Going from a middle school to high school pretty much for anybody can tend to be challenging. High school is the place where you start to mature yourself and better yourself for later on in life for whatever the future may bring. Coming from 8th grade entering into high school as a freshman depending on where you're at can be tough, you really start to realize that you are starting to have responsibilities. You may not start feeling that way in the beginning which in my case I could say the same, but it definitely comes. Converting as an 8th grader to high school you notice the teachers don't baby you in situations if it's your work or your project it's your job to know what's going on the teachers definitely won't look for you.

Finally, I am finished with middle school. Anxiously thinking about the first day of high school, I knew that it would be hectic and wild, but I was ecstatic. Of course, the night before I could not sleep. I lay awake dreaming about how my first day at John Paul II will go. How will it be meeting new people and seeing old friends from last year? Will high school be hard? Will I get lost? I kept thinking about the unknown and worst possible outcomes. My first day of high school was unexpected.

High School is a time when many teenagers get into trouble and have many conflicts and struggles. Without all of the struggles, high school is supposed to be four terrific years. Most high schoolers will get pressured by their peers at some point and can cause some serious problems. If I knew then what I know now I would let up and coming 8th graders know about requirements, friendships, & the building. High School is said to be one of the best times of your life. But, it can also be a scary experience. It is up to you how your high school experience turns out to be. I have only been in high school for twos years. It has been stressful but yet its been extremely fun. Spartanburg High School has many exciting opportunities for you and I to try out.

I am sure it will not be hard to make new friends. The 8th graders are very intimidating but they are actually very friendly and they want to help you through the year. Do not be one of those people who start drama and try to stay out of is. This is a big part of jr. high and you need to avoid it. Just make friends and don’t make a fuss. Make wise choices and do everything thinking about God looking over your shoulder. Think before you do and not do before you think.

In reality, you’re not really prepared for high school like you think you are. You just try and hope you’ll fit in and not stand out too much; at least that’s what my mindset felt like. For starters, I impulsively moved away from home due to my parents. They decided to get back together and move to The Woodlands for a ‘fresh start’ as they call it. Upon hearing that. my high school plans were shattered. I always envisioned graduating with my best friends from junior high. I tried to make the best of the situation, but one grim thing happened after another, kind of like a domino effect.

In a few short months, I will be graduating from high school. With that comes large responsibilities to take care of my own schooling and my own needs. There will be no one there to motivate me to finish my homework or to push me to school everyday. I am in charge of myself now, and it will take some time to get used to. Going to college is a big part of 2018 for me, and I want to start the year strong. Instead of picking a resolution or goal, we picked a word that we wanted to work towards this year. My word is strive. I want to strive to do and be better than I think I can be. To make my resolution easier this year, I picked a word that I can drive towards to get me through any trials.

Most students ask me how high school is going to be like.I always tell them I don't know because I am a seventh grader,but I have a general idea of how it is going to be like.

In high school all freshman 's were taken on a trip upstate to Camp Ramapo, of course everyone was excited to go, little did we know we were all in for a surprise. Upon arrival we all realized that our cellphones had no service we all thought it would be a momentary situation, turns out it was not. We would spend 3 nights and 4 days disconnected from the world, no Facebook, at the time aim, or text messaging. I remember we were all shocked and mad at the thought of not being able to use our phones. The trip started off poorly everyone seemed disinterested in participating in activities, so the camp consolers decided that we would all break off into small groups. It all appeared to be pointless because still no one was willing to participate in the activities, but suddenly we were all asked to share our names and something interesting about ourselves. After we had all shared things changed suddenly, I personally began interacting with people who I had not spoken to at all throughout my first semester which was shocking since I had class with most of them. After the 4 days were over, I came to the realization that those had been the best days of my life. I was able to meet new people even though they weren 't necessary new in my eyes, I participated in activities I had never done before, and most of all I wasn 't so worried about who had and hadn 't texted me, or what the latest news/gossip was. Entering high school is the beginning of a whole new learning experience. Transitioning from middle school, high school presents more classes, students, and a bigger campus. It brings new expectations and responsibilities to each of us. High school also offers fresh chances to make new friends, try new sports and activities, and really explore who we are as individuals. The goal is to maintain good grades, score high on the SAT test, and keep a positive attitude so colleges and universities will accept you. Of course it's not as easy at sounds, but it's achievable. I remember being an anxious eighth grader thinking about starting my freshman year of high school. We went from being at the top of the school to being at the bottom of a new one. All of our middle school teachers always told us about how our high school teachers wont “hold our hands” and how we will be on our own. Being in high school is completely different than being in elementary school and middle school. Its almost like each year we have more and more freedom but more responsibility.
