Dance has been around for a long time, it is older than many other popular sports we have. It takes on the physical capacity to be labeled as a sport, and yet in most cases, it is not. It is one of the few activities that is both a sport and an art, but it is given very little respect as a sport. Dance has evolved in a number of ways throughout time, but it has always been through a meaning. Whether that be dancing for love or faith, or dancing for first place.

As a kid I never really found the right sport for me. I tried out different kid of sports , but nothing had been the right fit until I found the world of competitive cheer. I had been very hesitant to join because I thought it was something silly, I had been wrong. Cheerleading will always be one of the best opportunity that I have made.

America’s baseball diamonds, soccer fields, hockey rinks, and basketball courts have never been so busy with children. The number of kids involved in an organized sport is not what is so groundbreaking. It’s the way in which children are playing or how their parents are arranging for them to play that may be cause for concern (Ferguson). Much controversy surrounds youth sports with the biggest disagreements coming over parental involvement and the intensity of play. Although there are many benefits for team participation, there is a growing fear that the negatives are starting to outweigh the positives.

Prostitution is one of the oldest and most controversial professions on earth. According to records, prostitution was a normal practice of the earliest known civilizations. Ancient Greeks and Roma governments went as far as sponsoring brothels to ensure their citizens could afford a prostitute. The emergence of religions like Christianity and Islam transformed the moral views on prostitution. Following a tremendous pressure from the religious authorities, many European countries started to ban the practice on the bases of being immoral and harmful to society. In this modern era, we are still debating the ethics of prostitution. Most people claim that prostitution is morally degrading and harmful to the wellbeing of society. While others claim that legalizing prostitution can help create tax revenues, undermine organized crime and reduce the spread of disease. Using utilitarianism, virtue ethics and Kant deontology I will prove that prostitution is immoral and it should be banned.

Although many people may think that boys and girls should not be on the same team, it should be a right and privilege. Girls and boys should have the choice whether or not to play on the same teams. Not only is it more entertaining, but it is an act of our freedom to play with whoever they pick.

Dancing is the movement of one’s body in a rhythmic way. The art of dancing is performed by skillful dancers who can turn the movements into something expressive. Many have said that dancing is not a sport; some say it in a positive way and some in a negative way. Most dancers argue that dancing is a sport. The positive people would say dancing is not a sport because it is art; however, the negative people claim that dancing is not a sport because it does not involve physical contact like football, or the blood, sweat, and tears in the hot sun like other outside sports.

No time to study Our position: We believe that all students involved in athletics should have an athletic study hall to make up time lost for studies during the day. For decades high school students have participated in sports while enrolled in high school. Making time to study and be active is a balance; an athlete must find time for both. Whether an athlete is offered an athletic study hall or not can determine their success in school.

When I was about five years old I started to do sideline cheerleading for the local superlights football team. I enjoyed it then, but as soon as I began to learn about allstar cheerleading, which is also known as competitive cheerleading, my viewpoint on sideline cheer completely changed. At seven years old my friend Molly and I decided that we wanted to tryout for competitive cheerleading. We ended up making the same team, Junior level 2. At the time we were in both sideline cheer and competitive cheer, but as soon as the first season was coming to an end we realized that we have fallen in love with competitive cheerleading and every aspect that comes with it. It was then that we decided to no longer do sideline cheer and to continue on with allstar cheer. The main difference between the two was the amount of tricks we were able to perform. In sideline cheer, it is more chanting for the team and to hype up the crowd. In allstar cheer, you do a two minute and thirty second routine full of tumbling, stunts, jumps, and a dance section. These two types often are confused and it is very frustrating to those who compete in cheer competitively and are constantly told that it is easy and that anyone could “cheer”. These are the people who do not know of competitive cheerleading and everything it stands for. Unfortunately, cheerleaders for professional sports do not help this stereotype.
