Based off my three words chosen through out activity my personal values are Loving, Purpose, and Power. Although I have only been working as an intern for one week I can see all three personal values being actively engaged, I will speak of Loving. While engaging in loving at work I have learned that the SLIC is a chill caring family I can be a part of. From a young child I have always been a loving person. I thought it fit to help every person I came into contact with. Honestly my first adult friend was a homeless man who lived near my family friends apartment building. From childhood up into my adulthood I have found a love for humanity in my heart that is unexplainable. While working in the office I get the chance to make a loving impact
When I was in third grade my teacher assigned us to write a book titled “All About Me” and just about every word was spelled incorrectly. I remember my teacher reading it and asking what word I was trying to spell out and I got upset. I felt like I could not spell anything I was trying to write, put things into the right words, or into the correct order. However, in seventh grade my writing changed when my English teacher assigned us a paper to write about a book the class was assigned to read. My writing had improved, but still had its problems. My English teacher always told me that there is no such thing as a perfect paper. After he read my rough draft, he handed it back to me and there were red marks all over it, so I went home and fixed
Before I was born, my parents used to call me goblin. This was because I ended up being born around an hour after Halloween night, and at the time i was expected to be born right on Halloween. Since then it has been 14 years and I am now a freshman at Turpin high school. I have an awesome family that consists of four people. It’s me, my younger brother Michael, and my parents. Michael is an eighth grader at Nagel, and just recently turned 13. My parents work together in their own company where they recruit people for jobs. Also, the two families (the Kotts & Meeks) that live on either side of my house are pretty much like my second family. I am closest with Elizabeth, who is 17, and Sara who is 16. I love to go on different
I woke up and took one bite out of my pop tart but that one bite was all I could eat. My legs were shaking, and my heart was pounding. My dad told me, “It is a true honor to even make it this far so go out there and have some fun.” Once I heard this statement, I knew I was ready to go. I arrived at school and boarded the bus. The car ride was an hour and fifteen minutes of hearing the squeaking of the wheel on the bus. My teammates were getting their heads ready for the big game.
Everyone on earth is defined by their core beliefs. It’s what makes us all individuals, what separates us from the others. It wasn’t until I was talking with my friend Sean in 8th grade that I started to realize that one of my core beliefs, something I was taught growing up, may not be my own belief.

People in society stand somewhere with different lives. Some people are satisfied, others not so much. What do we call a world where we are in an environment we enjoy, with people we love, and with harmony? That is called Quality World. It seems a bit too good to be true but it can be done, but it is completely up to the choices made. For example, if I want to be a teacher I would have to save up for college, enroll in college, finish my degree, and find a job. It seems quite simple, but if I decide that college is getting too stressful and drop my classes, then I am now further away from my quality world. In each quality world you need, “love/belonging, power, freedom, and fun,” (17).
As I hold her hand, I think about Patsy and two of her cousins. They all have breast cancer, and they all picked crops in the central Valley of California when DDT was permissible. Rubbing her knuckles as gently as I can, I think of her slow death.
How I work is like… something that I can’t even explain because it travels through me and I blow myself away.
Codes of ethics enables us to have the capacity to recognize what is appropriate from what isn't right. They additionally assume a noteworthy part in impacting our conduct or the way we act in work and outside wok. They help make our relationships to be commonly pleasant and productive.
I would say distraction was one of the challenges I had to overcome to get where I am today. My friends, relationships, staying up late, watching television or doing something else rather than doing my work, would always back track me even if I thought “I’ll be okay” and just catch back up; it’s not that easy. I use to focus so much on other people in my life, I’d forget about myself and what’s best for me. When I was in the middle school, I would get so distracted by my cell phone, my mom would have a restriction on it so that I couldn’t send or receive text within school hours. Nevertheless, I didn’t understand, but now I see where it could hurt my grades.
Throughout my life i have realised that what i believe in isn't so much that humans are capable of many great things, but more so that they can be incredibly heartless people and aren't always who they seem. This also goes along with my other belief that life is unforgiving and that no matter what you think or hope for, you can't change what happens. You can only change how you react to it. It's been a long journey to come to this realisation. But it was worth every step of the way.
Here are my five words before reading chapter 7. I tried to think way back when my daughter was an infant and came up with the five words that she would say; however, not in the order that she learned the words I am sure.
Through out my high school career I have had many opportunities to demonstrate the six pillars of character. I show that I am caring by making sure that everyone else is okay before myself. There has been many day when I have came to school and something was bothering me. However, I would notice on of my friends didn't look happy or like their usually self. I would talk to them to figure out what is wrong and do what ever I could to make their day. I show that I have citizen ship by volunteering with my friends. Just I volunteered at Kids Against Hunger through my friends church. I was there for four hours sealing bags, boxing up packages, filling bags, and cleaning up. By the end of the night every one worked together to feed of 1,000 people. I have also volunteered at Cayman Court, which is an assistant living home for mentally challenged adults. I have helped at many of their holiday parties and played christmas music for the residence there.
If I had to put a description into my own personal ethics system, I would have to describe it as trying to be as fair and reasonable as possible. I try to please almost everyone to the point of my own mental breakdowns. I hate to see people struggle or try to get help when you know none is available. I will lend a hand and try and make the right choices given the situation and resources. My motto is if I can help, I will. I have made enough poor choices in the past to say, “I’ve been there” but that part of my life is over now. I try to be as kind and thoughtful as possible in my everyday life. I hate making waves but, I will challenge if given poor information or duped into making a poor decision.
Honesty: I have lived my entire adult life without lying - except for the white lies I tell my wife about the some of the food she makes - and I intend to continue doing so for the rest of my life, and I also intend to teach my daughters to live by the same standard.
