Personal Narrative: Observing The Parent Child Relationship

Since I was a kid, I had a ton of responsibilities, cleaning up after myself, doing chores, managing to not fight with my brother, although we fought all day everyday, but you know, it happens. One thing that I didn't know wasn't normal was parenting your parent. I go to school do all my class work and during recess and lunch I listened to all the other kids talk about going to the park after school and eating dinner together with their parents. When I got home from school, I had to do my homework and then take care of my mother. Bring her things she needed such as food, water, help her with many other simple everyday activities. Of course I wasn't the only one who was her “little helper” as she put it, my dad helped her and my older brother by two years,

for the past three years, my uncle began to fight for custody and then the mom did not allow the child any visiting. There are many reasons why he chose to fight for his daughter and they were personal, but definitely reasonable. At first the daughter still agreed to come back for the summer and always enjoyed her time. She would see her sibling, and enjoy camping. She never wanted to go back to her mom and always cried when she had to leave. Recently, the mom began brainwashing their daughter. The mom is extremely unhealthy and has chosen to do many inappropriate things which my uncle has proof of. The mom always tells the little girl to be nasty towards her father when they talk on the phone. She verbally spouts off words that an eleven year-old should not even know, while my uncle can hear the mother in the background telling hear what to say.

My interviewee is a second generation immigrant with one parent who was born in El Salvador and the other who has Mexican roots but was born in the United States. For the purposes of confidentiality my interviewee will be addressed as Ana from here on out. In this interview paper I will discuss the experiences that Ana faced growing up in a tri-racial household. I will also evaluate her experiences regarding assimilation to the lectures and reading assigned through out this course.

Initially, Carlos (aka Charlie) was court ordered for treatment to explore his issues with substance abuse, when he was arrested for driving while intoxicated. During subsequent sessions, Charlie spoke of his early childhood struggles with being accepted by his family and his rebellious behaviors. Currently, Charlie still explores his issues with his self-esteem while he blames others for the way he feels about himself. However, Charlie had expressed feelings of anger towards those around him including his girlfriends, ex-wives, manager, directors, and co-workers proclaiming them all as losers and himself as a “Winner!” He has commented to reporters that he has no anger issues and it is everyone else’s problem with the way he acts not his,

I have for months been in apprehension that David would volunteer. Yet, joining the Army will be a terrible trial to me. He joined the Washington County Company commanded by Capt.Willet. They are now at Camp Cummings, the Fair ground. David sold his Pistol, got $25 for it, paid some of his little debts and we are preparing shirts with crochet work. He is very serious and deliberate about it, and the poor boy, he will be more so as the hardships thicken upon him. He was anxious to be called in.

For the first parent interview, I interviewed my friend Randy. The interview took place in the living room of my house. His daughter was present but was playing with my sister at the time of the interview. Randy is the father of a toddler girl who is three years old but will turn four soon. Randy was born in 1992, he is not married but is cohabiting with the mother of the child and his parents’ home. In addition, Randy works for a medical supplies company and has only completed high school. Moreover, when he had his first child and only child, he was 21 years old.

I just had a telephone conference with CH mother/Jessica Cahill. Parent inform his physician, Dr. Cardino, MD (GI). Starting on Monday, student will have to take medication before every meal and snack. (5 times a day) The medication is Sucride? Parent was not sure of the correct spelling. What does it mean to be a parent? Being a parent means putting the well-being of your family and baby's safety first at all times, and making sure that no one will harm them. In addition, it means to love unconditionally and helping your kids grow to become respectful members of society. They will also be someone who will make the best possible choices in life and are willing to come to you whenever they need help because they look up to you as their strength and guidance. But, the one thing I don’t understand is why so many parents are killing their babies at the first stage of life, just because they are not ready to become parents. Alexus Casidy is out of her teenage years and now twenty, with a whole life ahead. The name Alexus may be a common but, the story of how it was picked, was not. Her father named her after a nurse at a Psychiatric Hospital, that he said was pretty. Not only did he name her after a nurse but, he chose the spelling of the car, Alexus. She grew up with her two younger siblings in Beloit WI, and I am yet to wonder if her sibling’s names have a comical story behind theirs as well. My peer went to high school at Beloit Memorial, graduating in 2015. Where she was an active cheerleading and softball player, also where she met her boyfriend, of three years, Ryan. Most don’t see that she is a mother, student, girlfriend, and employee; holding many different roles in all statuses. Alexus studies at UW Rock County and is undecided with fulfilling her dreams for becoming a children’s nurse or a teacher. Also, is hard-working employee at the factory Prent Corporation in Janesville, WI as an Inspector Packer. Where the money pays for the house her and her boyfriend own, with their one year old, Brooks.

The conflict Catherine has with her parents over the time and energy that is left over for her is a valid issue for her parents. The biggest worry for parents are the bills. Household finances are an issue children never consider. Catherine and David's dad still has to work constantly to keep food on the table, and make sure all the family's needs are met.Catherine and David's mother has to work from home part time so they can also manage financial needs,while most of the day she is taking care of David. When I was thirteen years old, I gave myself a shot. I was never good with medical things as a child, like never wanting to take medicine and absolutely hating needles. Many children, and even adults, hate needles but they just have to suck it up and deal with it. That was what I did for most of my life, until I had a very bad ingrown toenail. I was a responsible seven year old, I would say, considering my mother trusted me enough to leave me in charge of my sister as a toddler when I was still a child.
