Homeless is not only limited to only affecting adults, it also includes families that have kids. According to test scores on the Kentucky’s year end test, “[...] the percentage of homeless students scoring proficient or distinguished in math and reading was 15 to 18 points lower than the student population as a whole in 2013-14” (Musgrave). As previous articles articulated it is best to target specific groups who suffer from homelessness, the same should be considered for the kids who are struggling not only with their education but in their personal lives as well. With their focus mostly being on their survival, they don’t seek to improve upon their education because on their list puts studying and homework at the end. In doing so they push themselves back and then get piled up with work and grades to the point where they just quit. Since most of these kids already feel pressured to help their families, they are unable to see the importance and value of education since they are mostly seeking for fast solutions for their problems. Additionally homeless kids are not helped as much, there seem to be no certain position or person that is able to qualify in regards to the help that homeless kids need. But with emphasis on the importance of education, these kids are unable to see the potential that they can unlock through education. As a result more kids pouring out into the streets and staying there because they lacked the help and support to get themselves off the streets. And
