Laura, I just came back from copy center. Apparently, they don’t need me today. Also, Vlada is confused as to why I am showing up on Thursdays from 1pm to whenever time. She stated, “I am going to talk to Laura because I don’t understand why you have to be trained again on something I have already showed you”. As I have stated several times before, my reply was, “Vlada I am doing what Laura has ask me to do and that is to report to copy center on Thursdays for training. Please talk to Laura.” Furthermore, I had told them several times that I cannot report to copy center every Monday to see Vlada finalize the spreadsheet reports since I have classes on those days. Apparently, it seems that this is one and only day when Vlada updates the spreadsheet.
I went to your room at 3:00 and you had already left. I was going to borrow 2 of your literacy notebooks and 2 writing portfolios for our meeting this afternoon. I hope you don't mind helping myself by getting those 2 literacy notebooks and 2 writing folders which I will return tomorrow morning.
Walking away from everything you once knew and starting over is never a picnic. Leaving Iraq, and moving to America has impacted my life more than anything. I was only 4 years old at that time, and the only English I spoke was “excuse me, water please.” My family and I did not know it then, but our lives were going to change; we would become “Americanized”. Learning English was one of the massive changes that occurred, the way I dressed (culture), and even the way I had power to go to school and educate myself.
This past year, I have been apart of Naperville Central’s brand new Special Spaces club. When my friend approached me and asked me to join, I agreed even though I had no clue what I was involving myself in. In retrospective, I can honestly say that becoming a part of Special Spaces has been one of the most meaningful, fun, and fulfilling experiences I have had in high school.
I've spent quite a bit of time thinking about do-overs. I've definitely made my fair share of mistakes. I've always wished I would have gotten involved in sports. I wish I had tried harder in high school. I wish I had started focusing on my health and fitness at an earlier age. I wish I had read more. I wish I had watched less tv. I wish I hadn't messed around so much my first semester. I wish I'd said yes to more opportunities, and put myself out there to experience more. Honestly though; thinking about all of these wishes has lead me to the realization that if I had one do-over, it would be that I had spent less time thinking about do-overs, and spent more time doing things. Instead of doing things over, I've learned from all of those regrets,

My current job is an ABA therapist for the school district. Last week, one of the children on my case load was having a lot of behavior issues in the classroom. In order to help shape his behaviors, a collaboration took place. The classroom teacher, the lead therapist, the autism specialist, another line therapist and myself brainstormed possible strategies to put in place. We all had to observe the behaviors and try to determine the antecedent. From there, we sat down as a team to decide what behaviors we wanted to target first and what strategies we would use. We have all begun to put the strategies into place and we are seeing significant improvement in some of the behaviors. We have all taken turns in dealing
Elementary school, for most people, is the easiest few years of school they’ll ever encounter. For me though, it was an uphill battle of trying to learn and fit in. Being diagnosed with a learning disability in second grade, I struggled to keep up with my classmates and my teacher’s expectations. By the third grade, I was put into the resource room all day instead of being allowed to stay in my classroom with accommodations. At the time, my teacher was a first-year teacher fresh out of college and because of my learning disability, she decided it was easier to put me in the resource room all day than to work with my accommodations. Ideally, the resource room is there to help students with disability’s
“Oh, my goodness,” “Wasn’t it so funny when Mr. Speranza split his pants in class today?”
The information I learned were basic yet so beneficial and effective to anyone and everyone. I’ve learned what to prepare for if I had owned my own center, what to spend my money on, and how to spend my money wisely. The tools taught me how to manage my money successfully and professionally. Even though it required extra work, it is worth it to me, because now I can see what the finances and budgets of a center are being spent on, and the causes and effects of certain financal situations. It taught me to be in control of the spendings and earnings of the canters, and if I want to achieve specific goals pertaining to budgets and finance, I am well aware of how to start it, and reach it. It also taught me to be aware of the comings and goings
It was a dusky, cold evening in early December. The sky looked almost as if it might snow that night because the sky was a charcoal gray, not a dark black. The lights and buildings sprinkled the sky, like tiny little stars. The Center Stage’s sign shone a bright green light that created a cast over everyone who was waiting to get into the venue. Despite it being extremely cold outside, everyone was just chatting away and laughter was heard from everywhere; it sounded like a nest of honey bees. The air was sharp and chilly, but was filled with the scents of alcohol and cigarette smoke. The group of people were waiting to see the band, Catfish and the Bottle men. All of the people here were fairly young and dressed like hipsters. My group of
The place I chose for my essay is the Writing Center I chose this place because it sounds like interesting to me. I used this service and it helped me a lot ,and I am familiar with The Writing Center, so my personal experience with the Writing Center was good it helpful and free for all the students at Oakland University. Also, the writing Center improve your skills in writing by teaching you how to organize your essays, because writing in collages different than high school writing.
On Friday Christina and I met with one of the staff downstairs who clearly have issue with you for some reason… he reports that he feels you have a respect and communication issue when dealing with the team… I did of course take the lead with the responses as Christina is new to the organization. After the staff departed I chatted with Christina and she wasn’t familiar with all the reported issues but did indicate that many of the staff are struggling with accountability and task
It was really fun to explore the campus and I am surprised that I have never went some places even I have been studying in UNC for two and a half years. I knew a lot of resources before I took this class, but I didn’t really use them. This time, as I doing this assignment, I found there are a lot of great resources, such as the handouts in writing center, and even I have no time to visit the writing center by myself, I can still upload my paper online and have a tutor help me with it. I went to the career center this semester couple times to finalize my resume. I also scheduled couple appointments to have the mock interview. Sometimes the career center will hold info sessions that is beneficial for me to attend as a senior. I will keep using
“How many times have I been asked this question” I think to myself as I’m about to answer.
Benjamin Franklin once said “Tell me and I forget. Teach me and I remember. Involve me and I learn.” This quote speaks to me because, I’ve had people tell me things and teach me things, but I didn’t learn until I involved myself. Even though the work was time consuming, My ENF Class taught me important skills because I improved my writing and I learned important vocabulary.
