When I asked her why she wanted to be a nurse she told me me proudly, “my dad had told me when I was in high school that I should be a nurse because I was so caring for everyone and that would be the perfect job for me.” Her dad passing away motivated her to be a nurse because that what he wanted her to be and she also wanted to become a nurse. …show more content…
She would study and do her homework in her car during her breaks at work since she had to work and go to school.
Lydia felt forced to grow up when she was 18-years-old because her father passed away. With her father passing away she had to work and take care of her three little siblings while her mom would go to work. Her being the oldest made her be in charge of her three younger siblings and take charge of everything her dad almost did. Lydia said, “being the oldest child was hard because my siblings would look up to me and I had to be the role model for all of them to
Choosing a major has been one of the most difficult challenges I have faced as a student. While many students select their major based upon statistics and ideals, I base my decision primary on my strong commitment and my passion. Furthermore, I have learned that a major should encompass your love, talents, and desire for success in that subject. Forensic Chemistry wasn’t my first choice. When I first came to Grambling State University my major was nursing. I wanted to be a nurse ever since I was little, my mother is a nurse so I been around that environment all my life. My plan was to graduate from Grambling State University with a Bachelor degree in nursing. Then go to a community college to get my certification in forensic science to become
challenges in this career. I choose the career of being a nurse because I enjoy helping other people.
After high school, I am planning to transfer to a four-year university. I would like to get the necessary degree to become a pediatrician. Sometimes thing do not always go as planned and you must have a backup plan. If I do not end up going to four-year university, I plan on going to a community college to a get a job where a major degree is not needed. I would probably go to a community college to become a certified nursing assistant. I would want to become a CNA because my dream would be to work in the medical field.
Since I can remember I have always had a compassion and natural desire to care for my fellow man. Now having this opportunity, I remain committed to this task. During my nursing career as a Registered Nurse, I allow myself time to grow clinically and to expose myself to a variety of health care emergency situations which continues to be very valuable to me in strengthening my career. It is very fortunate that I have the opportunity to be in a position to where I am today.
It is said that the environment of our upbringing plays a salient role in determining the ambitions we pursue, the moral values we cherish and ultimately, the lasting contributions we make to society. I firmly believe that my formative experiences laid down the foundation for passion for nursing and constitute one of the salient reasons why I am determined to pursue this profession. For me nursing, is more than a mere vocation, it is a moral commitment, the manifestation of my natural talents and the actualization of the deep-seated aspirations that I have nourished since childhood. My mother was an accomplished nurse and always set a remarkable example for me to follow by displaying virtues of compassion, moral courage and dedication to the public good. My life experiences compelled me to emulate her example by cultivating the virtues of compassion and genuine sensitivity to patients. My formative experiences and core values led me to enter this career in the capacity of a Certified Nursing Assistant where I was distinguished for not only my competence as a nurse assistant, but also for my remarkable sensitivity to the needs of the patients. I intend to continue to actualize my natural talents by pursuing a career in Nursing.
I would like to pursue a career as a Registered Nurse because I like to work with all types of people. When you become a registered nurse your job will be to arrange patient care. Also to educate the patient and the public about health conditions such as contagious viruses and diseases. According to Bureau of Labor Statistics in 2014, 2,751,000 people got jobs as registered nurses. Also according to Bureau of Labor Statistics between 2014-2024 the amount of jobs as registered nurses will grow 16% faster than average. I am choosing registered nurse as my career goal because I am passionate when it comes to helping people.
As a thirty six year old adult my focus has shifted towards my career aspirations over

“There is no human that ever became interesting by not failing. The more you fail, recover, and improve, the better you are as a person.” This quote, by Chris Hardwick, helped drive my motivation to succeed despite failing multiple times. During the summer of 2015, I completed the Bachelor of Science in Health Care Management program at the University of Alabama at Birmingham. Excited to begin a new chapter in my life, I submitted numerous applications to employers that were actively hiring. Unaware of the meaning of my status as a newly graduated individual on the market, I applied for mid-level manager positions with very little work experience. During this time, I had just one year of health care experience from working at Walgreen’s Pharmacy as a Pharmacy Technician and Baptist Health Systems as a Patient Access
All my life I've been asked the question, what do you want to be when you get older. Prior to high school I couldn't really give a specific answer. As I've grown these last several years in high school, I have finally recognized that my true passion lies within the medical and nursing field. As a high school senior currently taking a Clinical Studies course I have realized that what I truly want to be is a Nurse Practitioner in the ER. I am an outgoing and caring individual who is really looking forward to participating in many college activities, such a volunteering and devoting my time to the community and people in need. The University of South Carolina is a perfect fit for me because they offer an outstanding Nurse Practitioner's program,
For as long as I can remember I always wanted to become a nurse. Throughout high school I have maintained straight A’s and have maintained a 3.5 GPA or higher. As of now my GPA is a 3.7 and I am ranked 12 in a class of at least 123 students. I have been a member of the National Honors Society for two years. This program has helped me push harder for the things that I want to achieve in life. I have also been enrolled into the EMT and Nurse’s Aide dual enrollment class. I am also involved in extracurricular activities as well and with those activities I have presented tremendous leadership skills. I was captain of the volleyball team this year and I have also earned my rights of being captain of the indoor and outdoor track and field team for
I am applying to Talent Development because I really have a desire to major in nursing. I will love to apply to URI’s nursing program and I have always been interested in becoming a nurse and my ultimate goal is to become a nurse practitioner. I have always wanted this because I love the fact that I'm interacting with people while helping them and changing someone's world. I really want to be part of this program to flourish and learn more about nursing and enhancing my reading and writing skills. I will honestly be thrilled if I get into this program. I love the idea that my TD adviser will help me only to succeed in my courses and the help that I will receive.
My love for the Nursing began when I was eight years old. I gathered my younger cousins to check their heartbeats, ear canals, and temperatures with my Fisher-Price Medical Kit Playset that was gifted to me by my Mother and Father. It is funny how at such a young age I knew that Medicine would play an important role in my life and even to this day my passion for medical care has not expired. Since completing my Bachelor’s Degree at Palm Beach Atlantic University, it is with great interest that I am pursuing to fill a place in University of Miami’s School of Nursing and Health Studies for the Summer 2016 term.
I enjoy connecting myself with an individual and learning new things. Sometimes all a person needs is a friend, someone to talk to when feeling down. Working as a nursing assistant at McLeod Regional Medical Center, has taught me the true meaning of “nursing”. The nursing profession is more than just “helping people.” This profession builds relationships and impacts the emotional wellbeing of an individual. I have been given me the opportunity to positively impact patients and the community. I believe continuing my education to become a nurse will allow me to learn from other careers and add to my knowledge.
Trying to put into words why I want to be a nurse is like asking a priest why he loves God so much – it makes him happy and fulfilled. My main source of inspiration to become a nurse comes from an innate desire to help and care for people in their times of need. I’m a person who thrives on being challenged and I always have new goals to achieve, so nursing is perfect for me. I love helping and interacting with others, and this fact was only strengthened as I grew older. I was and still am determined to change the world, no matter how small the impact is. I spent many hours helping others through Christian service, volunteerism, and Girl Scouts. I am currently pursuing my Gold Award, which is the highest honor given. Being an athlete, I have
