In my original search for an undergraduate institution to spend the subsequent four years after high school, I primarily searched for a school in an urban environment that has a medium to large student population, rigorous curriculum, and a small student to teacher ratio to aid in attaining my learning and career goals. However, when it came time to select a university I chose the cheapest school without considering any of the criteria that I was looking for. Luckily the school I attend, Philadelphia University, has a superb student to teacher ratio, unfortunately everything else is a drawback such as its location, lack of diversity, and personal quandaries. I am willing to jeopardize my economic security in order to achieve happiness somewhere else.
Despite the name of the school,

Attending the same high school and university that my brother attended has always left me in his shadow, especially at a high school with less than 1,000 students and a university with relatively the same amount. In addition to the fact that my brother attends the same school, more than 20 of my childhood friends and acquaintances attend PhilaU as well. Moving away to an unfamiliar city will allow me the freedom to become independent while still being close enough to my family to come home for emergencies or holidays. Over the summer of 2015 I spent two weeks in Paris, and during that time I saw a glimpse of what it would be like to live away in a city such as NYC. During my time in Paris, I came to the realization that nothing is more appealing than escaping the people, cookie-cutter homes, and cul-de-sacs I have known my entire life while elevating my opportunities to achieve my personal and career goals. Moving to NYC to pursue my goals will be onerous financially and emotionally, but I take pride in accepting new
I chose my pharmacy program at OSU because of its well-known reputation in the field that has a long history of more than 100 years in preparing world-class educational opportunity, and educating pharmacists to serve with the best medical care in health communities, which is what my career focuses on. Before I answer the questions posed, I believe an explanation is owed regarding this request for admission into Saybrook. I originally applied to The Chicago School of Professional Psychology seeking a degree in business psychology. Since the program was not ready to start for another year, it was suggested that I take courses in the international psychology program. I thoroughly enjoyed this new experience with an opportunity to “think global”. I optioned to remain in this program with a concentration in organizations and systems. As I sojourned through, I was always aware that there was still something missing. Although I loved being part of the IP program, my roots are deeply entrenched in the world of organizational development (OD).
In all fifty states of America, it is probably hard for some students to pick which college to go to. Some would go Midwest, down south or all way to the west coast, but I believe that my state university will give me the best education. Only forty-five minutes away from home, Rutgers can offer me the greatest learning facilities, several of challenging classes and be part of a diverse community where I can achieve my personal enrichment and career goals.
Penn State is a tradition in my family and I hope to carry on that tradition. The last three generations of my family; my father, grandfather, and great-grandfather all attended Penn State. Now it is my time to become the fourth generation. I want to be able to have pride in the institution my family members loved to attend and take part in the activities that make Penn State great. I cannot wait to attend athletic events, join clubs, and participate in philanthropic activities such as THON. I want to be part of the Penn State community to make friends not just for my time spent at PSU but for a lifetime. My success at Penn State will be from my desire to take part in the institution through events and academics.
My entire life is plight, yet I always make the best of situations. I am an optimist, but I do consider myself a realist as well. At the end of my sophomore year, leading into my junior year of high school, I rested in more than 8 habitations. Stability was elusive, but I craved it like a frightened infant seeking security in his mother. Living as a vagrant student, my only choice was to move schools each time the area that I stayed at changed. Additionally, I attended three different high schools, each from three different districts; rules, people, and teaching methods were variant, of course. Fortunately, there have been positive outcomes from this, such as adaptation and open-mindedness. After going through a rough 20 months with my family,
York University is home to students and professors from all over the globe. To obtain a degree here would be a significant accomplishment because of the knowledge and experience I would achieve. The Human Resource Management program allows students to enhance their education while gaining knowledge of the world. This would inspire me to achieve my ambitions and steer me towards my disires. My goal for the future is to travel while helping people in a positive work environment. The HR program will encourage me to learn another language, which will allow me to travel while putting my degree to use. Cinema and Media Studies was my major in 2015, by minoring in it, I would continue to pursue knowledge in that creative atmosphere. Although my aspiration for the future is ongoing, I believe I’ll be able to acquire and display my creativity and knowledge, positively in an academic
With excellent academic performance and outstanding English proficiency, I was admitted by Michigan State University (MSU), whose accounting program is often ranked as top 20 in the United States. Although excited about the fact that I am part of the amazing business school, I was totally aware of the challenges ahead of me. To quickly adapt myself to the new environment, I forced myself to step out of my comfort zone. For example, I made an effort to make as many local friends as I possibly can. Also, I spent lots of time on learning more about American culture by watching American TV shows, listening American music, frequenting local museums among others. Meanwhile, I was actively involved in various extracurricular activities. For instance, I was a mentor at the Mentorship Program of MSU English Learning Center. In addition, I was also the orientation group leader for MSU Office of International Students and Scholars. During the summer of 2014, I interned at China Construction Bank, one of the largest banks in China, as a Personal Loan Client Manager Assistant. This work experience not only allowed me to apply the knowledge I learnt at school to the real world but also taught me how to communicate with different people effectively.
One of the wonderful aspects about college is that students are able to choose what college they want to go to, as opposed to being districted to a specific school, as many students are for high school. Potential students have the opportunity to browse schools based on options such as their major, what type of school they want to go to, and location. Now, however, more students are increasingly choosing their schools because of price. Because of this, some students may not get the most out of their education. Many students forego going to a school specialized or focused on their program due to the high costs associated with it. Students fear becoming burdened with debts and not receiving enough financial aid, and choose to go to affordable schools over their “dream school.” (Medrano,
Nothing in my life has proved to be more rewarding and valuable than my experiences at Indiana University. From the moment I stepped foot on campus four years ago, I have been compelled to make the most of every opportunity I have been granted and build the greatest foundation for my future that I possibly could. I knew the path that I had envisioned for myself was going to be arduous and that I was going to be met with great adversity at every step I took, but each obstacle only further motivated me to exceed expectations and carve my own avenue against the grain. I finished my senior year with a B.S. in Neuroscience, and three minors in Chemistry, Biotechnology, and Psychology. These fields overlap in many dimensions, but
While it seems I’ve always known Georgetown University to be a school of excellence, committed to Jesuit Catholic principles, it wasn’t until I visited the campus last spring that I really fell in love with it. Not only did it look like something out of a movie, but the students really impressed me. All the students I met that day - from my tour guide to those in the Red Square - exuded a contagious enthusiasm that clearly sought to engage the world and serve it. Georgetown’s history, tradition, and sense of purpose were obvious. I want to be part of that experience.
Welcome to today’s fight! In the blue corner we have the State universities and in the red corner we have Ivy league universities. Our referees are graduating high school seniors looking for their perfect fit for the next four years. Our spectators and commentators are their parents. The fight starts off with the way students analyze schools and compare different educations. Comparison between state and ivy show up in references like the “Ivies of the South” and “Harvard of West Coast Schools”. These references show that Ivy League schools demand a higher prestige and more rigorous academic plans rather than State schools. This hints to the assumption that a Harvard student would be chosen over and Auburn student almost ninety percent of the time. This topic will ultimately lead to the overall research question on whether state schools should be free. The fight in the end genuinely just boils down to the individual student budget, preference and availability.
I am applying for the Assistant Professor Position in the Department of Mechanical Engineering (ME) at Bucknell University (Job no: 493839). Currently, I am an Assistant Clinical Professor and Research Educator in the Designing Innovations (DI) Research Stream in the First-Year Innovation and Research Experience (FIRE) at the University of Maryland, College Park (UMD).
I am confident that I would be an asset to your admissions team because of my mixed background in Political Science and Philosophy, as well as extensive extracurricular experience with general and financial intelligence analysis.
Alfred University the school I recently graduated was an all-around great institution and I enjoyed my time there as a student. Alfred is a small school with a close knit community and you develop a forever imprinted family once you leave the campus in Western New York. With that being said I’m excited to start a new chapter of my life. As most students who are recent college graduates, you want to have a plan as to what you want to do, but it never really pans out that way. Since I was a kid I always envisioned myself living in Florida and excelling there. I’ve had some of my best experiences in the sunshine state from competing in football games, family vacations and just an overall good vibe when I’m there. I Now have the chance to relive
Our team (consisting of Afnaan, Javad, and Sultan) embarked on a project to build up a website as a resource for international students that might find it difficult to adapt to Philadelphia’s lifestyle in a short period of time. Most international students waste their effort, time and money looking for their basic needs and interests at the arrival. So, our website will be a guide to the international students that are either planning to move to Philadelphia for studying or they are still exploring colleges and cities. Our website’s intent is to accommodate these groups of students to find a better understanding of the available facilities and services in Philadelphia. The concentration of the website is more on the international students
