Lawrence (Trey) McIntosh III has applied for a position with the Austin Police Department. Trey is currently employed as an intern for Nacogdoches Fire & Rescue and is a student at Stephen F. Austin State University. Trey has worked with us since June of 2015 and has been a positive addition to our staff.

On March 31, 2016, While assigned to Legacy High School located at 1261 N. Main St. Mansfield, Tx 75603, I, Officer B. McMillon, # 135, of the MISD PD was dispatched to the MISD PD lobby in reference to hit an run that occurred in the parking lot of Lake Ridge High School located at 101 N. Day Miar Rd.

Yes, this indeed was a legal stop. This was a legal stop because under the stop and frisk exception police can stop a person on the streets and pat them down for illegal objects, so long as they have suspicion. And, during my midnight shift patrol I found it to be suspicious that these two men were behind a closed business. A business in which has been burglarized in the past. I do believe that stop and pat down was justified. I believe the stop was justified because the suspect did not appear to fit the time or place, as it was midnight and the business was closed. A pat down is to stop any further danger towards an officer and other people. A pat down should only be used to detect concealed weapons or contraband. So, I believe

This officer spoke with juvenile #1 and his mother Christine about the incident. Juvenile #1 stated earlier in the day he was at Central Park and ran into his ex-girlfriend juvenile #3. I separated the two students and took them to the 2nd floor AP’s office. Wells advised that they had words earlier that day and that was the reason why Taylor slapped her. Upon arrival Mansfield PD Officer's were on the scene and had suspect in custody. I spoke Mckay Briggs, Andrey B/M, DOB 09/07/1984, who said that after his step daughter Lovender, Ashlin DOB 06/01/2012 dance recital his mother in law Kent, Ruby DOB 05/27/1960 tried going to the stage to see Ashlin and he told her that she couldn't. Mckay Briggs said that the dance company said that only one care giver per child was allowed on stage. Mckay Briggs said that he got in front of his mother in law trying to prevent her from going on stage. Mckay Briggs said that Kent went around him and continued going on stage and again he stepped in front of her to try and prevent her from going on stage. Mckay Briggs said that the third time he got him front of Kent she pulled a taser out of her purse and begin trying to tase him. Mckay Briggs said that Kent touched him twice with the taser, but was not shocked by the taser. I spoke with Kent who said that she pulled out her taser because she felt threatened. Kent said that she never had to use the taser therefore she didn,t know how to work it. Kent said that she tried tasing Mckay Briggs, but she never made contact with him. Jessie, I really enjoyed your post as I have been a police officer for 18 years and it directly relates to my job. Yes, police departments across the country must strive to make their departments more diverse, especially with the rising Hispanic population. One main hindrance to this goal is the fact that many cities are doing away with pension programs and starting hybrid or 401K retirement plans. At my agency, the Knoxville Police Department, we are having problems getting any race to apply because of the new hybrid system. I would recommend offering ride-a-long and cadet programs to attract more minorities to the field. As far as keeping arrest numbers equal to the makeup of the population, there is no way to make this happen

On Tuesday, November 29, 2016, this writer along with Inv. Hopkins and Inv. Lehn of the Metropolitan Police Department Youth And Family Services Division, Missing Person Unit were given this child custody investigation to investigate. .

On Tuesday, November 08, 2016, I, Officer B. McMillon, #135, of the Mansfield ISD Police Department was on assignment at Legacy High School located at 1263 N. Main in Mansfield, Texas 76063. At approximately 12:00 pm I was informed by AP Cousins, Leonard B/M, dob 03/06/1962 in regards to a physical altercation that occurred in the third floor boy’s rest room.

On March 1, 2016, I responded to T.C. Williams High School and spoke to Ms. Bailey as the School Resource Officers were not in school grounds. On 1/13/2018, I, Dillon Dickerson, badge #155, was working as a Patrol Officer for the Wichita State University Police Department, in Wichita, Sedgwick County, Kansas. At approximately 1920 hours I was working a special assingment at Koch Arena. While standing in one of the sections I heard someone say the name Cordell. I remembered this name from a case I had in 2017 which was case number 17C0236. I looked at the male and he looked familiar to me. When I noticed this male he was starting to walk into the concourse area due to it being half time.

On Friday, December 2, 2016, I, Officer McDaniel #147, of Mansfield ISD Police Department, located at 1522 N Walnut Creek Dr, Mansfield, TX, was on a campus check at Della Icenhower Intermediate, located at 8100 Webb Ferrell Rd, Arlington, TX. While on a Campus Check, I made contact with Assistant Principal Brooks, Amber, B/F, DOB 8/26/1985.

Over the last several years, most police departments have been facing numerous financial challenges. The main reason is law enforcement agencies are expected to do more with less and the stagnant economy. The combination of these factors has been placing pressure on many departments to begin imposing budget cuts. Evidence of this can be seen with a survey that was conducted by the University of North Carolina. They found that 67% of police departments made some kind of budget cuts for 2011. The most severe reductions were occurring in large police departments such as Los Angeles, Atlanta and Detroit. (Delfem, 2011, pp. 199 - 205) This is illustrating one of the most pressing issues affecting a wide variety of police departments across the country. To fully understand what is happening requires: examining the situation, how they are able to interact with other agencies (i.e. state / federal) and recommending the way this relationship can be improved. Together, these elements will offer specific insights about how police departments can effectively address this problem.

Police officers are often faced with many threatening situations every day; forcing them to make split second decisions under lots of pressure, and these decisions might determine the final outcome of the incident. Police must have the right kind of mindset at all times because they are expected to handle the most difficult and worst kinds of situations out there on the streets. Since police officers have the power to make decisions based on their judgment and the situation, it is always important for them to know the difference between the use of reasonable force and excessive force. Caseworker Jessica, spoke with Ja’Kevion on 10/19/17, and he said that he was on punishment for 3 months because his sister did not have on panties and he was falsely accused of pulling her panties down. Reporter visited the family on 11/16/17 and mom (Marion) informed stated that Ja’Kevion was messing with his sister and brother. Mom told the reporter she went into the living room and Ja’Kevion was at the table. She had left her daughter in the room and when she went back to the room she notice the cover looked messed up and it was high. She pulled the cover back and her daughter panties and pants were pulled down. Mom asked the child why her clothes were down and she did not want to admit what happen to her. It took her a while to answer and she said Ja’Kevion pulled her clothes down and he was messing with her. Reporter
