Since being a freshman, my goal has always been this: get into college. Now that I actually am attending college, I’ve had to discover new goals for myself to achieve in the next few years. My first goal is to do my best. I know this goal seems like a classic cliché, but for me, it is a huge goal. I consider myself an academically aggressive woman; meaning that I take my school work very seriously. This goal requires me to not allow the fun and social part of college to interfere with my schoolwork while at the same time allows me to forgive myself when my best work just is not enough. In the future of my college experience, my goals are to design my own theatre set, make connections with fellow students following my career path, and being
“I want to be a firefighter, construction worker, and professional race car driver when I grow up.” This was my proud childhood statement I would use when asked the question, “what do you want to be when you grow up?” This question in particular is one that will be asked awfully early in one’s childhood, as well as very late in a young adults final years before venturing out into the “real world”. Like many other young children, I grew up with the mindset of having a exciting, heroic, and lively job for when I got older. I dreamt of operating heavy construction machinery, saving families while extinguishing fires of a decaying building, and speeding past vibrant and heavily decalled race cars. However, as I grew older and gained more realistic
The progression of my education goals are as follows: My short term educational goal is to accepted as a nursing student here at York Technical College. My next goal will be to graduate from the nursing program as a Registered Nurse.
am writing to you to inform you about my progress at City College. City College has become my second house, and I can say I have been taking advantage of this great new college experience. This past semester was very successful, and interesting; I took four classes which I passed with A’s. Even though I took only four classes, at the beginning it was very difficult to adapt to the big classes with hundreds of students, and long hours of study in order to past tests with good grades. However, all the efforts made this semester helped me to discover new passions on me that did not exist before.
College is something that most people fear, love, or choose to not even go. I never thought during high school, I would end up going to college and that it would of turned my life around. Everyone has the dark tunnels they have to go through before they eventually find that bright light at the end of the tunnel. I was going through that dark tunnel in high school and then college ended up pulling me out and saving me.
My college education has helped prepare me for this position. Through out my education, I had to take a few Middle School Methods classes. During these classes, we were asked to create lesson plans and then teach them to Middle School students. We also learned about the Common Core State Standards for Middle School as well as their developmental processes. A second experience that has prepared me to teach Middle School was my special education student teaching. During this caseload, I had four sixth grade boys that I worked very closely with. I went to their classroom and listened to the lessons that were being taught and then I worked with them in a small group setting to complete the task at hand. By being able to listen to the lessons
To the boards of admissions reviewing my application, you are probably wondering why a below average student is applying to one of the world's most prestigious institutions, home of America's brightest minds and success stories. I am well aware that I am not the typical student that applies to an Ivy League school. My test scores do not reach the national average and my grade point average may be a disappointment compared to students that I am competing for acceptance with. By looking at the numbers you should straight up deny me, but that's why I am here to tell you, you are wrong. Academically, I am not the strongest but that's because I am not inspired by the educational approach I have been given. Outside school, I don't hit bases I make home runs. I make a conscious effort to
My post secondary goals after high school are that I want to get a small job and work my way up from that. Well that sounds kinda broad what I want to do is yes, once again get a small job but I want to start getting my equipment for being a DJ. How I think this class can help by that is well if I am going to become a DJ I am going to socialise. Also write thank you letters for whomever I am going to be DJing for. And in this class there's going to be a lot of writing so I feel as if it could help me in that aspect of the class. One more aspect that I feel can help me out is socialising, this is definitely going to help me out if I want to become a DJ because I am going to know what type of music they host of the (party, wedding) wants me
College was something I never thought was for me. I always thought that since my parents and brother did not attend I would not either. I hated high school more than anything; but while I was there I learned I love writing and learn about photography. I used to sit in a back hallway away from where most of the students went just to write about anything and everything I could think of until the bell rang. When I moved to Massachusetts I wanted to apply for college. I decided that even though high school was difficult I wanted to learn more. Massasoit professors as well as the students then showed me that I have talent and can make something of myself if I tried hard enough. Thanks to them and the amazing students there, I now have my associates
One of my educational goals consists of graduating the Institute of American Indian Arts (IAIA) in Santa Fe, New Mexico with a BA in Indigenous Liberal Studies as well as, a certificate in Business and Entrepreneurship. Since I joined the IAIA community two years ago, I had expanded my knowledge aspects and had the chance to meet various people from various Native communities from the United States, Mexico, Canada, to Alaska and Hawaii. IAIA is one school that projects a unique atmosphere with various cultural perspectives. While attending the Institute of American Indian Arts, I have discovered I am passionate in the fields of cultural and language revitalization, the history of the various Native American communities and nations, and tribal
“Ring” did you hear that. That was the bell. Second semester started, The first semester went by fast. The first semester was hard I got bad grades. My Goals for this semeser are to do better in my classes.
Have you ever had a goal in mind and thought it was impossible to reach? I have, I set a goal for myself that I thought was never going to happen. My goal was to graduate from high school with my fellow classmates. There was a lot of requirements to be able to walk on the stage of victory. I was nowhere near done with all the requirements to graduate. Therefore, I thought my goal was already crushed. First of all, my grades in class were very poor. Also, I failed the final exam multiple times. Finally, I didn’t have enough credits to be able to graduate. Graduating high school was very hard, but thankfully I was able to accomplish my goal at
The goals that I have set for myself has galvanized my actions and motivated me to do my absolute best. In high school my plan was to graduate with honors and go to the college of my choice. While pursuing the major of my choice, Business Administration, and also having enough scholarships to help me grow as an honest worker in society. A degree to me is more than a document qualifying you for jobs. It is a trophy that I will win after running this long marathon we call school. Colin Powell stated “There are no secrets to success. It is the result of preparation, hard work and learning from failure.” Being a young African American male, raised in a single parent household has driven me to set out and find all assets to assist me with my degree. Once I get my degree it will further society in many ways, my main way to further society is by influencing the youth financially and also inspiring the young African American males
My goal for college is to finish not only with no student loan debt, but with funds already built up to help me pay for things in the future. Currently, I am working on creating a financial plan that allows me to save for college expenses, a down payment on a future home, and a retirement fund. Trying to fund all three is difficult, but it will be well worth the effort. Although I haven’t made an exact plan, I want to work at least 30 hours a week during the summer and put 10% to tithing, 10% to retirement, and 20-30% to my future house/ emergency fund. The rest of my money will go to education and any expenses that are necessary, such as money for gas and the occasional outing with friends. I would like to figure out a good percentage to put
My college goals and aspirations include: playing as much softball as I can. My degree and carrier plan is not defiant at this time but I am leaning to pre-med & to be a trauma surgeon. I want a college that I can build lifelong friendships & mature and grow as an individual and build character to carry with me for life.
I didn’t have an end goal for my academic career until high school. High school was when I finally felt like was set out on my own, and when I began to use the basic knowledge I was taught to enhance myself, interact with people I never knew before, and follow the new rules. The world became considerably larger and so did my future. As my future became greater, my goals began to clear up and become more precise. I had the future career options of science or math to history or art. It took the four years to narrow down my paths to what I want and where I want to go.
