When defining myself, I took the Myers Briggs personality test online and the results were that I am an INFJ (The Advocate). From past experiences in my opinion my strengths are that I have a very strong work ethic, which I believe I inherited from my dad. Also I feel I am a very organized person when it comes to certain things. For example, I get very upset when a pen is not in a certain place on my desk. I feel most of my success from school comes from being organized and on top of my studies by managing my time efficiently. My last strength that I feel is unique is my everlasting patience with people. This trait of patience has developed over time because I grew up with a little brother that was diagnosed with autism at an early age and …show more content…

Student Organization clubs that I am involved in on campus are the Economics Society and I am also somewhat involved in Campus Ministry at times. I have yet to obtain an internship however I am aggressively looking for one this summer possibility somewhere in the finance industry. I also have not study abroad and I don’t think I will. I am fluent in English and Vietnamese, which is my native language. Another important educational background of mine is that I graduated from Mater Dei High School Class of 2013 in Santa Ana. I’ve have had three jobs, two at Loyola Marymount University and one at the Orange County Fair. My most recent and present job is being a Front Desk Receptionist at the Jesuit Community at Loyola Marymount University. Some of my main tasks are transferring phone calls and answering any inquiries on the phone that people have. I also maintain and manage a clean reception area as well as direct visitors to appropriate personnel. I basically do anything that the Jesuits need me to do for them. My other job was a summer job at the library at Loyola Marymount University. I was a shelving assistant at the library and some of my responsibilities were shelving and maintaining the order of books using the Dewey decimal system. I also retrieved books from the basement storage area and brought them up for patrons that reserved them. My third job was also a summer job but it was back home at the Orange County Fair. I had various responsibilities including monitoring the admission of fair patrons for proper ticket or credential, providing front line bag inspection for guest and staff by identifying dangerous and non-permitted items, Operating ticket scanning equipment and providing guidance for other employees in its proper use
Whenever the term legacy is invoked in conversation it elicits many different responses. What is it that makes a person have a legacy that will endure long after he or she has breathed their last breath? In my judgement there are several factors that enable a person to have a long lasting impact on others. There are several key attributes that I feel contribute in the greatest manner of developing a person into who they are and into the professional and the leader they were destined to become. As I take an in-depth view of myself and evaluate the abilities that I possess, there are areas I must identify to improve upon whether strengths or weaknesses. The strengths are my endurance, compassion, and leadership,
Pursing a career as a medical doctor is an opportunity for me to mentor youth in underserved populations. As a child, I was raised in the low income, urban community of Roxbury, MA. Although not as notorious today, the neighborhood had garnered negative attention for its high crime rates. My mother emigrated from Haiti and raised me as a single parent. Due to our financial circumstance, Roxbury became our permanent residence. I have always felt there was something lacking in Roxbury in comparison to other towns I visited. My teenage years were largely spent in the suburban town of Stoneham where I attended high school. There was a literal difference in air quality and a psychology contrast in future prospects. While native students of

The world would be a lot better of a place if everyone got along and knew how to communicate effectively with one another. There are several different personalities at any given workplace. “According to typological theory, each of us is born with a predisposition for certain personality preferences” (Kroeger pg11 para4). The Myers-Briggs Personality assessment is the most effective way to determine one’s personality type. The test uses different markers to determine how one is stimulated and exerts energy, gather information, make decisions, and living structure. At the completion of the test one will get personality type that is comprised of four letters. The test was developed based off of Carl Jung and Isabel Briggs-Myers’ psychological research on personalities and later dissected into Otto Kroeger’s book, “Type Talk at Work.” This book gives one the tools to determine what one’s personality is and then goes into great detail about one’s strengths and weaknesses and how it applies to to real life situations. My personality description is ENFP; Extravert, iNtuitive, Feeling, and Perceiving. The following are details regarding and ENFP personality type examining a holistic view including personal and work place interactions. Everything is based on insights gained from real world experiences and interactions.
Nothing feels better than giving back to a place that has given so much to people. A majority of the little things that we do day by day are taken for granted or they are just seen as nothing major. In reality there are so many things that are given to us and we do not always see the little things in life as anything of mass importance. For our kindness project we decided that it was time for us to give a little to ensure someone had a smile at the end of the day. We partnered up with the Rho Nu club here on campus and together we made tie blankets. These blankets that we made will be donated to the Sacred Heart hospital in Spokane later this month. We decided to do this project in the hopes of giving a little, but making it count for a lot more. We hoped that the children receiving these blankets always get a smile on their face or simply that they just find comfort in these blankets. In this project I was the leader of the group and I did most of the organization of
Personality assessments can serve as a powerful and impactful tool that benefits the participants or others with whom your paths may cross. Inevitably, taking assessments like this requires self-awareness in order to maximize the value of the results. In this case, the McGraw-Hill assessment covered a wide array of topics which provided an extensive assessment of my values, personality style, motivational influences and contributing factors that drive my behaviors (McGraw-Hill Education, 2017). This evaluation offered me personal insights on how I behave in various situations, the impact my behavior may have on others, additional context around my personality traits and style, and organizational considerations that may influence my actions,
My life has been impacted immensely through my experience as a lifeguard and swimming instructor for the City of Ottawa. I have had a passion for aquatics ever since I was a young child, and remained committed towards my goal of completing various courses and certifications in order to obtain the lifeguard and swimming instructor position that I hold now. I work approximately thirteen hours a week at this job, on top of the hours I commit to my two other jobs. Aside from my paid employment, I have learned to manage my time effectively in order to participate in numerous extracurricular activities, as well as to maintain strong academic performance. As a swimming instructor, I am expected to prepare weekly and long range lesson plans for the
For my undergraduate career I attended Elon and majored in Psychology. In summation Elon University’s vision and mission inspires students “freedom of thought and liberty of conscience” by focusing on four major commitments. The first is fostering a community of active student engagement with faculty and staff dedicated to scholarly accomplishment and proficient teaching. The second is supplying students with challenging and dynamic curriculum anchored in traditional liberal arts and sciences. Third is fitting students to become informed leaders and global citizens catered towards the concern for the common good in society. Fourth is having respect for “human differences, integrity, desire for learning, as well as work ethic and service.” Personally

I have read the chapter on careers in child welfare, and I believe that a job in this field would be good for me. I have worked with many children during high school and college. I have work with children in the age range of 2 month-4 years old and 4 years old – 13 years old I have worked with children in different settings like after school programs and child daycares. I am very empathetic and sympathetic to the feeling of the children in these setting. I always looked out for the children and made sure they were out of harm’s way. I have listened to their problem and have given them advice. I have interacted with some parents of the children but they were more from the inner city. I haven’t really interacted with a parent who is in rural

In our lives, we have to make important choices, and sometimes our choices determine our happiness or sadness. As a Filipino, our families tell us to do well in school and to not make bad choices because they want us to be successful and to have ethical morals. Growing up as a Catholic, I was taught to be obedient and respectful to my family which has shaped who I am today. Yet, I too made some mistakes, and I learned from the consequences. From my failures, I learned to not belittle myself, but to grow.
I like to think I have many strengths. After review of my character/ personality test, I can see what they are. I am a task-oriented leader, which drives me to finish a project. I have a strong individual work ethic, which allows me to be responsible and not rely on others. I am good at building and leading
The purpose of this memo is to evaluate my listening skills, assess my strengths and weaknesses, and describe how I can improve my skills. My listening self-assessment score of 36 indicates that, although my skill level is decent, I have room to improve significantly. I regularly attend professional meetings where either informational listening or critical listening is required. Despite this, I consider my listening skills subpar and am aware of my need for improvement. In understanding how I can improve, I must first assess my strengths and weaknesses.
