I’m 19 years old, fresh out of high school and I recently got a job at my old high school. I work out of the lower level of my school as a kind of computer technician. It can be kinda messy and unorganized down there, but there is a nice two-person office. It has two nice big desks and a giant array of computer monitors on the wall. Also, there is that all so satisfying air conditioning, a luxury the students and teachers can not enjoy. I got the job because three of my old computer teachers flat-out adored me. I could consider them more of a friend than teachers. It has been great. Until this incident that happened a week ago. My co-worker, Tyson, was upstairs working on some computers. I was eating my sandwich on my lunch break when I got a call from a woman in the office. She was telling me …show more content…
There wasn’t much I could do other than turn off the lights. Surprisingly, for how nice this room was it didn’t have a door to it, just a big opening. Even the door to the basement didn’t have a lock on it. For my safety, I turned off all the light in the office and the computer monitors. I kept my phone on the desk texting Tyson to see what is going on. But, he wouldn’t respond to me. I sat down in the dark and played games on my phone for what felt like 20 minutes. I had no idea what was happening because I couldn’t hear anything from downstairs. But, I was not allowed to call anyone until I was sure the lockdown was over. Then, the noisy basement door opened. As the creaking echoed through the basement into my office, I sat up in my seat wondering if I should call out for Tyson. I was eager to get some information from him. Someone then came running down the stairs and their footsteps were
Through my time growing up in Corona Queens as a kid I had come to realize something, I was beginning to get shorter as time progressed, the odd part was that I was the tallest in my class, standing at 5,10 in the 7th grade I was considered tall for a kid my age, in addition to only being 12 but regardless as I kept on coming home, I only felt as if I'm getting shorter. one day returning from the library and my reading session about the book Nature I was still in shock about what Henry David Thoreau has said about "sucking the marrow of life", and as I was attempting to think of how I can accomplish what he said, I fell and nearly broke my skull. it was then that I realized that what seemed like a footstep to walk into my home was a 10ft fall.
The boy told you what he was going to do- had his plan laid out and all. You took it as a joke, not ever thinking he would have killed three of your best friends along with four other people, and one just so happens to be your brother. What if you could have prevented that? What if you told a trusted adult ahead of time? What if you would have talked to the boy himself? A lot of teens ask these questions whenever it’s already too late. We don’t tend to think about things like that though because we never want to think that we could be involved in the situation. We say, “Oh, no big deal. He probably told someone else the same thing too. They’ll take care of it if they think it’s something serious.” The truth is, according to research within
"I'm so glad we can finally move into an actual house than an apartment." Kyle Sapienti, soon to be Stump, smiled and said. He traced the date on the calendar behind Patrick. September ninth, two thousand fifteen. Kyle moved away from it then grabbed the last bag of his from the apartment and packed it into his car. Patrick was taking Kyle's car with him because his car was already at the new house.
When I was five years old, all of my friends were starting Kindergarten. My mom was trying to decide if I would be too; so I told her I was going too. I think that was the beginning of being outspoken and saying what I thought.
Wow senior did go extremely fast. I blinked and I’m about to graduate. I honestly look back and think about how this is what I’ve wanted, to be out of school, and now that it's here, I’m not ready. I’m not ready to be an adult. I tried to put it off as long as possible but that was impossible with the hands life dealt me. But at the same time I’m glad I’m almost finished because I have more time for me! I work out, I read books, I work my butt off, and just take care of myself and the people around me. I honestly love it. High school has honestly been a burden with how much has gone on in my personal life. I can’t wait to just have time to focus on life! I honestly can’t wait to get my first tattoo or dye my hair, which I’ve never done, but
The summer of 2012 was the start of the downward spiral into my high school career. This ass hole guy decided to dump me and my dumb ass kept going after him when I know I shouldn’t have so I got hella drunk one night (as a 14 year old) and made this hilarious video with my bff that people hated apparently even though we looked hot. And so we got kicked out of cheer lol. Stupid mrs hatfield even had the vid on her phone like wtf lol. So yeah great start to high school.
According to Floyd Norris “the proportion of new american high school graduates who go to college, appears to be declining. Last october, just 65.9% of people who graduated had enrolled in college.” Would you want to be apart of that 65.9%? As a junior in highschool, on my way to graduating, 3 main pieces of advice that i would provide to my younger self would to be actively involved with school activities, clubs, and school spirit. In addition to that is to have better time management skills, also to start gathering ideas of what I wanted to do after high school, for example, college, jobs, or the military.
Pretty fucking stupid: Was with a few of my friends and we had went to my grade school (this was just before I started high school) to play basket ball and throw a baseball around. I happened to bring along my baseball bat if we wanted to do some pitching practice (as my friend and I were pitchers on rival teams). We hung out for a bit and played around. My one friend was hitting the basketball off of one of the walls with the bat like a tennis racket and it was fine. This was when the idea happened... I picked up the bat after my friend found something else to do and told my other friend (the pitcher) to toss the basket ball at me so I could see how far I could knock it. Turns out I couldn't knock it far as the rebound off the basketball/bat
I quickly raised my hand thinking " I know it, I know it." "Yes Thomas", the teacher said. "MAN!!! " Oh I forgot to introduce myself, I'm the girl that always knows the answer, the one who always follows the rules, the teachers pet, better yet, I'm the know - it - all.
I was standing with hundreds of my peers in an extremely claustrophobic and humid hallway, awaiting to receive my high school diploma. My hands trembled as I slowly walked alongside the podium where my principal quietly congratulated me and handed me my diploma. As I proceeded to my assigned seat, I gawked at the high quality piece of paper that seemed insignificant at the time, but would knowingly open many doors for me in the future. I was nervous. Nervous about walking down a path without a final destination, all alone.
On a regular school day, in my writing class, our writing teacher told us that we had an assignment to do. But it was a challenge. Our assignment was that we had to write an 1000 word essay about how and after our high school years is gonna be. Whether it's gonna be good or bad. But he wasn't done explaining, he also said "whoever has the best essay, will win the scholarship. The winner will be announced at the promotion. Good luck to all of you and you may begin writing." While everybody was writing, i just sat there. I didn't want to write an 1000 word essay. Are you nuts? But i had no choice but to write the darn essay.
We reside in high school for four short years. To some four years seems a lifetime, but for a highschooler, four years couldn’t feel any shorter. And in my four years I can tell you what remained true; if you’re running late, take your time because you’re late either way and your gpa does not decide your destiny but most importantly, you are in charge of your future. These all turned out to be truths because we don’t know what we’ll be doing tomorrow, for some of us even in the next couple hours. Not having a 4.00 gpa doesn’t mean that you’re gonna spend your adult years scrubbing toilets at Mcdonalds. We spend so much time worrying about our futures and sometimes neglect the things that keep us sane. So I guess what i’m trying to say is that we all need to chill.
The fall of 2005, marked the first I was assaulted by student. Classes were passing and I was in the hallway moving students along. I informed a student named Jimmy he need to go to class. Jimmy ignored me and continue to lean on wall talking to his friends. I informed Jimmy again he had to go class. Jimmy told me get out his face. Nonetheless, I persisted in Jimmy to go to class. Instead of going to class Jimmy walked up me and pushed me to the floor. Shocked and humiliated I pulled myself up from the floor and immediately contacted my union representative. Within hours Jimmy’s mom as the school. Throughout the meeting my principal excused Jimmy’s behavior and argued with me and my union representative. My principal and Jimmy’s mom
Ring! Ring! The school bell dings and Stan gets up and goes to his locker. He walk over to the water fountain and someone push his head down and he got wet. It was his friends Kyle and Eric. He says” hey what was that for” and Kyle responds “ It was just a joke.” They then exit the school and went their way home. As they walk through a back alley Stan trips Kyle. Kyle falls and hits a garbage can, and the can tips over. In the can was a brown bag filled with money. The boys were astonished and took the money.
After what seemed like hours, Hanna had finally decided which shoe I was going to wear to the party.
