Dressed in a white bath robe I leaned over to my little sister, Elly, with a toy stethoscope and began her physical. After observing Elly’s heart rate, reflexes, and vision I diagnosed her with the common cold and instructed her to stay in bed and eat chicken noodle soup. Playing doctor as a child was the beginning of my interest in medicine. As a teenager, attending doctor appointments cultivated my curiosity for the medical profession and convinced me to get my nursing assistant certification after high school. Working as a CNA developed my interest into a passion for medicine. I didn’t immediately know I wanted to be a physician assistant while playing doctor with Elly, or even after I became certified as a nursing assistant, but after realizing a PA’s work is like solving a puzzle I decided to pursue a Masters in Physician Assistant studies.

I was shadowing a PA who was dealing with a patient complaining of syncopal episodes, extreme fatigue, and headaches. I listened and watched as the PA examined her. The patient was frustrated because it was affecting her job and everyday life. The PA included me in the diagnosis process and asked me what I thought we should do. I suggested to perform a blood draw to test for anemia and she agreed. The tests came back positive and medicine was prescribed accordingly. It was thrilling deciphering this woman’s puzzle and helping this patient get her life back to normal. Most people give up due to frustration when the pieces don’t fit, but I found that moment to be the part that intrigued me the most. In college when I couldn’t remember the equation during a difficult chemistry exam or was stressed in the midst of my twenty-one credit course load, instead of giving in to discouragement, I became motivated to beat the puzzle at its own
I always had interest in a clinical research career that serves a large number of people by emphasizing more on research studies by exploring whether a medical strategy, treatment or device is safe and effective for humans. As a graduate in medicine, my strong base in the medical field continually challenged and motivated me to expand my skills in patient care. My coursework has allowed me to develop a keen understanding of how disruption in biological systems can influence one’s health.

The medical profession I’ve recently decided to pursue was a certified medical assistant. You will need some type of plan before you decide to pursue in anything. If a PA chooses to specialize then their knowledge and training is revered to be desired by employers. The career is fast growing and beneficial as a mid-level practitioner for physicians.
Becoming a medical assistant is a good choice as a career. This career is continuing to grow a lot. A medical assistant is an enjoyable job, even though it can be difficult at sometimes people still enjoy the job. They mainly stay busy during the day because a lot of patients come in.
Description: Physician's assistants work under the supervision of a physician to examine, diagnose, and treat illnesses. They are able to record medical histories, perform physical examinations, treat minor injuries, prescribe medication, and administer treatments. Physicians work in all areas including family practice, emergency departments, hospitals, surgery, and psychiatry. Although all PAs work under a physician, in some places this physician may not be present all of the time and only come in the office a couple days a week.
Medicine the field that fulfills me and gives me the strength to continue my education and future goals despite the many obstacles. I am a third year and a certified medical assistant who is majoring in Spanish literature and human biology with aspirations to become a surgeon in the future. I found joy and self-satisfaction in helping others after having spent many years in the hospital taking care of my mother. From this experience, I decided to become a medical assistant and began working with an oncologist and cardiologist. Both these specialists taught me many life lessons and gave me the knowledge to help patients who were in delicate situations and those who simply needed someone that would listen to them.

Job opportunities for a PA are expected to go up by more than thirty percent between 2010 and 2020. When you are a PA you have a huge amount of flexibility to choose your specialization. I know that a PA is the best career choice for me because i love to work with people and enjoy social interaction, i love to have flexibility to be able to spend time with my family, and there are very good benefits and there will always be job openings.
Born the youngest of eleven children, I looked up to my siblings my whole life, and as a result I acquired many of the same interests as them. Growing up I was always being drug to sporting events to watch my sibling compete, and when i was at home there was sure to be some sort of game going on, and to say things often got a little competitive would be an understatement. As a result I starting playing sports at the youngest age I could, even if I didn’t necessarily love them at first. After playing various sports for many years though, sports became a defining part of my personality and one of my favorite things to do. Through tough practices and hours training on my own I learned the values of hard work and dedication, and was also able to meet some of the people who are my very best friends to this day.
As I walked into the Accident & Emergency unit my new Healthcare Assistant uniform identified me as part of the Healthcare team. I looked forward to the challenge which would further my understanding of the realities of working in modern medicine. The concept of worthwhile work with a humanistic approach based on scientific methodology within an evolving field drives my ambition for a career in medicine. Reading molecular medicine coupled with this and other work experience over the last five years cements my mature ambition to practice medicine.

An innate desire to help ailing patients get over their sufferings braced with a never ending yearn to learn makes me competent to pursue the Physician Assistant program. I feel fortunate to hold a graduate degree in medicine from India and have a fulfilling long term experience in patient care.
