When I first started thinking about college schools I never thought about going to MSU or Ole Miss. I wanted to go to the bigger universities, but I knew I wouldn’t do well if I went there my first year. My high school did not prepare me enough for University, and I hadn’t decided on a major either. I choose East Central Community College (ECCC) as the school I would go to for many reasons, and when I got here I knew I made the right choice. The first reason I decided to go to ECCC is because it offered me a scholarship to pay for my tuition here and a few other smaller scholarships. When I was looking for a school to go to the scholarship for tuition played a major role in a decision. I had other offers from other schools, but this school
On 08/04/16 at 8:42pm, I was dispatched to 2087 S. Hamilton Rd, on a injury dangerous or vicious dog/injured dog, serious injury, involving a Columbus Police Officer (CPD) being bit by a dog and shooting dog. I arrived at the location. I was advised my CPD personnel that the CPD Officer that was bite was transported to the hospital and that the dog was still breathing. I was escorted to the area where the dog was. The dog was on the ground, next to the dog was dog owner Jackie Fate. I was unable to see any visible injuries to the dog, the dog had shallow breathing. I asked Ms. Fate to wrap the leash around the dog’s mouth to prevent the dog from biting her or me while I placed the dog on the stretcher. Ms. Fate complied, I slowly guided the dog on the
Going to college, is where your journey in life really begins. Choosing the right college for you is one of the biggest decisions you make in life. I choose California Baptist University to enhance my studies, meet people pursuing the same passion as I am, and become closer to God.
East Carolina University is and has always been a dream school for many students including myself. I have grown up hearing about the University and it is nothing short of spectacular. Many family members of mine have attended East Carolina, and I have always pictured myself at this school. It would be an honor to be a pirate. Throughout high school I have struggled in Science and Math. I know I could have done better in high school but in life you can always do something better, im eager to push myself more and work harder than ever to succeed as an adult, if given the chance There are many times when I should I have put school in front of my extra curricular activities such as dancing, art, work, tennis, and swimming. However, all of those
I chose to attend LaGuardia Community College because this school was recommended by family members who had attended this college. Many people had told me that I would receive a lot of help with academic advising and other resources. At first, I was hesitant of coming to LaGuardia Community College, but I am happy with my decision. I think I have made the most out of my time at LaGuardia Community College. I have managed to keep my grades up and am a part of Phi Thetta Kappa Honor Society and on the Dean's List for Academic Achievement.
During my senior year of high school, I made the decision to attend the local community college while my friends and classmates choose to attend state colleges and big universities. I wanted to attend a small college, because I came from a small town. It was also cheaper for me to attend a community college and commute from home to school. In High school I wondered if I was making the right decision. I had a lot of people tell me I should go to a state college or university instead of a community college, because I wouldn't get the "college experience." Now into my sophomore year of college at Northeast Community College, I believe choosing a community college was one of the best decisions I ever made. This college has provided me with a number
In order to fully prepare for college, I first had to decide and know where I am going, and what I am going to do there. For this, I decided to go to Georgia Institute of Technology. This school is where I want to go, because my mother went there, and ever since I was a child, I have wanted to go there. It is located in Georgia (where I mostly grew up in), so that would give me the chance to live
Ever since I was a kid I have always thought about what college I was eventually going to go to. I made the decision in high school that I wanted to be a special education teacher, so I thought about some schools that had that teaching program. My number one school I wanted to attend that had the best teaching program was East Carolina University. Having ECU as my number one choice lead me to apply there. Weeks after I applied I got a letter telling me some sad news that I was not accepted. Since I applied to ECU and did not get in, I was now thinking about applying to other schools like Methodist University or maybe a community college.
I chose to come to community college because I felt it would better benefit me. Most four year universities have difficult obstacles to overcome. Distractions like parties, and other social things can be hard to ignore. For better focus and judgment I chose to come to Faulkner state. Also, I heard good things about the college on how they didn’t tolerate parties and the use of alcohol or drugs and the instructors have good relationships with their students, and to this day I find that very true. Another thing is when I was in the industrial contracting industry I knew going back to school was going to make me happy and make me feel like I had a purpose for my calling in the medical field of radiology. I knew I would feel fulfilled and it would
I selected UNC-Chapel Hill because it is close to home, which is something my parents have a longing for, and because it offers many diplomas in contrasting majors. UNC offers 78 bachelors, 112 masters, 68 doctorates and seven professional degree programs as well as 70 distinct majors (www.unc.edu/academics/). This school would be an exquisite place for me to figure out my goals and accomplish them. UNC-Chapel Hill is the earliest state university in the nation, this university has over two centuries of history, including overcoming segregation and has information on all of its first African students in each major (https://museum.unc.edu).
The top school I chose so I am able to the education and get the things I need is Chapel Hill University because I am a UNC fan and it also wouldn’t be that for of a drive for me to go there and I would only be a few hours from home .
There were many reasons why I chose UIC as my first favorite university. The reasons were that it was a city school, diverse, tuition, and an extra benefit was that many of friends go there. I knew there were lots of students from Pakistan which also was a big reason for me because Maine East was very diverse. This was the school I wanted to get into very much. Nothing has changed between then and now. Obviously, I didn't get excepted when I applied the first time after high school. The great part was that Oakton Community College basically gave me a second chance to be able to go to UIC. And I definitely have not taken that for granted. Being at Oakton has changed me in a way. Oakton made me mature with my decisions and also made me more of an extrovert. Whenever I look back at my pictures from high school and before even I tell myself I would never be friends with this guy. Whenever someone looks at those pictures they ask if that was really me I say no. Back then I didn't care about my haircut, clothing, and was very
What first drew me to UNCW was actually my friends. Many of my friends expressed interest, so naturally, I also looked into it. This was the first stepping stone on my path towards UNCW. As I looked more into it, I learned that UNCW was one of the best colleges for what was initially my intended major of Marine Biology. Although my major has morphed into Environmental Science, UNCW is
I decided at a very young age that I wanted to attend a Historically Black College or University, but I was not sure which one. Growing up witnessing so many of my family members graduating from HBCUs and becoming successful, professional black figures in my life made me realize that a HBCU was the right fit for me. People have always told me that you will have a gut feeling when you have found the perfect school for you. I never truly understood what that meant until I visited Hampton University.
Why choose ECC? It’s a simple question. That being said, the journey to ECC is a whole different story. The best way to tell this story is by being honest about why I never wanted to come here, the choice I originally made, and how that all ended myself at Elgin Community College. With all that in mind, Let’s start from the beginning.
The College of Southern Maryland (CSM) was the right choice for me because I did not know for sure what I wanted to major in, or what general path I wanted to take. Although I was eager to get the full college experience of decorating the dorm to going to big parties. I had to make a trade off to wait for those things and go to CSM first because I was not about to waste my family's money, and rush into a university only to find out that they do not have my major. So many people have told me their story of how they went a year or two into college, and decided to change their major because that was something they didn't want to do for the rest of their life.
