It is like a painting, I begin with a bare canvas and I turn it into art. I like that I can make someone's eyes pop and make them look beautiful just by using certain colors on their eyelids. I can change the look of a person just by changing one small detail of their hair or makeup. I think that is amazing. My love for this industry gets stronger every year and that's part of the reason I want to start sooner. I would like to attend cosmetology school so that I have the chance to make others feel beautiful everyday. I think part of the reason I was interested in this career was because my mom went to a cosmetology school herself. She decided that it wasn't for her and decided to go into massaging. So instead she attended a school for massage therapy. She is very happy doing this job

About six months before I graduated high school, I participated in a fundraiser to support breast cancer /scholarship contest at Aveda Institute, which is a cosmetology school. I saw many creative and talented students at the event, it was amazing! I assumed it was a sign, so as soon as I graduated high school I registered at Aveda. I truly believed that cosmetology was what I wanted to make a career out of, because I enjoy making people feel more confident about their physical appearance. However, attending the institute emphatically demonstrated a sneak preview of what life had in store for me.
