From 1973 to 2003 around 1 million abortions have been performed in the U.S alone and after the Roe vs. Wade case was found in favor in Roe, which has led to a large controversy over whether or not an abortion kills a person. Today I will not argue over which side is right or wrong, but show you the facts and ethics of an abortion, and leave you the listener to choose whether or not to believe and act upon these truths. First, the argument over abortion is not about women's right. Many people associate abortion with women's right but this is not the case. The argument for or against abortion lies in whether or not an abortion murders a person. Now with that context set, we must now look to see first whether something is being killed and the answer is yes. Any Biomedical scientist will tell you that an unborn baby's cell is different than that of her mother therefore if an unborn baby were part of her mother the cells of the baby would match that of her mother. But it has been scientifically proven as a fact that an unborn baby is composed of entirely different cells than her mother. Furthermore this meaning that the baby is an entirely different organism. Also, we know something is being killed because the unborn baby has different cells consequently meaning an entirely different organism is killed during the abortion process. Now that we know that an unborn baby is not part of the mother and that something in the least is being killed. Now that it is settled that something

- The overwhelming majority of abortion clinic—88%—experienced at least one form of harassment in 2008. 87% reported picketing, 42% were picketing with patient blocking, and 21% cited incidents of vandalism. And more shockingly, nearly one-fifth of all of the largest abortion facilities reported a bomb threat. (Jones, 2011)
Specific Purpose: I want to argue that abortions is wrong and as humans it is our duty to stop it.
Writing for publication was presented as a newspaper article. The chosen theme was a real-estate article. Bold headings to grab the eye of the reader were used, same as big and clear images. The article was presented in three different columns. Writing for a visual prompt was presented in two peoples perspectives. The story consisted of a daughter (Deb) and mother’s perspective after the death of her father. The purpose of this layout is to show how they are both grieving in individual ways. Writing for the persuasive was presented as an essay on why abortion should be accessible in every country, and to also outline the shame women receive.
As a woman who has experienced the horrific tragedy of rape and all of the trauma that comes with it, I personally find a woman’s right to have a say in her own reproductive rights to be of the utmost importance. Ever since the landmark Supreme Court case Roe v. Wade was decided in January of 1973, abortion has been deemed a fundamental right for women. Additionally, a woman’s right to access legal, safe, and professionally-performed abortions severely reduces the risk of death and bodily harm associated with less safe, unlawful abortions. Lastly, studies performed via peer review in 2013 found that women who denied abortions were more likely to suffer from mental health problems when compared to women who carried out the procedure. Furthermore, only 1 in 20 women who received abortions felt that they did not make the right choice in doing so. In other words, in order to ensure the health of women, both physical and mental, in the United States, it is vital that safe avenues for abortion remain available to the general public.
Approximately 1.6 million murders are committed legally each year. While the mutilated bodies of the victims lay waiting in infested dumpsters to be hauled off to a landfill, the murderers are in their offices waiting for their next patient. This is the murder of an innocent child by a procedure known as abortion. Abortion stops the beating of an innocent child’s heart. People must no longer ignore the scientific evidence that life begins at the moment of conception. People can no longer ignore the medical and emotional problems an abortion causes women. People must stop denying the facts about the procedure, and start hearing the silent screams of unborn children. The argument by the pro-abortion
Attention Grabber- Do you remember the first time you learned how to ride a bike or the first time you scored a 100% on a test? Do you remember the joy and the pride that came with this? Now think about the future. What do you want in life? Do you want a family of your own? Do you want a career instead of a job? Whether you were at work, sitting at home watching TV, or not even born yet, there are many crazy things that happened in the year 1996 that you have never heard about. I was born on December 20, 1996 in Miles City, Montana. This means that while most of these crazy events were taking place, I was not even born yet. A few things that happened in 1996 include the vetoing of the ban on a procedure for late abortions, the Unabomber being captured and arrested, and South Africa receiving a new constitution.
The vast majority of people in the United States support the rights of woman and men alike. This right makes them free to pursue dreams of happiness and freedom, to do as they choose as long as it does not infringe on the rights of other “humans.” That is honestly the root of the issue with abortion in this country; we firmly believe in the rights of humans, but we treat a fetus as if it was none human. Science has proven through deoxyribonucleic acid (DNA) that an unborn baby is indeed human, so if it is human then the only remaining question would be, “When is the fetus alive?” To find the answer, one must first start with the end in mind. This proposal will do just that, start at the end to explain the beginning and through a small amount of compromise, the abortion controversy will be solved with a common sense and responsible approach.
A long on-going subject that has been greatly debated in our society is abortion. Many people argue that because the baby in the mother’s womb is not alive, aborting him or her is not considered a murder. However, others say that as the baby’s heart and brain are the first things to develop, the baby is technically alive and killing it would be a murder. As soon as the baby has a heartbeat, it has life. Abortion has many characteristics of a murder, including the killing of one human being by another, it’s unethical, and it is done without the consent of the person.
Specific Purpose: To persuade the audience to chose life Abortion is when a mother decides to terminate her pregnancy. Many people have different opinions about this ethical and moral issue. Some people think that abortion is okay, while others believe that it is inhumane and against their moral and/or religious beliefs. (Advance Slide)
