Most people when they think of bull riding is staying on as long as possible and falling off and getting hurt. But they probably don't think of the pains that happened behind the scenes or the payout that are possible when they win. Payouts, spinal and brain injuries, and little but very painful pains is all thing that can happen to someone that bull rides.
Bull riding is a professional sport that many people may think you might not make much money from. Actually though, the money and/or payout for bull riding can be outrageous. You can make anywhere from $500 to many thousands of dollars. In payouts you can make money and win little things such as belt buckles all the way up to side by sides and/or trucks. For example its is possible to win $1.5 million dollars over the 2017 PBR(Professional Bull Riding/Rider) season. “The $250,000 payout available at each of the PBR Majors is the same payout as the first two PBR World Finals combined,” said Cody Lambert.(“PBR Adds Nearly 1.5 Million To its Annual Prize Pursue”). If you're a good bull rider and payouts are as good as that, hitting 1 million dollars would be pretty easy. “PBR offers the richest payouts in bull riding – awarding more than $170 million since our 1992 founding – and our cowboys and bull stock contractors deserve every penny,” said Sean Gleason, CEO, PBR.(“PBR Adds Nearly 1.5 Million To its Annual Prize Pursue”) The riders need a good amount of money to try to ride a bull for 8 seconds and possibly get hurt or even die for entertainment for other people. A good payout could bring in some good entertainment and even help pay for medical bills.
People may never know what might happen to them when riding a bull. They could be bucked off with no injuries or be bucked off with life threatening injuries. When being bucked off you could land rong on your body somehow wrong or even the bull landing on you . You could break your neck or back and possibly be paralyzed for a short period of time of for the rest of your life. Landing on your head could give you major or minor brain injuries and even affect your vertebra. For example Bonner Bolton was bucked off his bull and landed on his head. He broke his second vertebrae and was paralyzed from his neck
In calf roping, calves weighing less than 300 pounds are forced to keep running at rates that exceed 25 miles per hour when they are roped. The reason they keep running at such high speeds is that they are being tormented in the holding chute. Their tails are curled, their tails are rubbed forward and backward over the steel bars of the chute and they are stunned with electric prods until the gate opens. They burst out of the chute at top speed just to be held back - clotheslined - with a choking rope around the neck. They are frequently harmed and some are killed.
Since humans don’t know much about a pit bulls history, we shouldn’t judge it just because of the given name it has. Pit bulls were alive during antiquity. There was a breed of pit bulls known as the Moloses. The breed Moloses, is extinct now and they were used by the Greeks. 400 years in to the future they were known as war dogs. Pit bulls also got their full name due to attacking bulls. They would bite on a bull that is uncontrollable on the nose and let go until the beast calmed down. “ Bultenbeissers” is the same term as “ bull biter”. Furthermore, people often mistaken to what is a pit bull. Pit bull is a definition that is used to describe many types of dogs not just one. The main reason pit bulls attack is because they are mentally unstable, a mixed breed and show overbearing traits, or because they are mistreated by their owners. The public must understand that the three “pit bull breeds were bred for dog fighting and bear and bull-baiting” (PBRC). On the other hand, they were also kept as “nanny dogs” and used for herding cattle. “Pit bulls are ideal for therapy work because of their pleasant nature” (PBRC). These are three of the most stable breeds known to man. They have a very high temperament test score, 86% as of 2010, a lot higher than most breeds. “The American Pit Bull Terrier is one of the top 5 most stable breeds in the country” (PBRC). Anyone can see that this is an excellent breed of dog. There are a few things that people should know though. “Pit bulls have a lower Tolerance to dogs, but with any breed, a dog’s tolerance changes as they mature” (PBRC). “Maturity can come late with pit bull breeds” (Villalobos Rescue Center). The reason for this low tolerance is because of their history of dog fighting. It has been bred into them to have the will to fight. Pit bulls usually do not start a fight most of the time, but they will not back down or give up. Due to this, owners must be cautious and attentive.
MAIN IDEA #2: One of the biggest preconceived notions about the pit bull is that they are the most dangerous dogs in the world that run around wild-eyed and blood thirsty. They have been improperly labeled as vicious creatures that are incapable of love and
Do you think rodeo is animal cruelty? Rodeo has been around forever. Ranchers roped calves, cows, bulls, and steers to doctor them, thats where roping came from. Bronc riding came from ranchers having to break colts to ride and rope off of. This lifestyle is still going on to this day but now people think it is animal cruelty after it turned into a contest called “Rodeo.”
Horse Racing is very contronsival topic. Horse Racing is 39 billion dollar year industry. This is ,major sport and has a lot revenue. There are many people who go down to track and bet on these horses as entertainment day. It is filled with good times, booze, and gambling. All the thing you need to have fun. A similarity between English and Western riding is the posture. Both types of riding require the rider to sit up straight in the saddle and have their heels down. Comfortably and securely sitting in the saddle requires you to keep your hands down, tuck your elbows in, and push your shoulders back. Good posture in the saddle is essential to riding correctly. For example, “A balanced rider is able to maintain this center of balance through all paces. I call this the ‘independent riding posture’. The riding posture is the position the rider establishes in the saddle, at all paces. An independent riding posture gives the rider a stable base allowing them to use their legs, seat, and hands
Rodeos have been around since the day of the cowboy, they are often times credited for having Americas true cowboys. They include great display of athleticism between a cowboy or cowgirl, and the animals. Many rodeo events today, such as calf roping, are traditional farm and ranch practices. Some rodeo viewers don’t approve of what they see. Some people believe rodeos are too rough on the animals and that the animals are mistreated behind closed doors. Dr. James Furman (Beef Magazine), a professional rodeo animal practitioner, says that rodeos have strict animal policies. Cowboys will be disqualified, and often times fined for the mistreatment of animals. (Beef Magazine). Dr. Furman admits, "The rodeos do look tough on the animals, but ranchers take extensive procedures to make sure their cattle are in good health. If the rodeos truly did help the animals, would ranchers put their cattle in them." Furman also likes to add "Livestock
In 1972, his contributions to bull-dodging were recognized. Bull-dodging is now known as steer wrestling. He was honored by the National Rodeo Hall of Fame. He was killed by getting kicked in the head by a horse.
I think that the pit bulls shouldn’t be harmed because, of what the owner is choosing them to do the owner should be the one getting in trouble not the dog because, the owner is the one training the pit bulls so the owner should get in more trouble than what the dog
One legend explained the origins of bulls, or bison and how they came . Splinter Foot Girl was a beautiful girl born from a warrior’s leg that was swollen from a thorny plant. A bull, called the bone bull, sent out to marry her, but was turned away. He tried multiple times, and finally, she gave in to him and went to live with the bone bull as his wife. Splinter Foot Girl’s father and the rest of the people she lived with missed her terribly, so they helped her escape by having a badger and a gopher dig through the ground to help her get away. The bone bull was enraged when he discovered Splinter Foot Girl was gone, so he followed the trail to a large tree where Splinter Foot Girl and her warrior family were hiding. Many bulls tried to break
The truth is that pit bulls do have a few qualities that could make its attacks on people more dangerous than those of other breeds. These qualities are great strength and great tenacity. This is why they're natural weight pulling champions. However, if because of a bad upbringing, they become aggressive toward people, then an attack by a dog of such strength and tenacity could readily overwhelm an adult man.
In 1831 an indian child was born, of the Sioux Nation and the Hunkpapa Tribe. His father, Sitting Bull, and mother, Her-holy-door, did not name him Sitting Bull, he was named Jumping Badger. He was never called Jumping Badger, he was called Slow because of his willful and deliberate ways.
In the preliminary stage (well, I lied there are actually four stages but the preliminary is not really considered one of the tercios), large capes, usually magenta and gold, are flashed before the bull. This is done in order to see how the bull will react. The bullfighters watch the bull closely to form a strategy for engaging it in the ring. If the bull is too timid, the fight could be boring because the bull will not charge when provoked, not allowing the matador to make skillful passes. However, if the bull is too aggressive, the fight may be too dangerous for the matador and he may have to kill the bull quickly. This is also an undesirable result. An ideal bull is one that is brave but the matador is able to manipulate. This allows the matador to show his artistry and skill in controlling the bull.
Training is another concern. Physical punishment has long been the standard training method for animals in circuses. These methods are simply cruel. They include the use of electric prods, whips, and even some animals especially large cats, have their teeth removed. Bears balancing on balls, apes riding motorcycles, elephants standing on two legs are acts that are physically uncomfortable and behaviorally unnatural. Such “performances” do not teach audiences about how animals behave under normal circumstances. Instead, they are often portrayed as ferocious and stupid.
