My first “Mud Bowl” football game I ever played in was in sixth grade the team I played for was Aviston. We were playing at Mater Dei practice fields it was raining and there was standing water on the field but we were still going to play. We were playing against the Bartelso Germantown Football team which we called Big Girl Football because of the letters they had on their uniforms BGFB and Aviston had been beating their team since before I played, so we were confident we were going to win. We did but not after a hard played game with people slipping and sliding all over the field. It was a nice day for football it was cool outside it was raining. All the conditions were perfect and every football player dreamed about playing a game in this …show more content…
So I did and got the tackle and we were all pumped. We lined up for defense and since I was a right side linebacker I was told to make sure the running back did not get past me when they snapped the ball I watched and waited. He went left and I had to wait and watch for a reverse and by time I saw there was no reverse our left side linebacker had already tackled the running back. Next play same thing happened then on third down and four yards to go they went right and I was the first one to hit the running back and as I was tackling him our cornerback came up and hit him as well since the ball was wet from rain the running back fumbled and our corner jumped on the ball and it was our ball on the opposite twenty-four yard line. We lined up for offense and I lined up behind the quarterback and was ready to receive the handoff and i got excellent blocking and I ran the ball in to the end zone 8-0 us. Then we ran a quarterback sneak and scored for the two point conversion. The rest of the first quarter was spent alternating between offense and defense. They would get the ball and fumbled, punt it away, turn it over on downs. Then we would get the ball and have to punt it or fumble or turn it over on downs. The first of four eight minute quarters ended with the score still
Since it was my very first varsity game I was extremely nervous and scared to let my team down. On the first drive I was called out to punt from the back of our end zone. I prepared myself for the worst because our starting long snapper was injured, so my long snapper was a tight end who had never snapped before in his life. The ball ended up being snapped 3 ft over my head and about 10 ft to my left, so I sprinted to get under the ball, jumped
I played for the Williamstown Braves when I was six years old and I was in the 70’s A-team and played offensive and defensive tackle. The day had to have been the coldest of the year, and I was about to play the South Jersey Championship football game against Pennsauken.
I got off the bus in a hurry to get some fresh air because that bus was filled with New York air. I saw the field that we were going to play on and we slowly walked up to the field. All of us were nervous to put on a show. We all had butterflies in our stomachs.
When I first started thinking about college schools I never thought about going to MSU or Ole Miss. I wanted to go to the bigger universities, but I knew I wouldn’t do well if I went there my first year. My high school did not prepare me enough for University, and I hadn’t decided on a major either. I choose East Central Community College (ECCC) as the school I would go to for many reasons, and when I got here I knew I made the right choice.
I did not meet with Pt. , I was paged by Lisa Micciulla, front desk in the emergency room to please come to the ED concerning an "urgent" situation regarding this Pt. When I arrived in the ED registration area an MGH Security personnel stopped me to talk with Pt's daughter, Charlene McDonald. Pt's daughter explained she was not being allowed to see her father, who she understands was brought to MGH for surgery after a fall. Explained to Ms. McDonald, I was aware of Pt having a gaurdian, and that there was a court ordered visitation schedule between Ms. McDonald and Pt. She reported this was an extreme situation and she showed me text messages she had sent to Pt's guardian, Attorney Tine Hajjar. I advised I could not allow Ms. McDonald access to Pt. Based on the order from probate court. Ms. McDonald has visits with Pt on Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday 11:00 a.m. -4:00 p.m.
I remember it like it was yesterday; looking out at the defense and trying to decide on which play to call. I was in the single biggest game of my high school football career so far. It was my first time playing the Evangel Eagles, our biggest rival and the back to back state champions. It was my freshman year, and I was the starting quarterback. So there I was, my fourth high school football game as a starter and playing against some of the biggest guys I had ever laid eyes on, who, coincidently, all wanted to tear me limb from limb. I gazed out at eleven hostile pairs of eyes across from me and racked my brain for what play could possibly work to get us into the endzone. There was just under two minutes left in the game and we were up by
On March 4th, 2018, I, Officer Albert, was working as a Police Officer for the Wichita State University Police Department. At approximately 0150 hours I was dispatched to Shocker Hall for a suspicious character report. The suspicious character was a white male wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt riding a skateboard. I arrived at approximately 0151 hours on the south side of Shocker Hall and walked down the south steps towards the courtyard. Officer Andrew Abbey was on scene talking with an individual fitting the suspicions character description, see Officer Abbey's report. I spoke with the individual later identified as Tyler Micol Dane Kuhn. Kuhn's eyes were glassy and his pupils were large. Kuhn's hands were shaking and he seemed confused. Kuhn wasn't able to
The ball was thrown and it was to me, a fifth grader. I caught the ball and started running for the touchdown when out of the corner of my eye I saw the biggest guy on their team gaining yards. I tried to split into center field, then I was lifted up and thrown to the ground. Darkness fastly approached.
It was that week. The time where all the pressure was on us-the eighth grade Lady Elites. We practiced every day of the week from 3:30 to 6. We scrimmaged the seventh grade, shot free throws, and went over plays. The last time the Lady Elites won PAC was in 2012. Everyone was telling us we need to win. It was so nerve-wrecking.
After a sleepless night Saturday finally came around. As the team warmed up for the game I began to have butterflies. At last the first whistle was blown to start the game. Eventually it was time for are offensive unit to go in. On the very first drive I powered my way threw the the line of scrimmage and broke a huge 30 yard touchdown.
I heard her coming so I quickly ran back to my room before she noticed. When I got to my room I started to sob quietly but I had to keep it together because I needed to remember to get Lulu back and to do whatever I could to keep my dog. After I pulled it together I called my friend and she told me she could come over tomorrow so we could make a plan to find my dog and keep her. Then once we got off the phone I went into my mom’s room and sat on the bed.
She was more than just a nanny, she made the girls feel like family. She's very dependable, willing to do what it takes to be our 2nd hand. She's self driven never did we have to wonder at any time that our kiddos were not in the best hands they could possibly be in. She always planned the day with something productive and fun. I knew Evie and Vanna was her priority. She found ways to turn learning into a fun activity, always setting goals for them and herself. She practiced a healthy lifestyle with them with diet and excercise. They were treated as if they were her own. We seen this in everything she did, her motivation to not only be a baby sitter but to be a role model, teacher, leader and their everything when we couldn't be. She involved
Pounding your head against an obstacle until your ears hemorrhage due to an seemingly unattainable objective that people prior have failed to accomplish. This is what a community needs: people continually trying to get a common goal accomplished, people who share this characteristic do great things in life. Being determined is what drives people to get things done. Failure to give up when the going gets tough is one trait that describes me. Throughout my life, I have motivated my peers by example. Even when I fail, I show that it’s always possible to get back up.
Then the 134 arrived. I got on, showed my pass to the bus driver and
groaned, “I apologize for shouting last night but I have been over this with you
