School lunches
School lunches are like eating raw beef, and the room where we get this food from is as clean as a garbage dumpster with rats living in it. We need a change in the way that we clean with real sanitation solution and the way we portion sizing is in the Middle school and High school lunches. Most kids that have lunch think that there food is disgusting, because a lot of times we don't know what we are eating. There are also some people that get raw food or food that is soggy and moldy. Therefore we need to change the system in some way and put a couple more sides and mix up the menu a lot of times. They have the same 5-10 things a week and they have 5-6 chooses a day. A lot of time we do not get fresh food it is all frozen or processed in some way, there is also sometimes rotten milk that is spoiled and taste gross, kids should not be drinking and eating these foods. On the other side of this issue people think that the food is good and that we should keep it and it is the perfect amount of food for kids and that meat alternatives are a good thing. They also believe that it is good because schools do not have a lot of extra money to get better lunches for kids.

Have you ever thought why you’re school lunch looks so disgusting? Have you ever thought what it’s actually made of? Or why doesn’t this look like the way I ate it at home? For some schools, lunches lack in many different categories from visual pleasure to taste. If the school lunches taste so bad, why don’t we try another way to make them better. For a school in Greeley, Colorado, they’re doing just that. They’re firing up their stoves and are ready to get the ball rolling. There are many reasons on why the school is taking such a huge step backwards. Like, the routine of buying reheated foods and serving them without hesitation. The schools budget cuts or the kitchen being too old and small for the process of preparing such foods. As well as, the list of ingredients that do not need to be in the foods and the risks of diseases/bacteria in the reheated lunches.
A solution to have better school lunches is to increase the budget of school spending for children, this mean having more better quality food which children will enjoy more and have more nutrients. Nutrients and low fatty content is what is being aimed for here, since we are trying to prevent children from eating harmful foods to there bodies. Also if not able to get better quality food at public schools, they should implement a law where children have to physical activities like exercising inside or
In many schools around the country, high school lunch is off-putting to students. The government has set many laws in place, to improve nutrition where it is lacking in many schools across America. Where the meal adjustment lowered the calories of the meals, it has created deficiencies in important nutrients that are necessary for students of all ages to learn to the best of their ability. Often, many students also find the lunch unpleasant, and unsatisfying. Many researchers, and authors have all gathered a wide collection of evidence that all supports problems with lunches found in American schools throughout the country.
Do you ever receive a school lunch and are disgusted by the quality of it, wish you could have the power to change the school’s lunch schedules, or want to stop eating lunch all together? Well, you are not alone, because most students feel the same way! Seventy-seven percent out of 1,300 high school students surveyed, say that they do not like school lunches, and half of students reported that they ate school lunch two days a week or less. However, this could be changed by providing students with a wide range of foods, including those being high in fruits, vegetables, whole grains, and beneficial vitamins that students need to grow and develop. So, should schools be forced to serve students healthy lunches?
Elementary through high school students complain about how poorly made the food is and how they are still hungry after lunch. “Kids get seconds if they are still hungry, but they choose unhealthy selections”(citation) Schools are basically starving students by not giving them enough protein and nutrition. Schools in America need to step up their game. They all need more fruits and vegetables in their school lunch lines. They should gradually add more and more healthy foods, so the
Therefore we need to change the school lunch system even if we would spend a bit more money on school lunches. As a result, we would offer healthier and satisfying school lunches. It would only cost about $5 per child and annually about $27 billion dollars,it may sound to be a costly price. In response to that, there would be an immense outcome of benefits, such as lessening obesity and kids would be able to focus more in school because they would be obtaining healthier school lunches. Proven by researchers' children can process and learn more accurately by eating nutritious meals, unfortunately current lunch meals can not help improve that. Also, several kids are only able to get their meals at school because of financial circumstances. So if it was possible to have nutritious lunches they would get healthier vitamins and
Initially, I agreed with Cheryl Sateri's viewpoint on this topic; however, after further analysis, my opinion changed. I believe the school lunch program simply needs to be revamped. Sateri states, "A fast-food restaurant can provide a convenient, profitable service that will improve the diets of high school students" (Clouse 420). While I find this to be somewhat of a true statement, I feel that the numerous underprivileged children may not benefit from this option.
Central High School is planning to change our school lunches to something that is “healthier” and “less-fattening”. Many students disagree with this idea, but others are completely supportive about this idea. Students want something that will keep them full for the rest of the school day and not be starved to death by time they get home. This makes learning a lot harder and it makes paying attention a lot harder as well.
School lunches have been a hot topic in the Education and Agriculture department for decades. It is noticeably debatable on whether or not to tax more or make costs less, or both. Many students opt out of school lunches due to how unappetizing/non-nutritious it has become, but not every student has this choice and over the past few decades the rate of obesity and type 2 diabetes has doubled, if not tripled, and it begins in the cafeteria. The articles, “Bad Food? Tax It, and Subsidize Vegetables” by Mark Bittman, “Attacking the Obesity Epidemic by First Figuring Out Its Cause” by Jane E. Brody, and “No Lunch Left Behind” by Alice Waters and Katrina Heron, each gave complex views on government intervention, taxing junk food, and enhancement
With obesity, especially among children, increasing in America, the topic of healthier school lunches is a big controversy. Schools all across the country are being forced to choose between healthy lunches and the students’ favorite lunches. Changing school menus is a bad idea. For some students, this could be the only meal he or she receives each day. This may also cause students to bring unhealthier food or skip lunch all together and substitute it with fast food.
Robert Bibbs Ms.Nikniai ERWC Period 2 6, February 2016 School Lunch Proposal Over the years of being in school, we have all come to the agreement that school lunch has never really met our expectations of being tasteful and healthy. In the recent survey more than 54% of high school students say the school lunches don't have enough food or nutrition. Students should have the right to eat healthy and good tasting food. The district who orders the school lunches have been losing money for buying the lunches every year. Leading to a continuous decline in quality. The lunches are not enough nutritious for any athletes or the kids in general. The kids do not have enough food to stay healthy and energized. The school has lost to much money for lunches, and they are leaving kids hungry, sluggish, and miserable.
There are many possible solutions to getting better cafeteria food. Since the school wants to make the food healthier we might be able to make healthy, better tasting food. We also could take a vote on what the kids
When you look at school lunches, do you see amazingly tasty food, carefully cooked and treated with care and delicacy? No, instead you typically see frozen patties that looks and tastes like they were thrown into a microwave, with whole grain bread and disgusting. low-fat milk for a drink. For a long time, school lunches have not met students’ expectations, and there are very easy ways to make school lunches a lot more enjoyable while maintaining a low school budget. School lunches need to have some major improvement with how they prepare their food, and bring a satisfyingly nutritious and delicious meal to the lunch tables.
Don’t you ever wonder what high school kids have to go through when they have to go to the lunchroom, just to find out that it was the same thing as yesterday? Well, I should know, I am in high school myself and also have these problems often. School lunch at school should be healthy and have variety so that it can help students gain enough power to get through the rest of the day. In reality, though, the lunch at school has low nutritional value, and on top of that, the same lunch is served again and again. Also, a reason for the food being unhealthy is the quality at which they serve the food. At times, the food looks overcooked and sometimes looks like they just pulled it out and served it. Therefore, high school lunches should be refined
