What do you believe in? I believe that people have there own belief and their own disbeliefs.I believe that I am a good basketball player. Most people don’t believe it but I do.I am going to tell some facts about why I believe in such the topic. I remember the day like it was yesterday,it was 2014 I was a freshmen.I was trying out for the high school basketball team.I was training all summer for it doing drills, working on my shot, but my dad was still pushing my limits. My father put a rim in the backyard thats was it all started. My dad would always ask me “are you ready?”.My answer was always yes.I wanted to show everyone what I was about. It was time, school was starting all everyone was talking about was basketball I was sitting
My biography starts with me, a nervous little boy born in Denver Colorado. This is the Biography of my very first AAU Basketball game. Going to school at six fifty-five in the morning on Friday, all I could think about was the fact that I was going to be playing in my first AAU Basketball game in just 11 more hours. Walking through the halls of my Middle School, Grafton my heart raced through every single class knowing that I was getting closer and closer to my first ever AAU basketball game. While the day went on, i had very mixed emotions, I was ready to play, meaning I was confident in myself that i was going to do good, I was excited to be playing and I was also nervous because there’s always the thought
“Come on guys,” I yelled. I heard the screech of the referee’s whistle. Rushing to the bench, I heard the referee call out “Timeout, Heat.” Everything was on the line and our team’s championship hopes, being foremost on our team’s minds, was all coach could scream about. “I’m not going to tell you how to play basketball,” he yelled out. “That’s your job. I’m just going to say that right now, to us, this is a championship game. If we win this, we move on to the championship. If not, at least let us fall valiantly.” That got the whole team riled up as we rushed back onto the court. The crowd, encouraging as always, yelled out their approval on the fact that we were giving it our all. With just sixteen seconds left in the game and our team down by four, something special had to happen or we were done for the season.
Learning the game of basketball has changed my life for the better. As a little girl, my father believed that I would be an incredible athlete. As soon as I could shoot a basketball, my dad took me to a park to develop my skills. Practicing constantly led me to fall in love with the sport. Basketball became more than just a game, it became a passion. Pursuing this passion has been rewarding, inspiring, and empowering.
Basketball was a new experience to me a few years ago, but i never realized I was going to love it. When I was younger, I’ve always wanted to play the sport of basketball, and I got my opportunity to play when I was in fifth grade at Monte Vista Elementary.
“Are you interested in this?” , my dad asks multiple times about multiple sports. I as a four year old just learning about sports, and watching them with my family decide that basketball is for me. So I go on to rec league… I learn how to dribble, pass, and shoot. Time passes and by middle school I can shoot left-handed layups, cross-over behind my back and in between my legs. High school is here.. and I become even more advanced not just with fundamentals, but mentally, and even more aggressively, and physical. I have a purpose, I love the game, and I want to play it as long as I can.
I believe in sports. I believe that it is capable of changing the world. Sports are a part of our culture that all started with the ancient Greeks. I think sports is a way to unite people as it has throughout the years. Sports can bring people all across the country together. It brings countries together to compete in games and events instead of fighting each other. Sports can not only bring strangers together, but also bring family together. For example, a son can bond with his father through sports. When you play a sport and you lose, your true character shows. Some people are sore losers and jerks after they lose. Then there are some people that congratulate the other team, even though they are upset. I however am a little bit of both. When I play sports, most of the time I show sportsmanship and
For a majority of people in the world, if they were to wake up with 350 million dollars, and would be able to be fully retired by 38 years old, then they would be very content and happy with their lives. Being able to wake up every day in a big mansion, lying with your family by the poolside, not worrying about financial issues for yourself or loved ones, and lastly having the great opportunity for you and your whole family, to not work a day the rest of your lives. It is an ideal situation that approximately 99.99% of people would want. But, an outlier, challenges those astonishing odds, by using their influence and popularity, to help out and make a difference. Not
I would say that one of the biggest things in my life right now is basketball. I’m not the greatest at it, but compared to last year I am a lot better than I was. It’s been a lot of time and work put into this and I am glad to say I am a basketball player for the school of East Wake Academy. I have been one of the biggest players in the school program.
I began playing Basketball freshmen year as a way to release my emotions and forget the thoughts that gave me stress or made me overthink. My coaches gave me the nickname of “Mean Darline” because of how tough and aggressive I would get when being on defense. Little did they know that I wasn’t good at that position because I loved Basketball but because it maintained me calm and allowed me to express myself in a socially approved activity. When the season was finished and I retired from Basketball after my sophomore year I went back to going to the gym three to four times a week. Gym workouts or any physical activity is great to rechannel one’s unacceptable impulses without others criticizing us for our actions.
My basketball team and I were going head to head against Lamar Bruni Middle School for the second time that season. The parents loved to cheer us on and capture so many pictures of us, they were our cheerleaders all season long. We were 5-0 at the time and losing that game was not an option for any of my teammates nor the coaches. Unfortunately, I was not able to give it my all in that game due to me twisting my ankle in the third quarter.
I love tuning into a game on a Tuesday night, in the middle of an incredible stretch of games, to see if a player or team can keep playing at that level. It makes the dog days of January so much better.
This is about why i like the nba and why the phoenix suns are my favorite team in the NBA and how i got into basketball.
Have you ever been forced to do something that you really don’t want to do? It could seem like agony at first, but in the end it will usually always turn out OK. Well, at least it did for me. It all started on a chilly, winter morning in third grade when my mother’s heartfelt words and tears, changed who I am today for the better.
I dribbled left, crossed over to my right hand and went in for a layup, and...BANG! The door to the garage flew open and I missed the basket by a mile. “Emily! I just got the email! You are one of seven girls to make the Prime Time basketball team!” my mom yelled form the doorway. I felt as though the sun had just got ten times brighter, and the rest was a blur. I thought back to my tryouts.
If there’s any lone reason I play basketball I would word it as, “One game of basketball can teach a young man lessons that will help him branch out into the world”. Each quarter of basketball teaches different skills.
