During the Industrial Revolution there were new inventions but also spreading of diseases and also disasters, there might be different thoughts of how people think of the Industrial Revolution, in my state of view I think that it counts as a more positive affect. First, people in the Industrial Revolution invented machines to be more efficient in their jobs. Second, invented railroads so people could live in more remote places, and travel also most importantly transportation. Lastly, They had natural resources for transportation, energy resource, and building materials.

One might say that the Industrial Revolution made the world a more productive place. The rate of production of goods increased dramatically owing to the efficiency of factories and there was an increase of job opportunities, leading to a more prosperous economy. The mass production by factories led to products being more widely available to the general public. While these things may be true, there were negatives of the Industrial Revolution that greatly outweighed the positives. Factory conditions were extremely dangerous, children were brought into the workforce and made to work long hours at jobs that were unsafe, workers were grossly underpaid, and living conditions for factory workers were extremely subpar. Was the higher consistency and production rate really worth the harm? The Industrial Revolution ruined the lives of working class people by turning everyday life from happy and enjoyable to a living hell due to the underpayment of workers, use of child labor, poor living conditions, and mass produced products.

Not only did the Industrial Revolution negatively impact the environment, it also impacted the health and living conditions of the people living in the industrial towns. One group of people that were especially impacted were the miners and child laborers. They would go to work early in the morning and return at night, therefore getting little to no sun exposure for multiple years. The sun gives off vitamin D which is essential for bone growth and strengthening. A study was done and children who worked in the mines, unlike children from wealthier families, were found to be over five inches shorter than the average height for their age and were suffering from rickets, a softening and weakening of the bones due to a vitamin D deficiency. The results of the study illustrated the differences between living in the upper class vs. the working class. While the working class was slaving away day and night with no breaks, the upper class was enjoying a high standard of living. This contrast between the classes illustrates another problem of this time period; how no one was looking to help the less fortunate and to better society as a whole. Another negative impact was the increase in noise pollution. The industrial machines being used were very loud and caused many workers to become deaf. There was also deafening noises coming from the thousands of miles of new railroad tracks established to transport goods daily. Ultimately, not only did the Industrial Revolution affect the wildlife and ecosystems it also directly negatively impacted human society.

The Industrial Revolution shaped the growing economy at the time in many positive and negative aspects. The Industrial Revolution took place during the late 1800’s and the early 1900’s and was considered to be the “New Industrial” or the “Modern Revolution.” Many positive aspects were brought to the economy at the time due to this occurring some in which being machinery, technology, production of goods, and even an increase in performance rates. These positive aspects were just some that had an outlasting effect on the economy as a whole. The Industrial Revolution did not just have a positive outlasting effect it also affected in many negative ways. This revolution in not just directly affect the economy, rather directly affected the farmers, the working-class, and the middle-class, which then led the economy to be affected as a result.

And the negative would include exploitation of women and children, workers work long hours and environmental damages. These are just a few that I believe had an impact on the Industrial Revolution.

Although the revolution did help mankind advance tenfold, it came with slow acting but tremendous consequences. What we call the industrial revolution was a major turning point in Earth’s ecology and humans’ relationship with their environment. The revolution drastically changed every aspect of human life and lifestyles. Human development, health, and life longevity to social improvements and the impact on natural resources, the effects were becoming more evident every year. The industrial revolution wasn’t something that was made up overnight, some would say it was started the moment machinery was replacing manual labor. Fossil fuels were to replace the role of wind, water, and food for a more inexpensive, efficient strategy for performing the same tasks. What some didn’t know or even ignore about this substitution was that it could be extremely detrimental to both mother nature and human health. The full impact would not begin to be realized until about one hundred years later. Consequently, the life sustaining environment has been forced to transform more rapidly than it ever has before. The tendency humans have to exert a negative influence on ecology has resulted in a rapid increase in greenhouse gases in the atmosphere, large deforestation, loss of biodiversity, severe land degradation, and environmental pollution.
