Hi I am St. Alyssa I am also known as St Alice. I was born in Schaerbeek Belgium, 1204. I entered a Cistercian convent called Camera Sanctae Marie at the age of seven. I ended up getting leprosy. I was kept in isolation at all times but I always kept my head up no matter how much i was suffering or how sad I was. After being diagnosed with leprosy I then became blind and paralyzed. I stayed strong in my faith with the Holy Eucharist. I had many visions after. IN my visions Jesus apeared and told me to not be afraid because i would be saved in heaven. I was never aloud to drink from the chalice at mass because of my contagious disease. I died June 11, 1250 at the age of 46. I am the patron saint of the sick and paralyzed people
Twenty-six years ago I a 17-year-old boy joined the United States Army. I served my country faithfully for 22 years, two months and four days; I served in the Transportation Corps. My time in the army was a special period in my life. I gain a lot of life experiences as well as professional ones; the military shaped and molded me into the husband, father son, and brother that I am today. During my service, I grew up and learned several life lessons that would serve me well in and out of the army. To get a real understand on how the military shaped me into the person, I am today; I must first give you some insight into the person I was before I left for basic training. I graduated high school in 1991 just four months’ shy of my 18th birthday;

It started as typical Tuesday with a couple of court hearings, maybe an arrest, but nothing to exciting. That all changed at dawn.
My saint is saint cecilia of Rome. Saint cecilia is the patroness of musicians. At her wedding musicians were there playing while she was there singing her heart to the lord. Her feast day is celebrated in the Latin Catholic church, Eastern Catholic church, Anglican church, and Eastern Orthodox churches on November 22. Saint Cecilia's full name is Saint Cecilia of Rome. In the fourth century a Greek romance on the Loves of Cecilia and Valerian was written in glory of virginal life with the purpose of taking the place of back then romances. Until better evidence is produced, we did not know about saint Cecilia until about the time when Pope Gelasius introduced her name into his Sacramentary. They said there was a church dedicated to St. Cecilia
I am Kaitlyn Zimmerman; and I am a traditional college student who is just now entering my sophomore year at Bethel College, where I am majoring in History and Humanities and minoring in Education. I have lived in Coloma, Michigan for the past four years after my family moved for my father’s job as a Christian school principle. Prior to this, we lived in New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and in India as missionaries. In addition to a love of traveling, I feel that our regular moves have caused me to form a strong bond with my family and to learn to depend on the Lord.
Twyla recommended I reach out and see if you would like to meet with me.
On April 26th,1999 I emerged into the world a happy baby given the name Bethany Gavin. I’m now in year 12 and I attend Cooks Hill Campus, Big Picture. My education began here in year 10 after leaving three years of home schooling and have grown as a student as the years have gone on.
I am Connie Alarcon a junior at Valley High School and my growth both personally and academically this school year has been one of the most mentally exhausting years of my life. This year truly made me mentally stronger, as well as changed me as a person and displayed academic growth in me , it taught me valuable things that I know will help me in the future. What this year truly taught me that i will forever value and always try to remember as I go through life is that at the end of the day I will be the only one who cares enough and has to fight for the future I want, nobody else will be able to fight for my future the one I want as much as I can and will.
Week one has passed by quickly! I think this week was very successful and I can say that I have learned many new things. This week has been an experience for me learning things about the business world. I am not a business major so I was not expecting to take these classes. I was assigned them, but have found them very beneficial. As I read through the first couple of chapters I read things I had heard before. This was a good thing that I could put the information with the terms I had heard previously.
My saint’s name is Saint Catherine of Alexandria, she was a martyr, her feast day was on November 25th. Catherine was an 18 year old girl who loved to read and study. She was well liked for both her beauty and intelligence, so Emperor Maxentius so he decided that he would be able to put up with both of them. Saint Catherine was not okay with that and refused to marry him. Roman gods were sent to her to try to convince her to marry him but she always had an excuse not to, so eventually the gods started changing their mind about Maxentius. She was imprisoned, however over two-hundred people went to go see her, including Maxentius wife but Catherine would still not change her way of thinking, she was very stubborn and stood up for what she
A saint is a person who is greatly honored for their piety and holiness that they displayed throughout their lives on earth. After death, the person’s life is studied and eventually will go through a process called canonization to officially become a saint. Saints all share many special qualities such as love, faith, courage and carelessness. Saint Alice of Schaerbeek revealed two of these qualities very strongly- faith and courage. She exhibited these qualities throughout her life which is why she gained the title of Saint.
I am St Teresa of Avila. My deeds of faith which were crucial in the counter reformation have been forgotten. But do not despair as I am here to tell you who I was. On the 28th of March 1515 in Avila, Spain, I was baptized into the Christian faith as Teresa Sánchez de Cepeda y Ahumada. My parents ensured that I was brought up a devout Catholic. As I learned about martyrs and saints I became inspired by them and even tried to become a martyr myself. At the age of 14, my beautiful and faithful mother died of disease. This catastrophe plunged me into a period of grief, my dear mother, dead… it pains me to this day. During my grieving, I became even more connected with our lord and especially Mother Mary. With my new found faith, I was sent to
I am from green oceans of grass that look like they are waving hello in the wind. I am from an ordinary town with ordinary people and extraordinary memories. I am from where wheat is the only thing you see for miles at a time. From crowded roads and Rodeo Street, where peaceful nights turn into morning rush hour and not everyday is the same. I'm from lucky red envelopes given on Lunar New Year. I am from Marian Days every year in Missouri. From dark brown eyes that almost look black. From being told "Never take things for granted." and "Work hard now so you want have to later." I'm from learning to have faith in God when all goes wrong. I am from Kansas, the state that has all four seasons in one week. And I'm from Vietnam, a place where everyone
In my family I am considered the artistic one, I love music and art. For me a quiet night at home would find me relaxing on the couch drawing as I watch netflix. My dream job would be to write and illustrate my own book. When I grow up the quality I would most like to emulate from my father, is his work ethic. He is one of the hardest working people I know. The best thing about my mom is how she deals with problems. SHe always reminds me to remember that people are always more important than the problem you face. I hope to handle my problems the same way.
I am Jessica and it is nice to meet you. Happy “late” birthday! It sounds like you and your husband are VERY busy. My first time in college I was going to become a RN; however, shortly after, I was diagnosed with Crohn’s Disease and all of the time in/out of the hospital and needles made me second guess that career.
