Have you ever been forced to go somewhere or do something that you didn’t want to do? Usually, when you do it, you hate it and you wish you never had to do it. But sometimes, you actually have fun while doing it. This happened to me last summer. My Dad asked me, “Do you want to go to church camp?” “No thanks” I replied. I did not want to at all. Last time I went to a camp, I was barely fed, I had no friends, and there was nothing to do when we had free time. They replied with, “Since you feel that way, you’re going.” “What?! I just want to stay home.” “I promise that you’ll enjoy it” he said, “Fine” I said unenthusiastically. On the day before the camp, there was a meeting explaining what the camp would be like. I was very unenthusiastic …show more content…
The bathroom closes at 9:00.” We looked at the time and it was 8:58. Since we were so young, we believed it and panicked. The other kids were like, “I NEED TO GET MY TOOTHBRUSH! WE’RE RUNNING OUT OF TIME!” I started thinking. “Do bathrooms actually close? No way.” So I went in the bathroom, everyone was scattering around. So while everyone was running in the bathroom like maniacs, I said “They’re not going to close the bathrooms! It’s a joke.” There was a guy just standing there in confusion. He had no idea of what was going on. The guy spoke up and asked me in an uneasy voice, “So where are you guys from?” I said, “We’re from Lakeland.” He replied, “Oh.” I walked back to our cabin to get my toothbrush when I heard the leader say “I told them the bathroom is going to close.” So someone then replied while laughing, “How could you? They must be freaking out.” I certainly knew it was a prank after that so I went back to the cabin to get ready for bed, they brought us a snack and a drink, and we tried to go to sleep. For some reason, I was very uncomfortable when trying to sleep. I was very thirsty and it was very hot in the cabin. But when I fell asleep, I would wake up every 2 hours because the temperature randomly went down. It was very cold during the night.
When I woke up, it was about 6:30 AM. At this time everyone was still asleep, I tried to go back to sleep but the birds were singing, the temperature of the room was freezing, and the sun
It is true in life that everything happens for a reason. It is also true to say that sometimes it is all about being in the right place, at the right time. There was never a more prominent example of this than a traumatic summers evening, only a few years ago.
Put the gun down! Put the gun down! Pow Pow Pow. The gun shots cracked into the air as loud as thunder. One after another. We live day by day not knowing our end. In the blink of an eye our lives can be changed forever. Its life, yet even in knowing this we never expect tragedy to find us. We never expect it to affect our lives and the people we know and love. I’m going to share with you the day tragedy found my life.
That was a lot of money, and I didnt want to let Tony down so I got in the car and started to drive. As I drove the road was empty. I had confidence I was not going o get caught. It was a slightly wormer day out witch might have been because the sun was out. I had the windows down and was blaring music just trying to enjoy life when a cop pulls out behind me.
Hello, Dr. Taft, I look forward to another exciting semester with you, and my cohorts exploring my inner and outer world. Let’s start with my family constellations it begins with my stepmother, and my father, my older brother Steven along with myself. At the time, I did not know that Ann was my stepmother, and I did not find out until I was older, and she had two sons who lived in Arizona. A few years later her eldest son Tommy would come to live with us, and the life that we were accustomed to would change the outcome of all our lives.
my parents woke me up for school. Totally discombobulated, I stumbled onto the ice cold
I was designated out of necessity. My older brother was sent to prison the year before she was diagnosed. My twin sister was married at the time with three small children and my younger brother was only 16 years old. Therefore, I tried to become everything that she needed. Helping her through her battle would prove to me that life is too short to not pursue my dreams.
I brought my own tent and my sister was sleeping with her friends so my parents had to set up and sleep in a 10 person tent by themselves. I setup my tent and found my sister and her friend, and we decided to check out the campsite. We got on our bikes and set out for the unknown camp. We turned down the main road, and found a huge hill dividing off the road. At the bottom, there was a volley ball court. Next to that was a huge lake and river divided by a long pipe. The river was the one the kayakers or canoers used. Hanging over the river was a slanted tree. It looked like a diagonal diving board. I saw people climbing up and jumping off. They looked like monkeys. We rode back up and went back the campsite. Out parents had set up a bug net over the dining table to we went in. I looked at a pile of board games and when I turned back around with Jenga, they were on their phones. “Guys, get off.” I yelled, but I didn’t get through to them so I just walked away. I found the other family pulling in so I ran over to where they were. My friend jumped out of the car carrying a tent bag and a duffel

I stare at the TV with incomplete fascination, my pencil tightly gripped in between my fingers.
I heard a crash and a boom downstairs and paused my horror movies I did not think anything about it at first so I went downstairs and when I saw a shadowy figure dart across the kitchen I freaked out and tried to keep myself calm as my heart was racing then I ran upstairs as fast as I could.
In the year 2008, I attended elementary school enrolled in the third grade. I enjoyed outdoor activities with a burning passion, and I had many friends. One weekend my best friend Dimitri slept-over at my house, and he and I decided to go on a bike ride with my younger brother. Unfortunately we only had two helmets that functioned properly, but since I always put friends first, I gave my helmet to Dimitri. We were having a great time racing up and down the block until my brother found a pair of rusty broken scissors lying on the side of the road. An awful idea entered his mind at that moment and he decided to throw the scissors at me. During his first attempt he missed and I sped away and yelled at him. Ignoring me, he threw them and missed
Some of the hardest things in life make you realize what you really appreciate. One such instance took place in a remote part of Wyoming far away from everything and everyone. However, such an experience made one couple closer and taught them how valuable family really is.
It was cold on the night of November 14th. My friend, her boyfriend and I were walking to Walmart, planning on getting cake ingredients for my friend’s grandmother’s birthday. On our way there my surroundings seemed rather quiet for it being Angola. I felt like something was wrong like something had happened. But I continued to toss the feeling aside and just walked the path that leads to the parking lot. I couldn’t help but look in between the trees that held pitch black darkness. I was worried that was where troubles may lie, I was wrong. My real problem all started with a simple phone call.
Time passed as I remained in that kitchen chair. Until the doorbell broke me out of my continuous, horrific train of thoughts, that is.
I have had many joyful and equally traumatic experiences in my life which I can easily remember. I have been through a flood, gone to emergency care in the hospital, had an allergic reaction, etc. These experiences helped shape me into who I am, my beliefs, how I speak and act around others, and they each created a separate part of my identity.
