Mrs. Poer and Mrs. Lamb, I just wanted to tell you about something I am very proud of! My son told me tonight that on Friday at recess (after lunch recess), another third grade student was upset on the playground. He told me she was upset because no one was paying attention to her. It was another different third grader’s birthday on Friday and lots of students were bringing that student”flowers” as he called it and giving her lots of attention. (They are probably weeds, but flowers to them) The upset student was feeling sad and sitting alone because no one brought her any flowers. He said that this student said no one gave her any “flowers” at recess for her birthday when it was that time of the year. Anyhow, R.L., L.P., and G.C. went and
The insights provided by you and kindergarten team assisted me in growing as an educator. It was terrific to see young faces light up as they got to know and understand me. Thank you for the opportunity to be able to educate your student and help them develop and grow.
I have been very fortunate to have a group of compassionate people helping me and guiding me every step of the way. I know my stubborn personality drives them crazy at times, but they accept my imperfections and push me to achieve goals I never would have thought possible. The fact that I am standing here today is a tribute to that support. And, if I am being completely honest, I would never have made it through my math classes without my brother’s tutoring. Being in front of you tonight is the direct result of the people who inspired me, believed in me, and sometimes had to drag me kicking and screaming towards my
When I am working in a group, I may lead the way slightly, but I always give the overall credit to my team. When I see a classmate or teacher down or lacking confidence, I never hesitate to tell them how amazing they are and how I believe in them. When I tutor at my old middle school, I make sure to make each child smile before I leave especially when I know they have had some trouble. One of my most memorable moments I have happened at the beginning of this school year. Since I am a part of Student Council as the Senior Class Secretary, I volunteered to help with Freshmen and New Student Orientation. We were assigned to specific classrooms to answer questions from the students and to offer advice. The Freshmen and New Students were quiet and shy so I chose to speak to them about the high school experience. I spoke about how important their Freshman year will be. I encouraged them to challenge themselves and to be confident. I even told them my own story of high school. Moreover, a few months later a student from my orientation class recognized me at lunch. He came up to me, said hello, and said “you probably don't remember me but I was in your class at Open House. The things you said really inspired me to push myself this year. Thanks.” and then he
Today was a hard day for me. I wasn’t feeling well when I got up this morning, but I push through and I’m glad that I did. There is one baby in the infant classroom that want go to anyone except for me; which make me feel good in a kind away. Mrs. Wright keep on trying to work with her, but she’s very slow to warm up to people. It will just have to take time for her to adjust to the teachers. Maybe next week once I’m not in the classroom she will start to warm up to them. I know for me at times it was hard hearing her cry for me, but I couldn’t do anything because I was attending to the other babies in the classroom. It was a challenge for me, but I got over it and learn how to multitask. I couldn’t go to planning with the teachers today
The Giver Letter Dear, Jordan Hello Jordan, for my fiction report, I am reading a book called “The Giver” by Lois Lowry. It was originally published in 1993. This book is really good, and I have enjoyed it quite thoroughly, and it is something that I consider as a masterpiece of literature. This book is so good that I decided to recommend this book to you.
One day in Boulder Middle School there was a boy named Nick and another boy named Jon and these two boys were currently in Mr. B´s math class. Nick was trying to act cool to the girls as usual and Jon did not like that so he went up to Mr B and said
We always ask “what’s your favorite” questions. Once they were done eating we got them lined up. Michaela and I noticed three of our boys standing side by side were wearing the same plaid shorts but in different colors, blue, green, yellow, with their pant color collared shirt. It was instantly adorable. We went to the gym and got ready for quiet free time. The kids helped put the mats back. Seeing little kids help each other out is so precious. Especially when two don’t get along, carry a mat together. It melted my heart. Got Legos and blocks out and started building together. So much teamwork that day makes you proud. One bad kid had his day where he just wanted to help. Someone would leave, he went to open the door. I couldn’t tell you how many times he opened the door. It was astonishing. A second grader wanting to help someone. Precious. The kindergarten girl built a house with Legos. She showed me it, couldn’t stop smiling. My heart dropped of pure
We had been fighting to keep our state championship title, so not all moments of it were as simple as a walk in the park. The heat was unbearable. Shoes stuck to the scalding tar, left behind for the scrambling students to quickly retrieve. The bright red freshman would wish he had packed sunscreen when he saw the heat waves on the other side of the field. The week was rewarding though, and I will remember how I helped others advance in music as well as social skills. We laughed until our stomachs ached with close friends, we worked harder than ever before, and we did what we loved. There was a freshman that could not pick up on marching like the rest of her classmates. One could see the look of frustration in her eyes as she stepped off late or stumbled around like her feet were made of lead. As the year progressed, I began to work with her. I learned tremendous amounts of leadership skills as I helped her remember how to step off in time, or how to march correctly. It was not only a learning experience for her, but for me as
After reading the letter from Heaton manor I realised that this letter was written in formal. This is because the way the writer has authored this it looks professional. The letter was drafted to the students parents about a trip. They used the words Dear at the beginning and Yours Faithfully at the end of the page, this is used if the name of the person isn 't known.
I am writing this letter to tell you what you did wrong when you had a conflict. When the boy at your old school bullied you, you should've ignored him. When the man in the subway stepped on your hand, you should've hollered for help and when the boys in the train took your things from you, you should've got up and left.
I had many experiences in my time at the school that opened my eyes to just how lucky I am. One of the memories was when I was helping a young kid that was said to be struggling to read at the suggested level, so they asked me to read with him after he caused some trouble in the classroom. We sat down and he started reading, and he was doing awesome job reading the short book. I reported to the teacher that we read the book with ease. She
This week was my first week volunteering in Mrs. Bettenberg’s kindergarten class. When I volunteer, I usually am around the time they are doing their reading stations. When I come in I sit with them as a big group and listen to their daily announcements. Once the video ends, my job is to take one kindergartener at a time in the hallway, to do reading skills. One day they work on rhyming and the next they work on pronouncing the sound of the letters in the alphabet. Every day is a different reading activity. My job is fun because they love learning words and letters and every child is at different levels so its interesting to see their development and the way they like to learn. Since I have only been in the classroom volunteering for a week,
Today was my last day teaching preschool and at the end of the day, my cooperative teacher told my students that today would be my last day and they should go hug me and thank me. When the children were hugging me, it reminded me why I love teaching. I loved working with my students and at the preschool. If I could, I would continue working with them! Today was a good day.
Monday was an excellent day. I signed in and washed my hands. I sat down for a while and supervised Gage interacting with Teacher Mao, and then I went outside to set up the toys and equipment on the tables to make the outdoor environment more appealing to the children. After that task, I sat down on a blue cube and waited for the rest of children to arrive at the Maple Room. I spent most of my day indoor and outdoor with the children especially with Ezequiel. He was waving his hand and telling me to “come on” and follow him when he was indoor and outdoor. The most surprising things that happened today were noticing how much language Ezequiel has developed throughout his time in the classroom and seeing some of the children in my group bonding
Today Jacob and I have a coffee date and I brought Mark. This will help Jacob with his social skills. The more he communicates with others the better the communication skills will be. Jacob come in and goes to the front to ask for an order “ A cappuccino and bagel with butter”! I step in and say, “ Jacob let 's say it more politely like can I have a cappuccino and bagel with butter PLEASE”. Jacob repeats what I said. When he receives his order he says, “Thank you”. This makes me really happy. It shows that all the work that I put into him is paying off. We take our food and sit with Mark.
