Poverty refers to the state where an individual or group do not possess enough material or money. Social class refers to a panel of people in the society that occupies or exists at the same level of economic production. while poverty reduction refers to the implementation of various measures that aims at uplifting individuals' economic situation in the society permanently. These three social issues moves hand in hand, whereby poverty alleviates own or denies them access to monetary possession, having low income and poor welfare. Therefore to raise their living standards some measures need to be done which focuses on poverty reduction, this lowers the number of poor people in the society. In the year 2004, Minister Deb Matthews provided a report that pointed out about 800 non-constructive and punitive measures in the Ontario Works and ODSP systems. Rules that are counter-productive to assisting individuals move out of poverty conditions.
