As of November 7th the U.S economy added 214,000 jobs, which makes the unemployment rate down to 5.8 percent, the lowest in six years. The unemployment rate fell from 5.9% to 5.8%, which is lowest since July 2008. Hourly earnings rose three cents to $24.57 and are up just 2% over the past year, in line with the unclear increases so far in the five year recovery. Economists have been looking for a pickup in wage gains to branch more consumer spending. This recent data implies that the slow progression out of the Great Recession is gaining control. However, Americans are seeing their purchasing power rise while jobs come back thanks to falling oil prices.

I grab her hand in an attempt to make mine warm. Waiting for the cold to stop biting, begging to chew our fingers off. I rub my thumb over her coarse, cold hand. We can’t stop laughing, but this time our breath is staying with us. I look into her chestnut eyes that are hidden behind her glasses. I notice that her eyes have a lush verdant coloring on the rim, but can only be shown in the light. The light was shining through the lamp post sitting outside of her car in the parking lot. The outside world so loud, cars passing and beeping. Yet, inside this car, it’s peaceful, reticent. You could hear our hearts beating, echoing throughout the car, and we’re just sitting there listening. I look up to see her looking at me, but not just at me. She’s watching me, admiring me. I feel her eyes looking into my soul, trying to search for something. When I look into her eyes, a flood of emotions hit me. But one that sticks out the most, the one that is most prominent is the overwhelming feelings of love. I can see all the potential she holds. All of the budding ideas, and all of the blossoming possibilities I could have with her. She smiles at me; she has the most adoring, alluring, and beautiful smile I ever laid eyes on.
