Several years ago, I went to Pensacola State College, and attempted to register for the Medical Information Coder Biller class, but was unsuccessful. The reason being, I could not provide the college with the proper identification they requested. I am a U.S. citizen born and raised, and I could not understand the process at the time. It took me a while to get my voter’s registration updated, and I did not have a driver’s license. This setback would prevent me from registering for any classes at the college.
However, just recently, March 10, 2017, I received an email with a letter of congratulations enclosed, from the Warrington Campus. In the email was a request to complete and fax the form back within a specific time frame. I thought my chances
A few weeks ago I went to Florida with my grandparents, they are the best. I was so excited and the drive to the airport took forever. The plane ride took a really long time, and when we finally got to Florida it was late. When I woke up the next morning I went to the beach and the sand was super-hot on my feet, but once I went in the water I cooled off. The sun was always shining and it was really hot. I forgot to put sunscreen on one day and I turned bright red. There were a lot of palm trees in my surroundings. The condo that we stayed was a very popular place because a lot of people stayed there. There was so much stuff to do and see that we couldn’t do everything that we wanted to. We went and packed oranges from the trees, ive never seen
East Carolina University is and has always been a dream school for many students including myself. I have grown up hearing about the University and it is nothing short of spectacular. Many family members of mine have attended East Carolina, and I have always pictured myself at this school. It would be an honor to be a pirate. Throughout high school I have struggled in Science and Math. I know I could have done better in high school but in life you can always do something better, im eager to push myself more and work harder than ever to succeed as an adult, if given the chance There are many times when I should I have put school in front of my extra curricular activities such as dancing, art, work, tennis, and swimming. However, all of those
So it goes kinda like this: The day before I left for Pensacola, I was told "Have an open mind, you don't know who you are going to meet down there", so I went in like I would any other social situation, and just try to keep to myself until I have felt out and become comfortable with the situation. The original plan was to not get close to anyone, especially since it was gonna be a week long thing then we would be done, and we'd all go home and eventually forget about each other, but things went differently. They started off the way I planned, then I got to know you, and I made the mistake of getting attached because quite frankly, you had topped out everyone I'd previously met and I tried to hold out hope that maybe something could work in
My history with Florida A & M University started before I was born. Looking back from day one, my family specifically my mom, cousin and aunts instilled in me what was the definition of a true Rattler. Some have defined a true Rattler as a go getter who stops at nothing to accomplish their goal. Some have defined a true Rattler as a well spoken and confident student attending FAMU. Others, simply would define a true Rattler as a student who has fallen on the hill going to class. Considering these definitions and countless others, I possess the solid qualities for attending Florida A & M University and becoming a true Rattler.
When I think about what I could contribute to Florida A&M University based on the knowledge that I do have with your institution is that i’m a extremely committed student who has beliefs that you can do anything that you set your mind to. There may be some times when I may feel discouraged but why must if I feel like that if things aren’t easily handed to you. You must chase your dreams, and when you do that things will slowly fall into place (not exactly how you planned for it to be at times). I learned that through the many obstacles I had to experience to make me the well informed women I am today. The best activity, interest, experience, and achievement in my life was being a Big member of “Big brother, big sister”. Becoming a mentor for
Sonoma State University was first introduced to me a year ago when I went on a tour of SSU with my school. Twenty of us went on a trip to Northern California to see schools such as University of San Francisco, San Francisco State, Holy Names University, UC Berkeley, and of course, Sonoma State University. I fell in love with SSU the minute I stepped on campus, the campus is so full of trees, unlike the desert-style campuses of many Southern California schools near where I live, and amazing buildings that inspire me by just being around them. When I took a tour of SSU, my tour guide was a part of the Hutchins Program, and she was so passionate when she told my group about it. I had never heard of a program that allowed students to get their degree and teaching credential in 4 years, so after that tour I began to research and tour schools with these kinds of programs, and yet none of them have impacted me quite like the Hutchins Program.
So my first two weeks at Florida Southern have been exhausting to say the least. One does not really know how flipped their sleep schedule is until they have to wake up early to drive to 8 am classes every other day. The bright side to these days, however, is that I end up making it home by about 11:00 am, where, beforehand, I might have even woken up at this time. I honestly don’t know what I expected from college, but I knew that the college that I planned on attending had a very beautiful campus. Living in the area, you always hear people talking about how world class architecture is located within the city. Florida Southern, along with Publix, and the location between Orlando and Tampa were the reasons everybody talked about
After graduating from TCU I hope to discover that I am equipped with a superb education and that I am more than qualified to compete for employment in the global market. The internships I serve, while attending TCU, would have made my resume stand out from the rest. I would hope to discover that because of my experiences at TCU, I am able to do great things throughout the world, connecting with the very accomplished alum from TCU. I also believe that having attended TCU would only continue to strengthen my Christian
Asking to write about oneself has a far greater challenge than writing about another, due to the fact of having too much information on the topic it is difficult to find a starting point. Therefore to tackle this task I questioned those closest friends to list my contributing qualities. Overwhelmingly my peers considered me as an extremely caring individual who is always willing to help. When recollecting my past experiences, numerous moments of enjoyable times and cherished adventures came to mind; this is one attribute I would love to contribute to the Florida Gulf Coast University community, the love to completely cherish life is what I passionately want to share. The qualities that allow for life to be enjoyed to the fullest extent include
During this past year, in the fall I transferred to Oklahoma State University from Rose State College. I was not sure how this transition would work out, but in the end, the transition went very smoothly. During my first semester at OSU, my schedule worked out where I would only have classes Tues-Thurs, which I enjoyed because I had extra time to work on homework on Mondays and Fridays. During my second semester, I had classes every day of the week, which was not favorable but that was the only option that worked with my schedule.
It is important to me to chose a school where I think I would most fit in. My tours to the University of Houston have really shown me how diverse the community is, and I love it! I am a very active person who loves to chatter, make friends, and educationally challenge myself everyday. The social, yet focused environment that I felt on my trips makes me believe I would fit right in. The people are so friendly, and to me, it is amazing to see the different races and ethnicities come together to watch and cheer at football games or sing along to everyone’s favorite song the way the students do at the University of Houston. My family is another big part of my decision to apply to the University of Houston. My family is very tightly knit. From attending
Montclair State University was the first college I visited. I arrived knowing nothing about what to look for or what I even wanted in college. I honestly didn’t even think I was going to like the college. This was mostly because it was a commuter college and I felt like I wanted to become independent, not stay at home with my parents. However, on the tour I felt like it was a place the students genuinely had fun in, even if they didn’t technically live there. My tour guide was constantly telling us about how many events and extracurricular clubs there were. He talked about how MSU has no limits because if there was a club you wanted that didn’t exist, you could create it yourself. As someone who is really focused on being able to have a lot
I met my fiancée Juliana for the first time in California State University Long Beach, which was held in May 2010. I went for my friend’s graduation and she was accompanying with her friends who was also graduating. What connected us closer is we had friends in common from the same university. I noticed her couple of times, without letting her know that I was looking at her. After we left the graduation program, I asked my friend Ahmed Abulhoul, about Juliana and he knew about her because they had friends in common. This was a bridge for connecting us and later I did send her a Facebook request. As I said earlier we had friends in common and she got to know who I was and from Facebook we started our initial communication. I had a strong feeling
There are tons of “10 things college has taught me”-type articles out there, but I wanted to make my own piece. Moving away from home this school year to attend a university turned out to be a lot different than I imagined. While attending the Early College Program back home in high school pushed me two school years ahead of my peers was great (financially and time wise), it has made my “freshman experience” here at Florida State University, a very different experience than any other freshman would go through. The pressure amounted on my shoulders sometimes became unbearable. Out of everything, I first learned that I have to take everything one step at a time. While I did decide to slow down my class load, I came across a number of other things
I have had my mind-set on UNC Wilmington for a very long time now. There is many factors about UNC Wilmington that creates much interest and love for me. In 2014, my eldest sister enrolled into UNC Wilmington. I was very excited and happy because this meant I would get to visit the campus quite often. The day we moved my sister into her dorm was a day I will never forget. Seeing the campus first hand was truly amazing. After that day, I knew for sure I wanted to be a sea hawk. Recently in the fall of 2016, my second oldest sister was admitted into UNC Wilmington. After her first year there, she and my eldest sister rented a house with a few other friends. I now am able to go down to UNC Wilmington freely and see the campus I hope to one day
