Happy Tuesday! I just wanted to send over a note of thanks for taking the time to speak to me yesterday on the phone. After our conversation, and my Skype call with Kirby I truly believe with my experience in handling food & beverage, lifestyle, talent and entertainment clients coupled with my strong media relationships across those fields I would be an asset to the Joneswork team. As I mentioned during our conversation I am looking to move to a firm that represents a variety of clients and where I can grow as a PR professional and I feel Jonesworks could help bring me to the next step in my career. I have my in person interview with Stephanie K on Friday in the gorgeous, yet fabulously distant city of Santa Monica. Looking forward to meeting
Throughout the course of our lives, we must collaborate with people who may have completely different upbringings and have vastly different belief systems than what we may hold ourselves. One scenario in my life in which I had to collaborate with someone different than me was when I had to work with an overly aggressive football player who was a year younger. He started on the freshmen team but soon became the starting quarterback of the varsity team when he was a sophomore. I was on the JV team and was the backup quarterback both my junior and sophomore year. We came from different social groups, and I worried that we would not get along on or off of the field.
As I step out onto the field I smack in the face the aroma of the freshly cut grass. I get the sense of being home after a long trip away. It’s great to be home where I know I have fans that will cheer us on. The grounds crew is out working on the field to get it ready for the game later tonight.
As a paraprofessional one of the biggest problems that is face is the collaboration between the team of the student you work with. I work on a team of twenty-one people who I must communicate with most of them daily or weekly basis. The main issue I face is working with the Special Education teacher and regular classroom teacher in curriculum. The reason being is that I don’t get things modified for my student occurring to the IEP and preview the materials ahead of time. Just being given the material to work with the day of is hard because if I must modify I don’t get the planning time to do so. Then I run into the student having behaviors cause the material is too hard. Looking at the problem-solving worksheet from De Boer I really like the
I never this project would have such a big impact on me and my co-wworkers. I also did not realize how one project can bring a community more closer than anyone in the community could imagine.
The team and I joked around to try and release our nerves. Something was bugging me though, I kept thinking back to when Durkins told me that Lincoln had said that we were going to lose(4). I was really shocked, I mean, I knew Lincoln trusted his old team more than he trusted us but I had dismissed that as a new kid kind of thing. That didn’t mean I was all cool about it though, I was angry that he wasn’t confident in his team to win against Franklin. Although that anger may be from the times that Lincoln disobeyed Coach or from when he trusted his old team more than his new team even though we were his new team. MitchelI put Mitchell in a headlock and a little later Lincoln strode into the locker room. I let go of Mitchell and straightened up. “ Durkins says you said that we’re goin’ to lose. Why did you say that?” I remarked.
In this era when collaboration is vital to succeed as a scientist, I have active collaborations with Emory University School of Medicine and Texas Tech Paul Foster School of Medicine. I actively participate in departmental and college-wide services, as well as professional organizations and scholarly journals. I sought as an advisor and consultant on scientific and technological programs and problems, which extend well beyond my area of specialty. These experiences demonstrate that I have the skill in providing scientific advice, collaboration, and consultation.
As I worked there longer I met someone who suddenly assumed we were best buds. He would constantly want to hang out at work, but he was one of those take it too far people. In this job we worked with box cutters and would play around with his like a real knife thinking it was funny. One day I had enough and this guy and he said something that just made me want to knock him out. That little cricket on my shoulder always told me don’t do it man. You need this job more than his face needs your fist and thank goodness I was able to walk away.
It was the last inning, the count was two balls and two strikes with two outs. Our catcher calls a curveball, I move three steps to my right. Alex is in the stretch, he starts his motion towards home, the runner on first breaks for second base. The pitch is delivered and the ball is hit directly up the middle and over the pitcher’s head, coming from shortstop, I break to my left, I am about to catch the ball when I glance at the runner. He was sliding right into me, I caught the ball, jumped up, and threw the ball while in mid-air. It was a perfect throw, right to the first baseman’s chest. That was it, the game was over, we had just beaten the number one team in the country to advance to the world series! We all threw
“Coming together is a beginning, Keeping together is a process, working together is success.” - Henry Ford. Some ways I am strong in a group include leadership and responsibility skills and being honest and straightforward. I am good at being a leader and make sure everything happens right, I do this by keeping track of time & making sure everyone understands what we are doing. I am honest and straightforward in that I will tell people if they are making a mistake or doing a problem wrong. I will also accept the fact that I am wrong sometimes, when I am wrong I try not to take the answer from somebody and I find another way to do the problem. Although I have these strengths I have weaknesses to go along with them. For instance when I try making sure everyone knows what we are doing I take charge and assign everybody a job rather than letting everybody work it out. Sometimes I am also very forceful when telling somebody they are incorrect, I could work on
I thoroughly enjoyed our conversation about the structure of the team and the hopes that you all have for the Senior Account Executive role. I'm ecstatic about the opportunity to become an immediate asset at Frederick Swanston. My colorful background provides me with over ten years experience in leadership and client management. I make it a point to learn and understand my clients' needs and deliver big picture ideas and strategy. I thrive on stepping up to the plate in any situation and wearing many hats to get the job done.
I worked at a Starbucks in the mornings and did my intern work in the afternoons/evenings. It was a good system, though sometimes it would be a little close when I went overtime in the mornings. I still made it to “second work” on time (usually), which was good, since it was the whole reason I was in Cali. I was pretty busy for most of the day, but that was good, because I like to keep busy. I knew that if I wasn’t working I would probably be at home doing nothing, so my schedule was fine.
Session held at the SVABA center. Activities: Elefun snakin' Safari, blocks p, self-help skills p, reading, video time, Thomas & friends, outdoor activity, walk to Lowe's and snack. I called Mrs. Glasgow and visited Providence Hospital 1:30pm this afternoon in reference to the required documents to start field work next Wednesday. I have both the volunteer application and observation application completed however, I was told I need a PPD/TB test, drug test, and background check from the police department. I would like to know if there is anyway I can use the background check from Sentry instead of paying for another background check. In addition, I tried to schedule a PPD/TB and drug test with the hospital's occupational health services but was told I could not schedule an appointment today and I will be contacted tomorrow. However, I plan to take the initiative to call Occupational health services tomorrow morning
I was able to get back to working like nothing had happen but unfortunately my session had end for my first term. I had been in contact with my professors about the issues and trying to get caught up but time was up and I was unable to do so. I then thought I was going to have a great next term starting in the summer of 2015. I began off strong doing well like the first term, then work started to intensify. I began working later and later. I was clearing over 40 hours almost every week and coming home just to sleep. I normally work from 9am to 6pm, but with late kids, preparing for the fall classes for the kids and moving rooms around I was working more like 8am to 7pm sometimes 8 am to 8pm. So when I came home to do school work I be so exhausted that I was able to do bits and pieces of it never was able to fully dedicate myself to the school work like I was suppose to.
Today after I cleaned two office in place of employee on vacation. I spotted Richard G. Stroupe standing at the back door. He asked why he was not allowed back at the facility. I plainly told him it was because of his poor job performance.
