Evan kept off the interstate for a while sticking to back roads and changing directions periodically to make sure he wasn’t being tailed. Liam was getting fussy sitting on his mother’s lap for so long and as a result started to whine incessantly. Angela then suggested that they find a place to stay for the night. “We’ll stop there for the time being and figure out what we’re going to do,” Evan said as he nodded towards a brown-brick building just off to the right. “A bowling alley?” replied Angela. “Fair amount of people, good cover, he won’t suspect to find us there.” “You mean a good amount of collateral damage to provide a shield if need be, like that girl at the restaurant—the waitress,” Angela responded. Evan remained silent. They pulled into the parking lot maneuvering the GTO behind a large pickup. Angela got out with Liam while Evan headed straight for the rear of the vehicle. He popped the trunk exposing several black-plastic cases. He then grabbed one that was the size of a briefcase, faced it forward and opened it. Inside laid two 40 caliber semi-automatic handguns at lock back. A shoulder harness lay next to them at the rear of the …show more content…
Half drunk and clinically overweight people could be seen scattered throughout as they went about their business, many of them donning the same mechanic style shirt. It must be league night, Evan thought to himself as he looked around taking in the environment. He then spotted a dimly lit lounge off to his left that was sparsely populated. “In there,” he said, nodding to Angela as she stood next to him holding Liam’s hand. “The bowlers will be busy with their league; we’ll have a little privacy in there for
In February of 2008, I was sitting in a General Court Martial proceeding to defend myself against third-degree murder charges, which arose from a raid my platoon conducted in the rural areas outside of Kirkuk, Iraq. On the night of June 23, 2007, my Platoon Sergeant (PSG) shot and killed a detainee that we had captured early that evening. Realizing what he had just done, my PSG gave me an order that would eventually have me implicated in his crime. I was acquitted of the murder charges, but found guilty of assault through my own testimony. The fact of the matter is, I had a psychotic Platoon Sergeant; Trey Corrales was the walking definition of “Toxic Leadership.” Under the control of Trey Corrales, serving in this platoon was one of the
So when I first got there I had the idea that it was a mock trial. It was not until we start and they started going over the history of the Texas Supreme Court and how they are able to travel thought the state did I realize that the court cases were real. Which, I am glad that they were real cases because that would have been boring if they were mock. So once I got that all right in my head I started to focus on the cases the first one was at some point difficult to follow to quote my friend who’s in high school “I don’t get why everybody is so mad about so ranch there is plenty of it at Walmart at leas that’s what that one dude said”. Now, my friends, he is the class clown, so I knew it was a joke but he did ask me “for real why did he keep
My full name is Samantha Taylor Miller, I am a criminal justice major. I am from Little Falls, New York. I currently live in North Hall with my roommate, who is also my close friend from high school. Although Little Falls is only about thirty minutes from UC, I am glad I chose to live on campus because I have met so many new people as a result of living in the resident's hall.
Casey had a hard time understanding what happened to all the evidence. “I don’t suppose the evidence is misplaced and is somewhere else in the building?”
Since he did not frequent bars and was not sure which one might be tolerable, on his walk home from work, he marched into the first watering hole he spotted in a strip mall. He hadn’t noticed the name of the place, but once inside, the dim light, tacky floors, and funk of stale beer made it clear this was not an upscale establishment, but it was too late to turn around. Besides, did it really matter where he swilled tequila?
I could not believe what I had just said, I said it so hastily that I thought no one had heard me, but the judge clearly heard me say “The defense moves to indict Isabella Moores of first degree murder.” Everybody in the courtroom was speechless, “This so called witness was planning to murder her mother since she ran away from home, all because her mother was constantly abusing her and I have evidence to prove it!”
Officer Gordon comes quickly up to me and says “Chief Lussen we found him” and that officer Miles is taking him into the interrogation room. As I take a second to myself and take a deep breath officer Gordon passes me files for the case. I walk towards the interrogation room but i wanted to look at him before I walked in and started interrogating him. So I looked at him through the observation mirror into the interrogation room and thought to me all my years of working as a homicide investigator this case is the case that has shocks me the most. 37 residents that live in the neighborhood and saw & even heard something or someone yelling on the street didn't even call the police.
I attend John Jay College of Criminal Justice not only to further my education, but also to take care of my family. My mother passed away when I was only six years old; however, I have a brother, two sisters, a grandmother who knows what struggle is, and a father who cannot find the words to define his love for my mother. At no point she was hesitant about being a mother to her four young grandkids. I always knew she was an important part of my childhood, but I had never truly understood how she influenced me until a much older age.
I quickly woke up to the sounds of loud sirens, I have no idea what is going on as I try to regaining my position. I'm noticing my hands are cuffed as I start to quickly realize what is going on. I start to frantically panic as my eyes finally adjust to my surroundings. I see that I'm clearly in the back of a cop car. I observed that the police officer is seeing that he is periodically looking in the rear view mirror then back to the road. I irrationally start to spit out nonsense before I solidly ask him in a shaky voice, “w-w-whats going on, why am I in here?” He looks back at me, giving out a quick chuckle, “oh you clearly know what you did darling, don't act innocent.” I then reply back, quickly giving him a confused stare “n-no
Evan dropped down to his knees still holding an unconscious Alex and now bleeding out of his left bicep where the broken glass had caught him. “Help us please!” he cried out to the officers. “My wife, Felicia, been shot. Oh, God please help us!!!”
Your Honor, at this time I am urged to ask you why you are crying for these two men. Let us not forget the afternoon of May 21. After six months of planning the perfect crime, Mr. Leopold and Mr. Lobe coaxed the young Bobby Franks into their car while he was walking home from school. Once Bobby had been lured into the vehicle, Loeb bludgeoned the poor child over the head multiple times with a chisel. After finding that unsuccessful Loeb dragged Bobby into the back seat and forced a sock down his throat and waited for him to finally suffocate. After the murder, the two men drove the body to Wolf Lake where they poured hydrochloric acid over Bobby's face, abdomen, and genitals. Once they mutilated and dismembered the body, they discarded Bobbys remains in a drain, and then they drove home to write a ransom note and spend the evening playing a leisurely game of cards. And why? Why would these two scholars do something so sinister? Because they were bored. Because they wanted a rush. Because they could. Your Honor, do you still sympathize with these two murders?
In this exposition, 3 girls were tied up against their will and drowned in Tampa Bay. Forensic anthropologist and autopsy reports came back that they had been in the ocean for about three days, but weren’t deposited off the shoreline, they were driven out into the middle of the bay and thrown out. The investigator says it wasn’t a murder, but an execution.. Investigators went out and asked near them, where the father and the husband of these girls had been during the time these girls had gone missing. Furthermore, they went looking for the mother’s car and found notes in her vehicle, they found a note that had directions to the hotel also the boat ramp 25 miles from the boat ramp. They sent the notes to a forensic handwriting analysis, the
Ms. Watson, I am letting you to know that, I am 100 percent certain that there is nothing in that transcripts that shield light on how the child support were calculated. Beware that Ms. Lacy the opposite attorney, is one of the political contributor in that court room, this how they play the dirty game. Could you imagine a judge to say to you that it is your funeral for taken this case? At the hearing I tried to ask questions, but she wouldn't let me say anything, I know what to ask and when to challenge an irrelevant testimony, but anytime I do that, she warned me of jail term. I understand, you a lawyer, but Ms. Lacy is a dirty lawyer, she can't win a case in real court room, but that is how that court room is run. I will assure you that his so call Temporary order child support payment I wouldn't comply with it, until this issue is resolved. I am not a coward, and I am not threatening by jail, but I will do my very best. I am in the middle of complaint to the states commissioner on judicial conduct. I have personally recorded everything including the one she said today. All they are trying to do, is buying time to execute this dirty game. Your best option if I may suggest, is an open court request to talk to Judge Alecia. I am aware that every order should be accompanied with factual finding before a Judge can signed, however, in that court room, no one look at those fact, they just sign a bare asserted order drafted by a lawyer. I am very appreciative of your effort to know the truth behind this temporary order.
My interest in Criminal Justice began around the ages of 11 and 12 years old. I was really fascinated by any television show that involved the criminal justice system. I consumed a lot of my time watching shows such as In The Heat Of The Night, New York Undercover, and Law and Order SVU, just to name a few. As a child I would debate with my fellow peers, especially when I found a topic that I was very passionate about. For a moment, the plan was to become a lawyer. As I grew older, those plans had changed. By the time I had graduated high school, I had chosen a different path.
This is a “model” for answers, which will be posed to investigators by the exercise assessors. Since a significant criminal event could occur at any place and at any time. These answers will by a key to help investigators understand the abilities of multi-jurisdictional along with the advantages and disadvantages that could come into play. Investigators will be able to understand who is involved in deciding the use of a task force, legal issues that could face the task force, advantages and disadvantages of the task force, as well as, the collection and analysis of forensic and testimonial evidence, all while handling the public during a crisis. While it is perfectly possible, even predictable, that investigative needs will be beyond the
