Personal Narrative Essay: Basketball Starters

Jamie goes out on the court. He is feeling nervous because he is afraid that he will use his last streak of good luck. He dribbles the ball down the court. His heart is pounding. Jamie gets the ball. He goes to shoot it. He is hoping he will miss, but the ball swooshes into the basket. Everyone in the ground goes crazy! They just won the game. Everyone is happy except for Jamie. Jamie gets cheered by his team. They make their way to the locker room to change. As Jamie is coming up to the hallway Jamie runs into Froggy.

The book starts off with Coach Giminski shouting out “Layup Drill” louder than all the basketballs on the court pounding against the wall the floor, the backboard, and the net: everything! After the coaches attempt to get the “Wildcats”. The team of a bunch of 7th graders in the rising stars league to pause for instructions to preform some layup drills on the court. The coach paused for a moment and thought why not make this a little more fun for the team and said that there not going to do scrimmage today unless the score 20 in a row. From the start until halftime the game was going very well, but after halftime it started going downhill. With five minutes left Billy's team was up by only 4 points, they knew it would be a close one. The team started to rally and they held Billy’s team scored 6 points. The coach, with 5 seconds left in the game, exclaimed, ¨TIMEOUT!¨ The team gathered on the sidelines heads down and gathered around coach. It was two weeks before the state championship game and Ella and her team had been working really hard to win. Every year Ella's team had made it to state and every year they had lost in the first round. Ella wanted to change that this year and so far it looked like Ella and her team were on the right track. They got up at 5 AM every morning to go to practice at 5:30 and then turned around to go to practice at 3 everyday after school. Their coach drilled them so hard that they could've done every play, drill, and made every shot in their sleep.

In the first season, they are wider and Lindsley carries the team to state but the sad losses the create the inner circle where they can trust each as one family. They win their first game ahead by 68 points They make it to state and have a tough time, in the beginning, They tie 58:58 as they go into overtime. The issue hears in that that private coach was sexually assaulting her she came out to the global police and news and went to trial she one and is now in Africa teaching kids how to play basketball.

High school basketball superstars Danny Wilcox and Terrell Jamerson are going to a summer camp to play basketball, when they first get there no one notices Danny but then he starts to improve his playing style. Then Terrell gets mixed in with a bad reporter and gets Terrell "lit". Danny knows from the time he sees Terrell's eyes and he tries to get him eye drops before anyone sees him and that’s just when Danny's father walks in and he knew too. The next day was friday it was time for the game Heffay went to practice while Quan stayed home to rest. Quan ate before the game Quan knew was going to win the game. Brubakers group and there were mostly girls than boys in the group. Some of the kids in Mr. Brubakers group was not paying attention they were just whispering to each other. While he was showing them how to shoot layups all of the students were all sitting together except one girl she was sitting alone. The teacher asked for anyone wanted to help, and two boys volunteered to shoot in front of the group and the one kid tried to make it in one the first try and it hit the bottom of the basketball hoop and slammed to the ground almost hitting the boy, but the other boy made it in. One Saturday morning the hopeful winners of the Broomfield shootout. Also they were facing arsenal the best team in the other bracket.Then Broomfield did there warmup they jogged, then they passed and moved then they sat and waited for the game to start so they did not waste too much energy. Nate has been desperately trying to win a game against Ben, who had never lost a game against Nate or anyone who didn’t play on the basketball team.
