Personal Statement : Career Goals

On a personal level I would like to get better at basketball as well as baseball. In three years i see myself being a little bit more involved in technology and graphic design. Sooner or later like every kid I will turn 18 wich mean time for a job i'm going to go into it strong I think i am going to work at Old Navy. I hopefully will be able to stay in this job as long as possible to make as much money as I can. These goals are important to me because it will make me feel good as a person. It is a good start as a teen to make money. School has prepared me because I will pick the right classes to assist me in my career.

When I think of my career goals, I ask myself what I want to accomplish in life. I know that I love helping patients and families, and I want to continue to do that. I always am changing my mind on what I want to do after my BSN. I don’t know when or if I will get my masters or continue to work at the bedside for a while. I love what I do and what I do for other people and families. Working in the critical care unit feels like home. I get to do what I love.

“Sport is the force that unites and empowers us to be better, no matter how you look, what you believe or what language you speak.” These words of Olympian Simone Biles illustrate my life-long passion for sports and the science behind it. I had been an athlete all my life and planned on continuing my track and field career at the collegiate level before a critical injury switched my focus from athletics to academics. When I began my studies at the University of Colorado Colorado Springs, I knew my future would involve helping athletes grow to their fullest potential in strength, athleticism, and overall health. Having majored in Health Science with a focus in Health and Wellness Promotion and a minor in Nutrition, I would now like to concentrate on Strength and Conditioning.

My name is Elana Sanguigni, and I am a sophomore student at Pine-Richland Senior High School in Gibsonia, Pennsylvania. My interest in the Health Career Academy is immense, and I exhibit a profound interest in a future career in the health industry. The Health Career Academy, would provide enlightening educating opportunities to gain valuable knowledge, pertaining to various health careers. Though I have conducted some research and analyzed various health career fields, I truly aspire to explore and learn more in order to academically prepare for a future in the health industry. My academic love for Biology, Chemistry and all science courses, in addition to my love and care for people have led me to inquire a path of future health careers to utilize my desire to help people.

Please explain what art materials/camp projects you are most interested in? (ex. claymation, stop motion, drawing, painting, fashion, etc.)

This class has overall been one of my favorite classes that I have taken over the past four years five years at DeSales. I learned more than I expected and have implemented some of these learned lessons towards simple excel calculations into my work at my job. For my chosen project, I decided to take a look at one of my hobbies. During my senior year I took a personal finance and discussed with one of my professors about my collection of trading cards. The result of this conversation, had me start thinking about the overall value of my collection for insurance purposes and if I ever sold the collection.

Growing up in rural Oklahoma, I have been involved in mission trips, Oklahoma’s Project under 21 program, Crossfit, and local community child care centers. Being involved in my community, I have been able to maintain professional relationships by communicating effectively with compassion and patience. This enabled me to stress the importance of daily dietary and hygiene needs and its impact on overall general health. These experiences have instilled a passion in me, which ultimately led me to pursue a career in the dental field. I learned more about the field soon after working with those community child care centers. I researched dental hygiene as a potential career by exploring articles on the internet,

In all honesty, I don’t know what I want from the world. So many ideas go through my brain, that I get a little bit frustrated with myself. I want to find the path that is true to who I am. I believe that the Career Exploration program help me find this path. At this point in my mind, I am stuck at a fork in the road between my dream jobs and I’m ready to finally pick.

I strongly believe that everyone should have access to a high quality education and to have the opportunity to academically develop to their full potential. With each decade we enter a new era of globalization, and our classrooms are becoming increasingly diverse. My main goal as an educator is to provide students from all cultural and linguistic backgrounds with tools to support their intellectual, social, cultural, and emotional development.

Describe your educational career and life goals. Explain your plan for achieving these goals. Include your degree/major, why you selected it, and how this degree/major will help you achieve your goals.

Like many adult learners, choosing a major is often difficult. With there being so many degrees available and a number of fields to choose from, we often worry about making the wrong choice when it comes to picking a career field of study. This proved to be a definitive struggle for myself, especially early into my college experience but there was always something inside of me that longed to help others. This made my decision to pursue a Bachelor of Science degree in nursing through the accelerated program, a no brainer once I discovered that there was still a way for me to obtain a nursing degree after spending so many years’ prior, pursuing others.

1. My current goal is finding a position with a company who allows me to start building a career while allowing me to grow and develop new skills. Over the course of the next five years, I plan to have continued my education and achieved a higher level of education within healthcare administration. After receiving such achievement, I would essentially use it to work toward a higher position with more responsibilities of management.

Participation in this program will support me and my goals to be the first person in my family to receive higher than a bachelor’s degree. I plan to receive my Ph.D. in abnormal child psychology, and I am currently in early education and care at my high school as my career path. I truly believe that I connect on a personal level with children and my interest in mental illnesses and why they occur fits into that career description perfectly. I would like to leave Delaware and experience the world, starting with where I attend college. Louisiana State University, Spellman University, or Texas A&M are my top 3 colleges that I would love to attend and pursue my career goals. I aspire to be very successful in everything that I have planned to do

Politics is defined by Webster dictionary as, “the activities, actions, and policies that are used to gain and hold power in a government or to influence a government.”  I aim to one day work in our government and influence lives in a positive manner. I want to help create a sound government in any way possible. Intellectually, I yearn to learn more about the processes in government, to overall aid in my professional goal of being a successful politician.

Ever since a young age, I have aspired to become a strong, hard-working woman. Throughout high school I have gone through some personal trials that have tested my own belief in accomplishing my dream, but perseverance led me to Central Michigan University. People say that every challenge you face will make or break you, and I believe that Nouvel Catholic Central made me into the person that is here today. With all the occurrences that have led me here today, I will go forth with tenacity and determination to persevere through my college years into becoming the professional I believe I can be and face any obstacle that may come forth with steadfastness and indefatigability.
