A funny thing happened when I got dumped, no one felt sorry for me. Everyone knows that misery loves company, but that’s only when something truly bad happens equally to both people. Why is it that the most miserable people I know always profess that they are happy, buy look as if all the windows on the upper floors are locked and the roof should be off limits to them? If I hear another person use the negative for a positive as an example, I may actually believe upping their medication might not be the answer. But then and again, it definitely wouldn’t hurt. Relationships are strange enough inherently without adding that pesky thing called happiness. For me happiness should be seen as a sign of mental instability teetering on the …show more content…
Gordon had heard your proposal,” Theron said, interrupting the speaker. “There are several aspects that are changed from the last time,” said the executive speaking, and trying to hold back his anger for being interrupted, but was doing a poor job of it. “I believe if I am allowed to continue then…” I took a sip of my coffee and spoke calmly, “It really doesn’t matter what you have changed. I’m not going to close down one plant and incorporate the work with another.” “But, Sir. With only a slight modification to the manufacturing equipment, both items can be manufactured at the same plant. The savings would be significant. I wouldn’t be bringing this up again, but I have little choice with the stock holders requesting this…” “I want you and everyone in this room to listen to me very closely. I don’t know where you or anyone else might believe that anyone has sway over me. The stockholders do not run, control, or own this company, I do. Giving the pink slip to over two thousand workers for no other purpose except greed has never been what my family has stood for and never will. You saying that the stockholders know of your idea tell me clearly that you no longer wish to work here.” “Sir!” the man
People often create their own happiness. My friend, Hannah, when she mad, she thinks and does things that are funny. Creating your own happiness can be beneficial. Cheerfulness comes from inside you shown these examples, of mice and men, Harry Potter, and my friend Emily all created their own happiness.
“Don’t you get it. You have to watch yourself. Things are changing and it would be best it you weren’t
Throughout the past year I went through a great deal of undertakings that caused me to become more experienced with my skills and how to overcome various challenges. These really built up my character and the way I am today. In all aspects, this past year consisted of going to Killington, Vermont, my brother going into the Air Force, meeting him in Texas for his graduation of basic training, completing a double backflip on a trampoline, landing a front flip on flat ground, accomplishment of a 2 ½ front flip on a diving board, getting 2nd at leagues, and competing in districts. All of these activities have advanced me in a skill or challenged me to an extent.
Happiness is one of the most satisfying things a person can have if they want to be sane or even remotely content with life. The definition of happiness is “the state of being happy”, or “pleasure, satisfaction, contentment, etc.” (Google, 2015) All of these feelings are very rewarding for a person to live with on a daily basis, without it I don’t think many people would make it too far in life. You hear stories on the news of someone who tries to commit suicide or of a person who took someone else’s life and wonder what went wrong or where did life go wrong for them.
Failure is truly negative if we choose to not learn from it. When we face setbacks and difficulties, we are given golden opportunities to grow as people. Learning from our shortcomings makes us wiser, stronger, and unveils a chance to turn an undesirable outcome into a building block of character. My hockey career has been a sinusoidal trail of highs and lows, but I always learned from the downturns.
Kevin and I stepped into a whole new world in the fall of 2009. We began our degree program at Emmanuel School of Religion, which is now called Emmanuel Christian Seminary. We were working on our Masters of Arts and Religion. I was excited and nervous about going back to college. Our first day was terrifying. Kevin and I attended orientation the week prior to classes starting. There was a definite realization this academic program was going to be a challenge. However, I wanted a challenge. On the first day of class, we started with Greek. Our professor was Dr. Marwede. He opened the class with a test. He came over to my chair first and handed me a paper with a list of Greek words on it. My immediate reaction was shock, which Dr. Marwede realized I was overwhelmed by the look on my face. He told the class we could take it home as homework. Many of the students in the Greek class had previous experience with Greek; however, Kevin and I had no knowledge at all. We were overwhelmed. We were assigned five chapters and told to return the next day for a quiz with our homework.
After another good showing, Alex is assured by his boss that if he can show a further fifteen percent increase in his bottom line then the threat of closure of the plant would be withdrawn. Here Alex realizes that he may now be constrained by the market. On Jonah’s suggestion he cuts batch sizes on all his non-bottleneck machines to half and requests his marketing department to quote four week delivery times. The rationale behind this
Growing up, my parents and I always took the time to read stories together. Before bed, before school, while playing with dolls in the bathtub. Fiction and nonfiction stories alike taught me about both the physical, literal world around me, and the world I could create in my own mind when I needed to find comfort. It was through the works of fiction, however, that I learned despite the hardships of life, I could disappear into a world I could mold however I pleased.
All my life, my main goal was (and still is) to move out of Wisconsin, say goodbye to the negative fifty degree winters, and explore the world. Looking for a career that incorporates my love for traveling and my intrest of Business has always sounded like a dream.Going to new, exotic places has always been a significant part in my life. After all, my first trip was when I was eight months old to Turks and Caicos. Throughout time, our family traveled to most of the Caribbean, I was infatuated with everything about these countries. At the age of ten, I started taking online Spanish courses. In the past year, I started to learn my third language, Italian. Learning a language takes a strong memory, from memorizing the spelling to all the forms the word has to be in.
Eighteen years ago I was delivered in a hospital in Tokyo, Japan and was taken to the United States embassy a month later to become a United States citizen. My parents had been living in Japan for two years, my father was on a work vista, and we stayed for another six. Whenever I talk about my early years I am aware it was a unique upbringing that would not have been possible a hundred years ago. Social and economic changes, and technological innovations in the 20th century impacted me even though I was born three years before the turn of the century.
Losing two of my best friends within six months of each other was one of the hardest things I have had to do. They were a major part of my life for almost 17 years, before they left. Through this experience, I learned to be an example of kindness, hard work, and diligence for those around me.
Me just like any other human being make mistakes we’re not perfect, but we’re all special in our own ways. Something I feel makes me special is that at a very young age i started playing sports. I now consider myself an athlete. That makes me feel special because not everyone is capable of having to do school work and play sports during school. Sports have also showed me discipline. Another thing that it showed me was how to take leadership and help others.
Welcome to my outlandish, yet in my opinion, amusing brain! The name presented to me upon birth is Taylor Lee Thompson. Currently, I am suffering through the struggles of junior year at Marion Senior High School. Difficult classes, early mornings, and extracurricular activities have made me an expert in the sport of juggling. The class that has appealed to me the most over the years is Criminal Justice. I found the behind the scenes instruction absolutely riveting! My instructor, Mrs. Hamm, kept me on my toes and I was always learning about crime, criminals, and cases. On the other hand, the class I utterly dread is history. Any and every type of history has always slowly bored me to sleep. I am convinced we are taught the same curriculum
One day i was fishing in my uncle mikes pond and mom said that i needed to drive the golf cart the the end of the road .then she said that dalan was coming to the pond ,so i drove to the driveway and when i seen him coming around the corner he was going about 70 mph and he slammed on the brakes and turned in the driveway and he followed me to the pond .he gave us all a hug when he stoped to get out.
If you are not happy, your thoughts and your emotions are not happy. Complaining, sadness, hopelessness, worry, jealousy, hatred, blame, doubt, disappointment, overwhelming, annoyance, and on and on it goes. All of these things contribute to the decline of your happiness and health in a big way.
