I was going through the depths of the forest being chased by anacondas when I thought, what is the greatest thing I’ve ever accomplished in my life? Although I’m joking, have you every thought, what is my greatest achievement? When I think of my greatest achievement, so many things come to my head; from buying my first car, to eating the Blazin’ Wings at Buffalo Wild Wings. Although many people have a lot of achievements, there is always that one achievement that tops the others. That one that comes to your head and you know that it is the one. My greatest achievement is holding the all time three-point record at Clayton Ridge as a Junior. I believe that I am a great shooter, maybe the best to come through Clayton Ridge. Hoping that the record I set stands at Clayton Ridge forever, I also hope it gets beat for …show more content…
I do not plan on settling on that as I still have another season ahead of me. I plan to break many more records in the remaining days here at Clayton Ridge. I plan to make this record untouchable and I can do this by breaking another record that I hold, the number of three pointers made in a season. I currently hold that record at 77. I had beaten the record when I was a freshman. The record before mine was set at 36. I worked hard as a freshman and managed to make 50 that season. Although that is all I did that year, it was a huge accomplishment for me. Then I went on to beat it that next year making 63. This was a lot harder for me because when I was a freshman, people didn’t know who I was so I could get the shot off a lot slower. So the offseason going into my sophomore year I spent a lot of time speeding up my shot. I then went on to beat that record my junior year and make 77. This was not quite as complicating because I had a larger role on the team, which allowed me to take more shots. This will continue on for me going on next year because I will have the main scoring role on the
I can not begin to tell you about what I have seen over the past three days. When the battle began on July 1st I never would have imagined how many men would be wounded or killed. Makeshift hospitals had to be made for all of the wounded men. Large warehouses and even the railroad station were turned to hospitals. They grew quickly overcrowded though so we had to use other buildings. Churches were turned into hospitals, with the pews acting as beds. Schools and even private homes had to house wounded soldiers in need of medical attention. Volunteer nurses from Gettysburg gathered to help the wounded. The brought sheets and seat cushions from their homes for soldiers. I can only imagine how overwhelmed they must be, seeing all of the wounded
One of my proudest achievements is joining the Varsity Tennis team. A lot of people told me that learning to play tennis at an advanced level within a year was impossible, but I payed them no heed and went to the park every day to practice. It was a rigorous year of tennis, but the key to success for me was with stubborn determination. I got blisters, callouses, and a couple of injuries, but all of my hard work paid off when I saw my name on the list.
I have had many opportunities to create relationships and memories that I would otherwise have not have had. The game of basketball has shaped me into a well-rounded and more productive member of my community. Many hours of practice and studying have allowed me to become successful and earn many honorable awards and recognitions from my teachers, coaches, and administrators.
East Carolina University is and has always been a dream school for many students including myself. I have grown up hearing about the University and it is nothing short of spectacular. Many family members of mine have attended East Carolina, and I have always pictured myself at this school. It would be an honor to be a pirate. Throughout high school I have struggled in Science and Math. I know I could have done better in high school but in life you can always do something better, im eager to push myself more and work harder than ever to succeed as an adult, if given the chance There are many times when I should I have put school in front of my extra curricular activities such as dancing, art, work, tennis, and swimming. However, all of those
When I was in middle school at Durham Nativity School in Durham, North Carolina, I applied to high schools that would build the foundation of my future. I went through brutal amounts of hours of writing essay, filling out applications and visiting school. I have to say that attending Fork Union Military Academy was and still is the best decision I could have made.
As a veteran leader, I am an asset to any community I step into. I believe I bring a widely appreciated, yet underrepresented perspective to the diverse academic environment of Syracuse.
Laryn Murray, Freshman, inspired by her father, has been playing basketball for the majority of her life, and looking at her current basketball resume, it seems like that time spent toward shooting hoops has paid off.
Happy Easter Monday mom! How are you? Hope all are doing well in Canada. Walter and I are doing bonzer. We deeply miss you mother and, of course, father too. We both have bonzer possies here. The chief is really nice to us now. I still can’t believe it has been over a year since we have seen you. It fascinates me that exactly few years ago we were altogether even dad was with us. We have created so many memories together especially the ones we created on this specific day. Every Easter Monday, Walter will make us laugh by saying nonsense and we will all tell him to chub. Those are good times that I will never forget.
The long 172 days had finally passed, and the day I had been waiting for, for months, had finally come. We were in Chicago for my One Direction concert, the day couldn’t have come faster. The agonizingly slow hours that passed that day was too much to bear. Before arriving at Soldier Field, I was highly anticipating meeting one of my closest friends, Jessica, for the first time. It’s actually rather incredible to me, we first were introduced on social media, we didn’t know each other at all, all we knew was that we both loved the same band, and we were both going to the same concert. Prior to meeting for the first time, we were restricted to Skyping each other almost every other day and texting every day.
Wilmington started out as home, then became just a vacation. After years of moving and resisting the pull to move back, I finally made the best and brightest decision I think I have ever made. I am moving home, and in the process, I thought there would be no better place to further my education than The University of North Carolina at Wilmington. I have recently taken a year off in between high school and pursuing my college education, and frankly, I think it has been one of the most humbling experiences of my life. I have learned to appreciate everything that was taught by my parents and the schooling I have received. In that year I took part in America's workforce constantly facing the struggles of being independent and caring for myself,
When my physics professor told me that, I was rather upset than happy. I am here to learn, not to only know couple of equations for the test. College classes are designed to challenge students, not to give easy A’s. My time with Harford Community College was great but not challenging enough. I desire more hands-on experience and research projects, which my community college both lack of. This is when I realize that I need to transfer to somewhere that would give me a lot of opportunities to shine.
On Thursday, August 20th 2015 I was accepted into College of Southern Nevada. On Friday, August 21st, 2015 I arrived onto the CSN West Charleston Campus at around seven o'clock in the morning to be one of the first people to take the math, reading, and writing placement tests for the day. After I took the placement tests, I went to the Student Recruitment office and spoke to a woman named Kimiko Walton. I told Kimiko about what happened to me and she recruited me. Afterwards, I purchased my textbooks from the bookstore (a typical mistake made by college freshmens). As I existed the double doors of the CSN bookstore, I told myself: "Nobody can give me the life I deserve expect myself..." On
I joined the Marine Corps looking for a challenge. I wanted to open doors for a new career and longed to have a positive impact on the world around me. Looking back five years later, I realize I found all that I originally sought, but I’ve also found something profoundly satisfying and meaningful that I never knew I was missing.
The sight and sound of watching the basketball swish through the net are second to none. For this reason and much more, I have fallen in love with the game of basketball and all the sport has to offer. From an extremely young age until now I have played the game and I hope to be either playing or involved with the game as long as I live. I have tried many other sports including soccer, football, and lacrosse but none can compare to the pleasure and passion that I have for basketball. This has become more than a sport for me, it has become a passion and something that I have dedicated my time, energy and hard work into.
In addition, Michael Jordan’s performance also gave me the motivation and love for the game and I have since not stopped practicing and showing love for
