September 13, 2014, it was my fourth official varsity soccer game as a freshman and I was starting. I was put on outside wing, defending one of the strongest seniors Horseheads High School had and I was nothing but confident and motivated. All of the sudden I hear a few pops and a crack and I was on the ground and was unable to move my right leg. Complete shock filled my body and I did not know how to react; my older sister and my coach flashed in front of my eyes and I could not comprehend what was happening. Later that week I was told I had torn my ACL and I would be out of soccer for approximately six months. Throughout my life, soccer has been a huge part of what makes me, me, and what makes me happy. It has taught me to be strong, tough,
I am extremely grateful for this because soccer has impacted my life immensely. I can honestly say that soccer has pushed my life forward in a positive direction. It taught me how to be competitive, hard-working, and how to deal with people I necessarily didn't agree with or care for. That competitiveness that I first learned at the ripe age of four is something that has carried on into other aspects of my life including my education. I always want to have the highest grade in the class and if that’s not possible than the highest grade that I can get. This previously mentioned competitiveness on the field and in the classroom translates into hard work. Dealing with people I don't get along with isn't something that I am the best at, but I have been working on it. I am not always going to like my boss or coach, but I am not going to be able to change that. I can think of a few examples where I have gotten into an argument with someone who I definitely shouldn’t have been disrespecting and as I look back I feel foolish and that helps me deal with similar situations that I currently
Everyone has that certain thing that makes them who they are. That certain thing for me is soccer. It’s my hobby, my biggest interest, and my passion. Soccer isn’t just a sport for me, it’s my life. It has been part of my life for as long as I can remember. I have played the intriguing game of soccer since I was four years old, and I have loved it ever since.
As a child, I grew up playing softball and that 's it. My mom played softball, my cousins played softball. It’s just all I knew. When I reached the seventh grade at Gardner Dickinson (my elementary and middle school), my friends all played soccer and I reluctantly joined as well. Each year I had my ups and downs with soccer, but it grew to be a part of who I am and has taught me a lot of things. For example, to try new things, to work hard, to never give up, and to step up and be a leader.
Ask anyone who knows me about my childhood, and they will tell you that I was one of the shyest kids there ever was. It made my life difficult, talking to people was a struggle, and presentations were disastrous. If it wasn't for soccer, I would probably still be that way today. Soccer has had the most positive influence on my life. It has taught me how to be a leader, the importance of teamwork, communication, and all of the other cliche skills that participating on any sport team will teach young adolescents. Even though these important values are learned from every sport, soccer has taught me much more.
Many people play sports and have hobbies they are passionate about, but soccer isn't justa hobby or a sport I play for fun soccer is my life. Millions of people across the globe play thebeautiful sport of futbol (soccer), so what makes me different from the rest. I started playingsoccer when I was 3 years old and instantly fell in love with the beautiful game. I could tell rightaway that soccer was my sport and my passion and no one could take that away from me.Throughout my development of soccer my emotions for the sport remained constant but mypassion for it changed I became addicted to the sport. I could and still stay soccer is my drug andI can not live without it. Soccer is many things to me it is my friend, my comfort place, mysupporter,
Ten years ago I saw my first soccer game and up until recently I wanted to be a soccer player ahead of my second passion which is computers. Like most kids, all I ever dreamed of is being a pro athlete. I played soccer all 4 years of High school. I went to the camps and training sessions of many colleges. I even went to the extent of trying out for many professional teams. On March 29th of this year I went to Score Indoor, an indoor soccer arena in Fairburn, to play a small scrimmage game. Something in my head told me that I shouldn’t play but I shrugged it off. 20 minutes into the game I was tackled hard and long story short, I tore my acl. Tearing my acl crippled so many of my plans. In June I had probably the most important tryout of my life. I was going to try out for 3 of the biggest teams in Mexico. At the time I didn’t know what I was going to do with my life. All I ever thought about was going pro.
As a child, I grew up playing travel soccer, and it was what my life revolved around. My weekdays were filled with practices, my weekends filled with tournaments. Soccer was all I knew and all I wanted to do. I had dreams of making my high school varsity team, and even one day playing when I got to college. This all changed during one weekend tournament. My team and I were in the first half of the first game that weekend when I was injured and carried off the field. From that point, I never stepped foot into a soccer game again.
soccer is a way of meeting new people and many activities that we all as humans can enjoy as we make new friends. There are not so many physical activities that combine both. I personally find soccer the best way to do it. Soccer is not a physical sport, but it is also a great way to socialize and make friends.
Soccer is a big part of my life and future. I have been playing for nine years and hope to continue threw out my life. I would like to one day successfully become a professional soccer player or coach a varsity team. I like to live by the motto, “ If you believe, you can achieve”. As in if I continue to believe in myself then great things can happen.
At the age of 7, my mother signed me up to play major league soccer for the local community. It was fun at first, because of the family support and competiveness of the sport. During the summer of 1st grade at Covert Avenue Elementary School in Elmont, New York I would go to the soccer field every other day to practice and play against other teams on the weekends. It was a great experience until I got hit by another player making me unable to play for the upcoming games. The other player slid into my left leg and sprained my ankle. While being in excruciating pain, I was unable to go out to see my friends. I was stuck in my house for a couple weeks, because my mom wanted me to get better. Since she is a strict and concerned Asian mother, I was not able to do any physical activity inside or outside of my home.
I chose to present this topic because it is a big part of my life and I want to share how soccer can benefit someone. Soccer is a huge part of my culture being borned in a hispanic family and has made an impact throughout my whole life. Soccer is what brings my family together after a long week of work. The has helped me both physically and mentally throughout my whole life. I had no interest in soccer before i was 7.Then my father insisted me on giving it a chance. I enjoyed the sport as a whole. As a child i was overweight and playing made me lose weight and made me healthier. Up to now i have made lot of friends who also like soccer. I can rely on soccer to relieve me of stress and to kill time whether it be watching it on tv, practice

During a soccer tournament in 11th grade, I suffered a ligament tear in my left ankle. It was a horrible injury and I could not play soccer for 6 months due to it.
I'm going to tell you about the time I first learned how to play soccer..( I know pretty cliche right?). Anyways when I was growing up as a kid I never liked soccer until I took a trip to Spain with my family, as we all know everyone in Spain plays soccer so naturally I tried it out. At first I hated it because there wasn't enough action, but then something spectacular occurred, I played in my first pick up game, and it was magical. The feeling of scoring a goal is what keeps me playing soccer to this day. Soccer has more then just a physical impact on me, soccer impacts everything that I do. From the
Soccer means so much to me and a big part of my life. This means to me is the sport I play and love. I love this sport because it makes me so energetic, excited, competitive, etc. it revels who I am as an athletic person. It also means the most to me because I have played it for 5 years now.
