thump Thump THUMP BOOM, “GET UP SOLDIER THIS IS A BATTLE GROUND NOT A BED Thomas blitzfield get up and shoot the dang nazis”! Major strongmen shouted at thomas who was knocked out by the motor that exploded near him. As he stumbled to his torn boots he gets knocked down again but this time by one of his squad members rien ” you should know better to stand up in a fight with a German tank”. Thomas had completely forgotten that there was a tiger tank involved,to be honest he had forgotten he was in a battle in the first place. As he slowly came to his senses (mind)and knelt on the ground instead of standing on his feet. He and 34 other soldiers were trapped against a army of 200 soldiers with much bigger fire power then them that was not including …show more content…
Maybe it was the fear or the adrenaline (exitment)but thomas Didn’t stop running it was like he was being controlled to move but he got there in time before he got shot again he looked out of the house and saw the bodys of his fellow men including ronald his brother. He was so furious he wanted to run up to the germans and kill them but he knew he had to be worryful of the sniper that could kill him but for now he has to focus on his leg before he focuses on anything else. He looked at his leg and saw it was badly bleeding and had to bandage it quickly so he didn’t bleed out so he took fabric (cloth)from a nearby couch and tied it around the wound and put his hand on the couch and stood up he hadn’t realised that he wasn’t the only person in the house rein,jj and a couple of other men were looking at him “ you guys alright” thomas asked cautiously “ we should be asking you that question your the one with a bullet hole through his leg” rein said with a smile. “ yeah you look like you we’re in a fight with a tank” robert said laughing and then coughing “i know we lost a lot of people just now but we need to finish this fight or at least take out some nazis before we get killed” thomas said this sincerely “hoorah” everyone shouted in unison. Thomas picked up his kar98 and slowly crept up the stairs. Some of boards were rooten and broken he got in his position lay down and looked through the sight and saw the rest of the group slowly going down the hill guns ready and loaded. Crack crack crack gun fire but not his teams or the Germans it was another surviving part of the group Thomas looked where he heard the gun fire and saw a group of about 8. He was thankful that he and his group weren’t the only survivors but he
‘He’d sneak in while the german’s were sleeping and instead of killing them, he’d steal their boots, other times he’d sit their throats without making a sound with the moccasins he wore’. On February 8, 1944 Thomas, pretended to be a farmer to repair a reconnaissance wire until the ‘noses’ of the enemy. This act rewarded him the Military Medal
My hands were covered in blood.. It was only a matter of time till they caught me.. I could hear the roaring of the wind. The heavy breathing coming from my own chest.. My stomach ached in pain. I could feel the tears beginning to escape from my eyes...
Shells and bullets whiz past the soldiers heads. Boom, a bomb goes off in no man’s land. Fellow comrades have been hit and are bleeding as if they were a spout. Whiz boom, more explosions come and go all day. Who will be hit next? This is the daily life of a soldier in World War I. Other than the physical challenges, one of the hardest parts of being a soldier was surviving with an amount of sanity. To maintain their sanity many soldiers created physiological defense mechanisms to defend their mind set and emotional state. In the war novel All Quiet on the Western Front the main character, Paul, and his company use these physiological defense mechanisms to maintain sanity by forgetting, not thinking, and joking, about the atrocious
This is the end, i’m sorry I have to leave you. You have grown so much since the first time I had seen you. I will miss you. At that moment, I realized that I won’t get to see America grow even more than it already has... Ok, before I give away anything else, let’s go to this morning, before all of this happened. It was Friday, April 14, 1865, 7:08am when my wife Mary came into my bedroom and made me the usual breakfast in bed. She got me 1 egg and a cup of coffee. After I got out of bed I went to my office and worked for a while.
One day in 7th grade at 6th block it was almost time for Eogs to begin actually they were the following monday and i was talking to natalie.Mr.Clark was talking about something that really bored me ,so talking to natalie was pretty much my only option.I really should of payed attention but you know it was almost the end of the year and no one really payed attention. He wanted us to take notes so i pulled out a bunch of paper.Everybody kept asking me for paper so i got very annoyed.
We narrowly made it out of the airport. Hank almost got taken down because he got distracted. These infrasound weapons were devastating, but had a major drawback, one that almost cost my best friend his life.
A jagged pain arcs across my chest as I take in a breath. My legs grind up one after the other, barely moving but still pushing me forward. The runners ahead of me continue to press on, legs becoming a blur as they widen the gap. Eyes glancing up for a split-second, I find a primitive strength rising up within me, something that says No. You are not done yet. Throwing my arms higher and feeling my body ache even more, I set my gaze on a tree that lines the top of the hill, and I gradually increase the length of my strides, slowly but surely catching up with the group that was about to leave me behind. As we pound around the corner and begin to coast downhill, I release a small sigh of relief, despite my exhausted lungs. I may have won a battle, but the war continues, and we continue to
They were everywhere we went. We ran down the dark alley. They were right behind us. We turned down another alley only to find a dead end. They were already walking towards us, blocking the only exit. We were surrounded. There was nothing we could do. We were out of ammunition and had no other weapons. I stood in front of the group ready to protect them at all costs.
“James, JAMES!” My mom screamed. I stared at my alarm clock, 8:15 I thought about it, And ran downstairs and hid in the stairwell under the basement. They've come for me again, my mom has hidden all the boys in my family for 10 years. Every year the interdimensional travel police come looking for boys on the summer solstice to recruit for the war of the multiverse. The war for the ownership of Earth 1. I am from the original earth. But we had to leave. Earth is known a battlefield of the war. One day I would like to see my home. My family believes the war is pointless, mostly because everybody just wants control over Earth 1. As I walked out of the crawlspace and see the soldiers and walk towards them, their armor is shining a black and frightening
Every month a gunship would escort cargo that would help scrape the fighters by, but the interval between each drop was filled with complaints and brawls. At one point in the standoff, soldiers were too exhausted to smart off; sunken, sleep deprived eyes staring off into space. Enough adrenaline was fueled in their bodies when the fights started and reignited at that time to make them hyperactive the rest of their lives. Adrenaline was the safest way Tank could forget about his surroundings, and focus on his primary instinct:
I gradually slowed from a run to a walk before coming to a complete stop. I started to listen to my heart instead of my mind as it was corrupted by a fear so profound that it made my blood run cold every time the thought arrived in my head. I never should have left my platoon. It was a mistake. They had always been there for me even when I didn’t think I needed them, but now when they needed me I let them all down. I knew I was weak and that’s why I had run away but it wasn’t my fault that I was here. It wasn’t my decision but the government and its conscription policy. What did the government know about fighting in a war? Why don’t they allow any of their children fight instead of someone else’s? I turned around and started heading back deeper into the jungle that I had come from.
The narrator states, “ Then he walked in a citizenly way to the end of the car, where he pulled the emergency cord.”
I could feel the warmth from the sun hugging my skin, I took a sip of my cold drink as the ice touched my lips. My feet were deep in the sand as i heard the waves crash on the beach. I realized that this was the first time that i had been alone with peace and quietness. We were scheduled to move out in two days. I never thought that the war would be so vicious and painful. Back in New York all they said was that you would be back in two months crowned a hero. This was my second year deployed, my platoon was deep into Vietcong territory. We had fought through jungles, rice paddies and quicksand. Most of us hated everything about this god forsaken country. Before two years ago I had never heard of Vietnam, most of us wouldn't have been able to
Christmas arrived during my first week home after my discharge from the army. I had been stateside six months, and when I woke up, I felt like I lost my marbles. I mean I wondered if I was an addict, an alcoholic, or insane.
Suddenly there was a loud explosion in the front of our truck. VC guerrillas had just fired a B40 mortar at the convoy. The truck in two positions ahead of ours immediately flipped over horizontally and partially blocked the road. It was not known if the truck got hit by the mortar or the driver had lost control of the steering wheel. Subsequently; the convoy stopped and all of us simultaneously jumped out of the trucks, like bees when their beehive was attacked. We dived to locations along the banks of the rice field on two sides of the road, to avoid the bullets and to return fire at the enemy. I looked to the left side of the road and saw Second Lieutenant Thạch, our Company Commander, was boldly leading a troop mounting a counter
