During my tenure at Mississippi Valley State University, I have maintained a 3.88 grade point average. As I progressed throughout college, I knew I wanted to be queen someday. My junior year at MVSU, I was crowned Miss. Junior 2016-2017. It gets better!!! Currently, I serve as Miss Mississippi Valley State University for the 2017-2018 academic school year. It is an honor to be able to stand before my peers and represent such great institution of higher learning. As I reign, I stand on the platform of: BE FEARLESS: DO WHAT YOU FEAR AND FEAR DISAPPERS, I am challenging everyone to live each day being fearless and brave. My ultimate goal as Miss Mississippi Valley State University, is to use my personal platform to relate to students through positive
PREP is going to be an exciting experience for me to learn new material. I believe that participating in PREP will help me be better prepared for university work. A&M is a hard college to get into, only accepting 7% of all applicants. Prep will allow me to make a better effort to get to Texas A&M University. I want to get to year four and succeed at completing college.
I have known Natalie Schieuer for almost half a year now, and in that time I have been incredibly pleased to meet such an amazing, talented, and brilliant young lady. I was Natalie’s counselor this summer at Nebraska Girls State. Girls State is a week-long camp, aimed towards education of state and local government. 400 of Nebraska’s top emerging high school juniors are chosen to attend this program, and within these numbers, Natalie still managed to shine through with her accomplishments and wit.

I am writing in hopes of being granted an appeal to live off campus for the Fall semester of my Junior year. Though the privilege of living off campus is typically reserved for students who are rising Seniors, under these certain circumstances I would like to ask to be given an exception to this rule.
Independence. The bittersweet feeling of becoming an adult creates a new aura around me, as I obtain a job and become more responsible for my actions. Montclair State University will give me a greater sense of separation from my family and allow myself to try new activities, while staying close by and not breaking my parent’s bank account. Montclair is a clean, active, and safe environment to allow myself to be comfortable with my surroundings and interactions. Besides my reasoning to attend college here, which is for the nursing program, my academic strengths, involvement in the school, and certain characteristics make me an ideal candidate.
During my senior year of high school, I was not financially stable enough to depart from my hometown and my family. Therefore I enrolled in John Tyler Community College because I felt that it possessed the ability to help me progress academically while allowing me to remain close to my family members. However, I found that John Tyler’s real estate program is not stimulating enough, and I wish to challenge myself further by transferring to VCU. John Tyler Community College offers a real estate career studies certificate, but I do not believe it would enable me to reach my full potential as a bachelor's degree from VCU could. To pursue my goal of attending VCU, and to prepare myself for more rigorous curriculum, I began to enroll in courses transferable
I come from a family where college was not always the right answer. My father is black and my mother is Panamanian. I went to PWI in Texas and I never got to see black excellence. When I had gotten pregnant and married my eyes were opened up and I completely changed. I wanted my daughter she belongs to a people of achievements and success, and although her mother is mixed that I am proud of my history and is grateful and completely honor my ancestors for their sufferings. I wanted to finally belong and that is why I chose to go to my HBCU. My future goals will be assisted by attending Fayetteville State University by getting my feet wet and receiving my bachelor’s at an accredited university. I will be able to diversify the field of medicine
In all fifty states of America, it is probably hard for some students to pick which college to go to. Some would go Midwest, down south or all way to the west coast, but I believe that my state university will give me the best education. Only forty-five minutes away from home, Rutgers can offer me the greatest learning facilities, several of challenging classes and be part of a diverse community where I can achieve my personal enrichment and career goals.
Life can be unpredictable at times, you never know where your next journey will lead you. From attending two universities, to changing majors three times. To finally, realizing where and what you want to do with your life. Figuring out life choices can sometimes be a struggle. I really did not even think about coming to Fort Valley State University. As a transfer student I had to be careful with choosing schools to transfer to. Making sure I would not lose credits and put myself behind more. My first choice was Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College, but they didn’t accept all my credits. So, Fort Valley State University was my last resort. I chose Fort Valley State University, to follow my passion for agriculture.
I believe that everyone the potential to make a difference in this world; it is just so that many don’t have a support system to push them towards achieving a goal. Kids from the beginning are perpetually convinced that they are worthless and that they could never be successful. Fortunately, I am blessed with a community who gave me the confidence to discover that I can achieve whatever I wish for in life; that group of people is UCLA Unicamp. UCLA Unicamp is an organization that strives on changing kids lives’ from all over Los Angeles. UCLA students volunteer as counselors and take the campers up the mountain to Camp River Glen for one week. Unicamp has many programs directed towards different life skills and the one I enrolled in was Unicorps; Unicorps is based on learning the value of community service and leadership.
Oberlin attracts me as a institution because of the role of leadership it takes within the country historically. As the world becomes more interconnected with new technologies, as a nation, I believe we face a new issue of how to react to events that happen to our neighbors and kin around the globe. Though Oberlin College does maintain some "traditional American values", the school also steps ahead compared to most other colleges when it comes to the institution's mission and goal. Therefore, seeing Oberlin's progressive visions that have bettered countless communities, I am thrilled to become a part of the student body that enlightens a new, interconnected generation of world citizens. Another aspect of Oberlin College that excites me is the
Penn State is a tradition in my family and I hope to carry on that tradition. The last three generations of my family; my father, grandfather, and great-grandfather all attended Penn State. Now it is my time to become the fourth generation. I want to be able to have pride in the institution my family members loved to attend and take part in the activities that make Penn State great. I cannot wait to attend athletic events, join clubs, and participate in philanthropic activities such as THON. I want to be part of the Penn State community to make friends not just for my time spent at PSU but for a lifetime. My success at Penn State will be from my desire to take part in the institution through events and academics.
Life comes at you fast when you graduate high school, so you will need to be prepared. To be prepared you must make a plan for your future, but just in case you might want to have a backup plan. My plan is to attend Graceland University in Lamoni, Iowa where I will major in Sports Management, and minor in Communications. I want to study Sports Management in hopes to one day be a college basketball coach, but in case that plan doesn’t work I am minoring in Communications to be a sports broadcaster. I feel I am well prepared because my teachers here at Fair Play have taught me how to apply myself, manage my time, and set goals for myself.
In the future I would like to pursue a higher education San Diego State University. San Diego isn't just a great school but also not to far from home. I believe San Diego State would be the perfect school for me because it fulfills all my personal desires and academic goals.
