate and inspire you to be better than you were yesterday, so that you can pursue a meaningful cause, in a manner that leverages your unique strengths.
