I lay beneath the pale, blue light of a rumbling bus traveling through the winding mountains of West Virginia. The quiet tones of ivory keys on a piano playing through my earbuds. I am surrounded by my sleeping peers. All of them most likely dreaming of our destination; “The Happiest Place on Earth” aka Disney World. I however am terrified. I am struck with a fear new to me. Not a fear of ghosts or murderers, but a fear of my own insignificance. I can’t sleep, these thoughts in my head keep spinning and screaming at me. Shouldn’t I be happy? I’m on my way to Disney World with all my friends. Why am I like this? Hours Before. Everyone is having fun, watching Inside Out, or playing games. I’m one of them. I’m on my phone watching Youtube Videos,
It’s 9:45 on a hot summer night. My seven-year-old fingers dripping with sweat. My brow, creased with concentration. I can’t hear anything anymore. Suddenly, click! Finally, the last plastic brick is put into place. The three foot black and grey aircraft carrier, which had fallen completely apart twice, was finally finished. It had taken an entire month, a tearful, agonizing, and unforgiving month. I did not know it then, but I had an aha moment.
I will never forget my trip to Six Flags, St. Louis. This all started when I was fourteen years of age. My step dad, who lived in St. Louis, decided to invite me to visit for the summer. I was so excited to go! When the day came he pulled up at my house he asked me if I had all my stuff ready I said, “Yes sir! Let’s go!” Then my step dad’s family and I piled into the two cars and hit the road. The whole ride there I thought about all the things I wanted to do at Hurricane Harbor and Six Flags.
My family and I traveled to Six Flags this summer for a family vacation. Six Flags is located outside of Atlanta,Georgia. While traveling to Six Flags we stopped at the Birmingham Zoo. when going down the Goliath,I panicked and started to scream. We rode another roller coaster and my fear became more magnified. We also rode the bumper cars and my brother ran into me. We didn't want to spend our summer patrolling the neighborhood on our scooters. We also went because we didn't work interfering with our family time. We wanted to go somewhere fun and exciting. While dinning at our vacation this summer we saw a chef chopping vegtables. The weekend we went to Six Flags qualified as a vacation. On our trip to Six Flags my brother interfered with
I don’t ever want to forget the day we went to Six Flags. In the morning I woke up my parents at 9:00 in the morning so we can get there early and get tickets. Next, I ask my friend if he can come and he said “Sure I’ll come”. So, when my friend was ready to go we left to Six Flags Great Adventure. In addition, when we got there we started off with the games. My friend and I were versing each other on different games. We also went into the haunted house. When we got bored we went on the roller coaster. We went on Superman, Green Lantern, and the Joker, and the most coolest part the Ferris Wheel! After that, we took a break and got back to the rides. Later, when we were tired out, we went home.
"More than anything, I just want you to know that there is more than one person you can lean on. You may have someone up their who you are relying on, but you have two incrediably strong sons who would never wish to see their mother in pain like this. Whatever the outcome we finally get your boys will be strong for you and in return I'm sure you will be strong for them."[/b]
I remember a day when I was walking in the Six Flags theme park in Texas with my best friend. The smell of popcorn and candy and the feeling of excitement from the little kids coming for the first time with the grandparents just enjoying the family experience. We were walking down the winding stone pathways, waiting for our next adventure at every turn. Trying not to leave our parents behind, we ran ahead enough to be in eyesight, but we were going at our own pace. He and I stood amazed at the sight of the gigantic rides as their shadows were cast down over us. The mini-shops and food stand would attract our little noses at the sight and smell of every peculiar food and trinket imaginable. My Friend, Rhett, suggested we go try a roller coaster. At first, I thought he was just joking around trying to scare me. I asked him what he really wanted to do and after that I realized that he wasn’t joking.
Today I remember the time I was able to participate in The Disney World Thanksgiving Day Tour/parade .It is the day of and I am about to get in line for the parade.I am behind Magic Kingdom where all of the magical Disney Characters are getting prepared to go out into the wonderful Magic Kingdom..
I met the love of my life at the Disney Store. As disgusting as it is, I have been drinking out of one cup for the past decade. This cute, pink cup crafted from engineering genius is able to hold exactly one cup of water without spilling over making for quite a useful substitute measuring cup. It features Marie, the little sister kitten from my, at the time, favorite movie “The Aristocats” encased in a sparkly, semi snow globe type contraption. Unless offered a disposable cup, I simply refuse to drink out of any other glass.
My heart palpitates as I walk into Disney World, it seems like something out of a dream. For a moment I desire only one thing, that my family was beside me in this journey, but I quickly relinquish the thought knowing that wasn’t possible. I then let out a sigh, blinking away the tears that seemed to have already formed in my eyes. “Keep your focus” I quickly and strictly muttered to myself as I wander around the theme park.
Disney is truly the happiest place on earth. Every kid wants to go,but does every kid get to go? I'm going and i can't fully wrap my head around the idea that on September 15th-I'll see Mickey Mouse and all the marvels of Disney!
Excited. That is what I was, I was in the car riding to Universal Studios in Florida and I was eager to get there. I couldn't wait to ride all the rides, and see all the insane things to see. But there was one in particular. The Harry Potter ride.
I could feel the excitement fluttering inside of me. The last of summer was drifting away, but I was still wearing one of my favorite sundresses. It made me feel like a princess, as did most things at 10 years old. I was preparing the snacks for the upcoming movie night I was going to have with my mom. This was a frequent pastime of ours that became an event to look forward to after a week at middle school, which consisted of rowdy kids and the smell of peanut butter and jelly sandwiches. Pop! Pop! Pop! The aroma of butter from the microwave fueled my enthusiasm further. I grabbed the steaming bowl and leaped to my mother’s master bedroom. I had insisted we watch our movie in her room, since her king sized bed and looming TV screen
I woke up from my slumber that felt like I’ve been sleeping for a thousand years. The aching, sore muscles that had built up on my body from the past three days had all vanished. I rose from the bed and went to the dining room, but there--standing in the middle of the room was General Zaroff.
“It’s my turn to use the bathroom!” Evan screeched while pounding his fist on the door.
There I was holding the XBOX controller with my mouth wide open. I knew this summer was going to be AWESOME! It all started on a beautiful summer day. My mom and I were heading to my aunts Luz’s house. My aunt ,Luz, told my mom about a trip she and my uncle, Oscar, had in mind since the first day of summer, but didn’t tell us where, when, or how.
