Personal Narrative: My Michigan Hero

My personal Michigan hero is a loving mother, grandmother, aunt, sister, and daughter. Her family is everything to her, and she has shown them to live life to the fullest, to follow God, and to be a role model. Moreover, hard work has never defeated her, and she has shown courage in all that she does. Not to mention, the love between us is like a sunny day, but shines even greater than the sun.

My Michigan hero is my mom, she is one of my biggest inspirations. She somehow raises five kids, is a school director at her work, working on getting her master's degree, is one of two color guard directors, runs back and forth for all of our sports and extracurriculars, and finally somehow still manages to cook dinner and help with homework. She is and has always been my biggest role model and she is always willing to help out and is an all around good person. She even somehow manages to keep the house clean with five kids and two dogs running around all the time going back a forth through it all. She has always encouraged me to do the things I like and try my best even if I don’t like it. She also has supported me and all my siblings in everything we try. She will come to every

Change is inevitable. Whether it be positive or negative, change is constantly happening. More than often change can take you from the known world and spit you into the unknown, where you return a changed person. While embarking on the journeys provoked by change, you are on a hero’s journeys. The hero’s journey was popularized by Joseph Campbell. When describing what prompts hero’s journeys, Joseph Campbell said,

My Michigan Hero is my one and only brother Tyler Shellenberger. He inspires me because he’s independent, hard working, and caring. He inspires me to be the best I can be everyday. Even when I asked him to leave me alone he never let me stay alone he stood in place and said to keep calm and forget it as if it didn't matter at all.

A hero is someone you look up to. Who’s your hero? Who do you look up to? “I love my hero to Neptune and back!” My hero, Tasha Young, came from a poor family, works hard and survived cancer. My hero is the oldest of five kids, she didn’t graduate high school and she was a single parent. My mom, Tasha Young, is my hero.

Have you ever asked yourself, “Have I done enough? Can I give more? Or even what else can I do?” If you answered yes, you could be a hero just like my Michigan hero, Dennis Graeber!Dennis is 65, he is also my Grandpa, he has a mustache, is a average height, and is very hardworking, and determined. He worked on a farm when he was younger. He didn’t go to college but worked for the state for many years, while raising my dad and aunt with the help of his wife. He also volunteers and contributes many hours to his church and the food bank. Dennis Graeber, my Grandpa, taught me that you can never give too much.

" Feel all your worries leave your body, feel the emotions rush through your arms, and out your fingers." Its amazing how my dance instructor makes all of our dances have a meaning, and have all our worries go. She loves the Lord and teaches us about him. She also inspires many girls all over Ludington to be a caring and loving person to all. She lives in the moment and makes dance so much fun! Mrs. Letha is My Michigan Hero.

Some Michigan Heroes can be people that helped you in life or helped you succeed in life. My Michigan Hero is someone that raised me, taught me everything I know in life today. This person is my idol, that gave me a hand when I needed one, or told me to keep my head up and never look down. I wouldn’t know what to do in life if this person wasn’t in it.

My hero, Kurt Swaton, he inspires me to give it my best and good things will happen to those who do their best. Kurt is not just a great runner or a great student, but he is a great person too, Kurt is an outstanding brother to me and a excellent friend to all of the people he knows. I can just see kurt at the start line of the regionals race, down in Indiana right before the gun goes off, you get that feeling that all the hard work and all the miles he has put into this race will pay off today and great things will

My Michigan hero is not just a hero but is my grandma, she was always there for me through my ups and downs. Every day after school are used to go to her house, she would have Mack and cheese waiting for me on a little SpongeBob plate in front of the TV with SpongeBob on the TV. She was like my other half whenever I needed her the most she was there. She used to go shopping with me and my mom all the time and take us out for lunch. I alway imagined her being there with me all my life but that all changed. Just a couple years ago she had passed away and that was the hardest day of my life. My Michigan hero is one of my friend’s dads. I have many of reasons why he is my Michigan hero, but one big reason is because he saved my life.

My step dad Scott was my Michigan hero because he lifted my family up, played games with us and he was just nice, enjoyable, sometimes strict like dads should be, and of course a loving dad therefore a dad that cared and wanted to be in my family's lives. Who's your Michigan hero? My Michigan hero is my favorite person in the world, my best friend , Jaytion Wallace . Jaytion is slightly taller than me, so she would be about 5.2. She has brown eyes, dark brown hair and caramel skin. People say we look alike but Jaytion and I don’t see it. When people say that it’s funny , because Jaytion and I consider ourselves as sisters. Jaytion and I haven’t known each other for a long time, but it feels like i’ve known her my whole entire life. The couple years i’ve known Jaytion, I noticed that i’ve gotten better at school, and i’ve done things I wouldn’t have done before I met her.My best friend ,Jaytion Wallace has a positive impact on my life.

Have you ever had a hero in your life, someone that is always there for you when you need them? I did, I called him "my dad." My dad was the only person that could make me laugh when I was feeling down. My dad was that person who had so much love for his family. My dad was the person who I could call and he'd always pick up. My dad was the person who would drop everything just to help me. My dad was the biggest hero in my life and to this day, still is.
