In order to approach learning deeply, I feel I must be intrigued with what I’m doing. I give a purpose to my assignments, work, and life. It’s not all about getting a passing grade, but more about being so engaged that I grasp the material and take it to the next level. To be honest, I used to be a surface learner; therefore, I just got by without putting any effort into my assignments. In high school when I was assigned homework, I would just wait until the last-minute or even do it in class the second it was due. I lived each day without a care about stretching my abilities or about actually learning and understanding the content. Not only did I have a poor attitude about school, but I also lived my life without responsibility. As soon as I became confident in myself and my strength to flourish, I began questioning my work and assignments. I started to want to know additional information about the material I was assigned. I took the deep learning approach when I realized the surface learning approach was lacking. Once I changed the way I perceived information, I changed the way I lived my life. Every day there’s an option to see the world on a surface level or to see the world from a new perspective. It’s a choice to take learning to a whole new dimension. High school was a rigorous time for me as I’m sure it is for many teens. I made it harder for myself by not doing the best I could. For example, when a huge exam was coming up, I wouldn’t read all of the material.
High school is always considered some of the best years of life. Students live with their families, see their friends almost everyday, and participate in the activities they love with the people they love. It has enough freedom for the student to decide how hard they will try, but it also has just the right amount of restrictions that parents can step in to make the student work. High school also gives students many opportunities to succeed and keep letting them try again if they fail. For example, a math teacher may allow a student to retake two test throughout a semester, but if the student proves that they are trying in the class then the teacher may allow them to retake a few more tests. Also, schoolwork is not tedious or lengthy,
Throughout my high school career I have had many ups and many downs. High School by far has been the biggest challenge I’ve ever had to overcome. Freshman year and sophomore year were my easiest years academic wise but my junior and senior years have been very challenging. But while facing these challenges I have learned many things that may be helpful for those future seniors who are trying to get through high school.
High School is a time when many teenagers get into trouble and have many conflicts and struggles. Without all of the struggles, high school is supposed to be four terrific years. There are many struggles for teens like peer pressure, managing your time, fitting in, and many more. Most high schoolers will get pressured by their peers at some point and can cause some serious problems. About fifty-five percent of students play a high school sport on top of having a job, keeping your grades up, and just overall having fun, which can be very hard to do. During High school, students are going to want to not be themselves and want to fit in without being judged by their peers. High school should be a time for you to have some great years in your

Going through high school makes a dominant impression on most teen’s lives. It’s a rite of passage that goes along with making mistakes and
High school is such a different experience for everyone. We all take different paths and learn new things everyday. We learn trigonometry, how to fix cars, how to dissect a frog, and different laws in the world. The things we learn in class are very important, but along the way of expanding our educations, one will tend to learn a lot about themselves and others. For me, I feel that my high school experience was not ideal and I constantly complain about the outcome. Looking back in grade eight, I had a different plan for me. It took me up until this year to realize that although my experience was not something worth bragging about, I've learned a lot about who I am. I've learned to take chances, be patient, and
Freshman year I was shy and never really stepped out of my comfort space. I thought I was prepared for high school. I signed up for two honors class thinking that they would be hard but I knew I could figure them out. Reality was quickly thrown into my face.
High school was full of challenges, and no one should sugar coat that. When I was signing up for my classes as a freshman, everyone told me to pace myself, that I should not be stressed out. They kept telling me that high school was very hard, and it should not be taken in one giant bite. So, I signed up for easy classes my first trimester. I found myself sitting at home, doing absolutely nothing, and I almost died of complete boredom. I started to challenge myself, by signing up for honors classes that next trimester. I found myself studying most nights, which was giving me something to do besides sit there and annoy my parents. Throughout the rest of my high school career, I wanted to challenge myself even more. When my junior year came around, so did the fast forward program. That gave students a whopping $4,125 to use towards college classes. Who, in their right mind, would not sign up for any of these classes? I signed up, and passed every college class that the high school allowed me to take. I am grateful to be able to complete almost an entire year of college without having to pay a dime.
Starting high school was nerve-wracking for me just like everyone else. I had made the Varsity competition cheerleading team as the first Freshman to do so. I was also one of the first three Freshman to audition and make it into the Wind Ensemble, the top band. Being a Virtual Performing Arts School, where arts are weighed as college courses, it was very competitive to get in. I was surrounded by upperclassmen on both ends of the spectrum and was determined to prove myself.
Once I learn a new concept, it doesn’t take long for me to understand what it means and how it applies to what I’m learning. I’ve always been passionate about learning, even from a young age! I was always eager to do any type of learning, whether it was simple writing exercises or math problems. Because I’ve always been so passionate about learning, I have built a very strong work ethic. I always give my full effort on all work and pay attention to the small details.
When I initially began High School I thought internally, this is it, this is the point at which my life changes, this is where school work gets harder, classes get harder, the sports become more advanced, and my evaluations in High School are going to reflect my employment, and universities later on, and everything in my life has finally become a hectic roller coaster. But I know that High School is like a stream because along the way you'll find some trash, go over some harsh spots, discover a whirlpool or two, stagnate for a bit, lastly get to the end of the adventure and acknowledge you have had an awesome ride. I know this without a doubt in light of the reality that back in middle school/ junior high I got awful grades I kept saying to myself every time, that I have to stay focused and get my grades up because my grades in my previous years would follow me through high school. In middle school it was hard for me to remain centered and complete my work, and get decent grades. I had to keep my mind like a sponge and absorb all the details I could in every class.
High school was exhausting for that reason alone. All of my friends and peers were constantly talking about what they wanted to be and what their dream school was. Things like dentistry, nursing and physical therapy were included in ninety percent of the
Entering high school is the beginning of a whole new learning experience. Transitioning from middle school, high school presents more classes, students, and a bigger campus. It brings new expectations and responsibilities to each of us. High school also offers fresh chances to make new friends, try new sports and activities, and really explore who we are as individuals. The goal is to maintain good grades, score high on the SAT test, and keep a positive attitude so colleges and universities will accept you. Of course it's not as easy at sounds, but it's achievable. It requires a lot of work and dedication to every subject. Some students breeze their way through while others live in misery trying to pass their
My first year of high school was filled with adventures and difficulties throughout the years. Comparing to my other years, I took challenges, such as taking on sports while finding the time for my school works and achieving my goals. However, I was able to find the way and fight through my freshman year.
High school is full of many twists and turns and no one knows exactly what's going to happen in high school. There can be many things that can help to have a simple high school life but there is also things that can make it harder. I am going to be talking about three of my hardships I have faced during high school.
