One Luminous and Sun-drenched morning, my father had a significant idea of going hunting to one of our secret hunting spots, I was all in for it. I rushed around the house very dexterous of all of the things i needed for the day, jumped in the truck and gave my friend a call, to invite him on a trip up Mauka. after we had left his house, we started to head up the mountains, but i had forgotten my shoes, so quickly we turned around and headed back down, i had a abysmal feeling that it was not going to be a good day. As soon as we reached back to the Blackhat residence, I had jumped out of the truck to grab my shoes, water, and triple checked of all the items my father and I needed while we were home, Then again. We were heading back up …show more content…
the ram didn't rum more than 10 yard. I was so excited that I didn't wait for the final nerves to twitch, I jumped up and took off to the ram with poor discretion knowing that I had shot the biggest ram so far, i asked my friend if he could take some nice pictures so that i could look back to this day and remember the moment with joy, we had a long journey back, but i didn't mind because i had shot a beautiful
It was five in the morning, I was still groggy and tired but I knew if I wanted to get a big deer I would have to wake up this early. I put on all of my warm cloths, grabbed my gun and me, my dad and all of my brothers climbed into the pickup to get to our hunting area. On our way out of town we filled the truck up with diesel and grabbed a quick snack to eat on our way out to the field.
y yard shot,i was just about to shoot then i looked at the end of my arrow there was a field tip on i knew i had to do something fast.
At 17, a muzzelloader elk hunt in Navada was one of the best things to have ever happened to me in my life. A tag for the Jarbidge WIlderness Area is one of the best spots for it too. It all started out on the 500 mile drive out to destination, followed by 2 solid days of scouting the ranges for elk. Archery season was just ending when we were starting so the elk had some pressure but not as much as in rifle season. There were plenty of bulls that were well worth of shooting so we felt like we had a good chance of getting one. On opening day, a Thursday, we got on 3 nice 5x5 and 6x6 bulls with my dad and my uncle spotting from a ridge away but we either had no shot or we spooked cows before we could shoot. That day I put of about 15 miles and 2,000 feet of climbing. That night we re-fueled and slept had for the long

"Sport" hunting is a violent form of recreation that has left countless animals maimed, and orphaned animals vulnerable to starvation, exposure, and predation. This activity disrupts natural animal population dynamics and has contributed to the extinction of animal species all over the world, including the Tasmanian tiger and the great auk.(1,2)
On a blazing hot summer early morning with the city traffic roaring! And the hot sun blazing, birds chirping and the smell of fresh green grass. Me and my family were packing and getting ready for our yearly powwow trail trip. My mooshum and kokum were they’re usual selves laughing and cracking jokes, I and my cousins knew they weren’t that funny but laughed at their jokes anyways. After we were all packed and ready we all piled into my kookum’s van and set off to our destination with the hot sun reflecting off the black pavement. The drive to Muskoday reserve was long and tiring, the van was humid and making us irritated, so I decided to roll down my window to let the summer air cool us off, the cool breeze was flowing and the music was booming! A bit later we arrived to our destination with our eyes popping taking in all the scenery around us, mind you this was our first time being in the reserve Muskoday. The excitement of being there and meeting new people was over whelming, the anxious feeling of just wanting to run off and enjoy the scenery with my cousins and friends I had met before from the powwow trails we took yearly.
My first year of high school I had a great opportunity that helped me grow up into the person that I am today. I had the opportunity to go on a moose hunt in Vermont. Growing up in Upstate New York where moose are a rare occurrence I knew this would be one chance to ever get to hunt a moose and maybe my only chance to ever get to see one. My trip started with a four hour car ride through the Adirondacks to Lake Champlain and then Burlington Vermont. The first day me and my dad woke up after spending the night in Burlington we got up bright and early to meet our guide for the hunt. He lead us to the camp we would be staying at for the next week. We were right on the Canadian border in the northeast corner of Vermont. There was not much in this
After the the first shot I took my mind went blank. The adrenaline that flowed throughout my body, the feelings of rush, excitement, and success all in one combination of emotions. These were the feelings I had no idea excited until after that moment. Although I had a slight ache in my shoulder due to the force of the 12 gauge shotgun pushing against my shoulder. I was at a lost of words my only reactions was to run, run as fast as I could to get to the dying turkey. Once there the turkey was not fully dead yet It was still flopping around and blood camp oozing out splattering me. Looking at the suffering bird I places my boot on it head to the ground, then grabbed the turkey's body pulling it so its
We greeted each other with kind respect. We met on the trail when his wagon broke. I offer to help Curtis Mick Colloni with his wagon. We exchange each other name and we left. I knew he was a skilled doctor and he he would I left the place and I ask Curtis if he would like travel together. As I was walking, I saw Hunter. I ran up to him and greeted him. I met Hunter Norm Cline during the trail when it block by a log. There was a lot of people and together, Hunter organized the group to pull the log. I ask if he would like to join me on the way to Oregon. He said he had 2 other family going on the trail and ask if I would join. He also mentioned that he was the leader of the group. I merge with the group and together we form a wagon
Everyone kills, and everyone eats. Not everyone eats what they kill, but these remain two of the most intimate forms of communing with our environment, whether we recognize them as such, or not. Almost 40 000 Americans are killed each year as the result of homicidal, accidental, and suicidal uses of guns; in all, Americans wielding guns intimidate, wound, and kill hundreds of thousands every year. These were the kinds of ideas impressed upon me as I grew up in my urban home: Guns were beasts, as were knives, arrows, spears, indeed anything could become a weapon if held in a particular way. We sprayed each other with the hose instead of water guns, and spent many long hours as a family "communing with nature" through long walks on the
Centered around the problems of rape in college, The Hunting Ground is a documentary that follows stories of many young women and men who had some of the most important things stolen from them. Virginity, dignity, respect, or an environment where they felt safe. More than 16% of women are raped while in college. With the number only increasing, this documentary was created to showcase the corrupt system of colleges handling these cases and give insight to what actually happens to the victims.
My second hunting weekend was about to begin, I was pulled out of Library class at CCE and came home to find out I wouldn’t be leaving until five or six o'clock because one of my dogs had eaten some pills she shouldn’t have.
One day my cousin and I was playing with BB guns at our grandpa house. Then when I rounded the corner he shot me twice in my neck.
My Family and I were at home eating dinner. After dinner I told my mom that I had left something on top of the mountain, so she said “‘go up to get it Mary. But she didn’t want me to go alone so I went to go see if my friend was home but he wasn’t so I disobeyed my moms rules and went up by myself anyway. And it was starting to get dark so I had to get the base fast but I couldn’t find it. Now it was really dark and 2 hours had already passed and I couldn't my way off the mountain because it was so dark. And with my luck my phone died so I couldn’t call anyone for help, so I just started walking and walking after a little bit I realized I was getting nowhere so again I walked eventually I just fell and went to
For my birthday in September my parents gave me an ultimatum, I had to choose between 50 dollars, or I could go on a two week hunting trip. At that time I was a hunting fanatic and chose the hunting trip without a second thought. So a month after my birthday we flew out to Wisconsin and got ready to hunt at my Dad’s parents farm. We got there at about 4:30 p.m. and were debating on going hunting, But I was so gung-ho on hunting that I convinced my dad to take me just for a little while. I was so anxious and excited to be hunting that my hands were shaking.
